Mort reports tremendous progress for Fitz contract
White Linen replied to FluffHead's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Being burned by "early-season success" once since 1996 is hardly an excuse to not lock up Fitz. -
Chandler's Disappearing Act
White Linen replied to IronyAbounds's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I disagree with almost all of you. Especially those that think teams are scheming for Scott Chandler. No disrespect to Chandler but that's laughable. I think it's much more of a simple answer. We have a lot of options in the passing game, and a coach that has interchangable parts coming in and out of the game, guys are moving around, etc. A guy or two will become as the poster would say invisible, but then in another game will have a breakout day. I think Chandler will have a big game and we'll see a guy like Nelson's numbers go down. If any of you play fantasy you'll know what I mean. Just take the Patriots, the Saints, and the Colts (when Manning was playing) for example. Besides their obvious number one targets it's nearly impossible to start any other receiver on those teams, because they just spread the ball around too much. They have so many weapons and a coach that has so many different sets. I think that's the simple answer to Chandler's lack of involvement. Spiller got involved in the passing game Sunday, next week it will be someone else. I think this is a testiment to the talent on our team and our coach that is utilizing everyone. I think it's obvious teams would struggle to gameplan against us in regards to shutting down one specific target. I think teams try to shut down Stevie Johnson, but beyond him, where would they start? -

Is there any doubt we need a FRANCHISE QB ?
White Linen replied to Reed'scatch83's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
With all due respect "you win and lose as a team" is oversimplifying. Fitz took a crucial sack with penty of time to get the ball out of his hands that took us out of field goal range. The two interceptions where poorly under thrown balls, and basically the same patern and the same mistake. The o line controlled the line of scrimmage for him almost all day and on those 3 particular plays it was all Fitz. They were subsequently the reason we lost. I really like Fitz so I'm not bashing on him. But I bet he'd take responsibility for this loss. As he should. I could see if they were tipped balls or if he was under extreme pressure, but that's not the case, he just didn't get it done and it cost us the game. Florence didn't play well but Fitz had the game in his hands to win. -
The Bills lost today because....
White Linen replied to Just Jack's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Nothing. Fitz lost this game on his own. I had a bad feeling we were going to lose by a field goal when Fitz took the sack knocking us out of field goal range. So disappointing, this is how our QB's of old acted. -

There isn't one successful GM that doesn't value draft picks.

What makes you think we would have him for the next 3 years?

I don't know you but... Welcome back and I think I speak for most Bills fans, it's been a fun year so far.

Bills sign WR Tim Toone to practice squad
White Linen replied to papazoid's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I mentioned more players than Martin in response to Kamar being the only player on our roster capable of being a #2 wide receiver. -
Bills sign WR Tim Toone to practice squad

You're saying you evaluated Kamar to be more valuable than Jones, Easley, Roosevelt, and Martin? You think the