Using the Lambeau Blueprint to improve the Ralph
packfntk replied to Got_Wood's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Hey guys, Packer fan here from GB. The Packers added 10,000 seats to Lambeau when they did the renovation as well. The atrium is amazing. It makes it a year round facility. The Packer HOF was a block away from the stadium, now it is downstairs through the atrium. It is pretty cool, if you ever come to Lambeau make sure and do it. The Packers do stadium tours year round, except for game days of course. The tours are every 45 minutes to an hour and are normally packed. The Cheifs actually came to Lambeau and made their blueprint off of Lambeau. They took many of the same ideas and I can't wait to see Arrowhead, we went there in 2007 before they did it. I have never been to the Ralph before, but want to visit. Not sure about the poster that said it has the same hora as Lambeau, I go to every game and talk to opposing teams fans about it and they all say they have never fealt or seen anything like it. It is a special trip. We are coming to Buffalo in 2014 and can't wait! But Qualcomm is in 2 weeks. I hear it is kind of a dump. -
Thanks for the kind words, we knew this year would be strong, and firmly believe we can go into our bye week 7-0 playing the Rams at home and at the Vikings. We will see I guess. Yeah, it seems like every time I look Barnett is making a play. Good to see, he was one of my favs. He just didn't have a spot here any longer. And Fan In Chicago- Sherrod is ready to step in so if Clifton is out it won't hurt us in the worst way. We need to get through the next two weeks and into our bye to get healthy. Love that you guys are lighting it up, keep up the intensity!

Awesome win guys! Nice takedown of the "dream team". You guys have to be on a high right now, huh? Fantastic! Glad to see Barnett is working out for you! Good luck the rest of the way, I will be checking in from time to time!

We went to ATL last year. It was loud but they were strong last year. People didn't show up until late in the 2nd quarter, and I just don't like Dome Football. Tailgating was odd. We paid $60 to park is some gravel lot. We love to tailgate and do everywhere we go. It was MUCH different from what we are used to. Old school rap playing everywhere. 2pac mostly, which I used to love, and it was all right to hear it again, but shocking that I heard nothing but that almost the entire time. Just a different atmosphere. We were treated all right.

Or has no one been to the stadiums I mentioned?
-
So is the Ralph loud on a regular basis? We travel to at least 1 stadium a year to support the Pack, and I love seeing what other fans bring to the table. Anyone been to other stadiums? I have been to: Lambeau (Of course) Arrowhead LP Field Heinz Field Soldier Field Lucas Oil Metrodome Georgia Dome How does it compare to any of these if you have been?
-
Congrats again guys! I guess I will continue to do this week in, week out! Maybe it will bring a little luck! Awesome win. The Ralph looked like it was rocking yesterday. Keep it up!
-
Well done boys! Nice win yesterday! Keep it rolling! Fitz is the man! I bet you are flying high right now, good luck next week. Hopefully you will be the first team to slow Brady down!
-
He was always strong in that aspect of his game. He has been a good LB in this league, glad he continues to get opportunities.
-
Yeah we love Harrell, well at least the fans do... And he is a safety net. Flynn has stated that he would like to sign an extension to be Rodgers backup, I guess I won't take that with a grain of salt, but he says he likes the culture on the team and he wants to win. Now usually QB's are the take charge type that want to play and win, so I guess we will wait and see. Enjoying Barnett? I still follow him on Twitter, he always gives shout outs to the fans. He just didn't fit in our system for the money we were paying him and he was outplayed at MLB. Hope he tears it up for you guys!
-
Well he is on our practice squad. Let's cut a deal for ummmm... say..... a 2nd round pick? I am about sick of hearing how Newton is the 2nd coming. He was facing the Cards D, yes we had an awful outing against Brees, but we were playing prevent for some of the game. We will come to play. So is yesterday's game bringing you guys optimism? Are you thinking to have a decent season or what? Beat the crap out of the Raiders, I think you can.
-
I still don't get it.....
-
Damn, I thought surely ARod would have number 1 for week 1!
-
Why do I feel like I am going to be the butt of something here? No pun intended... HAHA!
-
Yeah we started out strong but it is pretty much expected around here. I am a little nervouse because expectations are higher than ever. I think people will think the sky is falling when we lose for the first time, hopefully we can stay healthy and continue to play well. Too bad the Jets had to pull that one out last night. I enjoy watching them lose.

Not sure if anyone here remembers me, but oh well. I am a Packers fan that has a soft spot for the Bills. I have posted here and there but thought it was necessary to hop on and say congrats on the big win. Well played! I hope this is a sight of things to come for you boys. Good luck in the upcoming weeks and beat the RAIDERS!

Haha, well that is understood and he should be fine for that. I can't wait until the Packers play at The Ralph. I want to get out there for a game.

[quote name='foreplayer' timestamp='1312226156' post=Thank you for ruining my day...! Sorry about that big guy. He is good at times but does have the negatives that come with him, I just thought I would let you guys know from my insight.

His career best in sacks was 4. Not to say what you said has no merit, but that is not great for someone who plays nearly every down and blitzed a TON. He also had NO Forced Fumbles, NO INT, and NO Fumbles Recovered. Yeah he had 100 tackles which is great, but in the 3-4 you need more production out of your LBers. Just sayin. I am not trying to rain on your parade or tell you to not be excited, I just paid VERY close attention to what he does because I love him as a player. He is just undersized as an ILB and gets tossed around on the inside in the 3-4.

Hey guys, not sure if anyone remembers me but I am a Packer fan that has posted on here in the past. You may remember I tried to trade you Barnett.... Just wanted to give you a little bit of an idea of what you get when you have Nick Barnett on your team: Barnett was my favorite player for the Packers for years. I wanted him when we drafted him from Oregon State, and was jumping for joy when we drafted him. I even went to the point of calling the Packers Pro Shop and having them stitch me an authentic Barnett jersey before they made them. So here is a little bit from my perspective of having NB for the last 8 years: 1- Nick stepped in day 1 and started as our MLB when we were in the 4-3. He did incredibly well racking up 112 tackles and 2 sacks and 3 INT. He had won over the fans. 2- Nick has been consistent in his ability to get across both sidelines. He has speed and tracks the ball down. 3- Nick is better suited for a 4-3 than a 3-4. In the 4-3 when we ran it, we filtered everything through him, this explains the tackles being high. Since switching to the 3-4 he has not been quite as effective. 4- I believe NB is an OUTSIDE 3-4 LB. Yes, outside. He doesn't quite have the size to be an ILB in the system. He has the speed to blitz from the outside and force pressure but refuses to play the position. We talked to him about playing outside but he was not having it. I wanted to have Clay Matthews, AJ Hawk, Desmond Bishop, and Nick Barnett as our LB's. Get all of your best players on the field, you know? He threw a fit about it. 5- You do not get the turnovers from NB that you need out of you LBers. Turnovers or big plays for that matter. In 8 years, Barnett forced 9 INT and forced 2 fumbles. He also racked up 15.5 sacks. Yeah, that adds up to 1 pick a year, .25 FF a year, and just under 2 sacks a year. 6- You get a leader in the locker room. He is an emotional leader and is VERY vocal. This is something you cannot instill in someone. 7- You get a distraction. NB is a good guy but the man causes you headaches. It may be all fine and glory at the beginning, but sooner or later he starts to cause promlems (Remember the team picture, he wouldn't go to the team directly, he went out to the media). 8- You get Twitter posts. I love twitter, but Barnett tweets for a living. And he doesn't filter what he tweets. If he doesn't like something coach said or what another player did, he tells his thousands of followers about it. He stirs the pot. 9- You get a player who has been injured as of late. NB was the model of consistency in his first 5 years. He only missed 1 game in that time. He has been injured twice in the last 2 years with season ending injuries. He played in 4 games last year and in 9 games 3 years ago. I hope for your sake his body is ready to be up to the challenge. He is 30, so hopefully he can have a few more productive years. 10- You get a character. There is always something interesting going on when he is on your team. He is always talking, and always doing something goofy. He makes a splash when he enters the stadium during announcements. 11- I wanted to keep it to 10, but had to add this as well. I know Buffalo is a smaller market like GB. I live in GB, so I wanted to let you know of this. Barnett not only plays for your team, but he brings his posse with him. Yeah I said posse. HAHA. He is kind of ghetto if you know what I mean and all the dudes hang out in the bars all the time so some of you who live in the area may get to talk to him. He started a club called 5-6 when he was here that went under. It had a horrible reputation for having problems with the law and drugs all over the place. Hope that doesn't happen in Buffalo. So just some things for you just in case you didn't know a ton about Barnett. I still like the guy and wanted to keep him around on the Packers regardless of his negatives. His leadership is great. You may get sick of the Samurai celebration. He does it even when you are losing when he makes a big play. I defended it for years when my buddies would get pissed. So I hope you have great luck with him and have a great season. You have made some moves that immediately make you better IMO. Let me have it!
-
I had talked about him in another thread. He is a good player, a natural leader, but he has a mouth. We like him here in GB but at the price it is going to cost to keep him we have to unload him one way or the other. Just too much for a 3rd ILB. He averages about 100 tackles a year and is excellent in pass coverage. He has speed and plays smart. He will be starting for some team come September, (Please God let there BE games in September) just matters where.

Sorry, playoffs for the 2011 YEAR. And I am really sorry, I like the Bills and everything, but they are 2-3 years out.
-
I honestly thought about that but I think they are a year or two out yet.
-
So I was thinking about it and I know it is a LOOOOOONG way away and even farther since we don't even have a new CBA, and FA and the draft haven't even happened, but what teams do you think will reach the playoffs this upcoming year? Beak them down by AFC and NFC. AFC: 1- Baltimore- They are strong all the way around and I fully expect them to be the front runner in the AFC. Not completely sold on Flacco yet, but their D and O-Line will carry them. 2- San Diego- Everyone keeps saying that this is the year. Over and over, year after year. But I think PRiv and the crew put it together this year. 3- Indianapolis- They will get into the playoffs because they play in a weak division, a team IMO that is on the downslide. 4- New England- I am not a huge fan of Brady but they went 14-2 last year with guys like Woodhead. 5- Pittsburgh- Not the flashy team that we see all the time, but they just do what they do. 6- NYJ- HATE Rex Ryan but they put a winner out there. Tough D and if Sanchez gets hurt they may actually go further. NFC: 1- Green Bay- Core nucleus is coming back and all the IR players. This is a deep young team. 2- Atlanta- Strong team all the way around. Play like beasts at home. 3- Philadelphia- If Vick plays like he did last year, watch out. 4- San Fransisco- They have too many 1st round picks to be bad. If they get someone worth half a grain of salt at QB they could be a contender. 5- New Orleans- Brees is just too good to be sitting at home in January. They make it, but they are not as strong as 2009. 6- Dallas- Hate the Cowgirls but they do have talent on their roster. I think they put it into play this year. So that is my list. A few different teams from this year, but not too many. I am sure there are some posters that will have different ideas, but post them! And like I said, it is EARLY and A LOT will happen between now and the season, I am just judging on what ball clubs normally do between draft/FA.

They should have a big picture of me on there. HAHAHA! Now only if I could kill off the other 112,157 people my master plan would be complete! J/K!!!!
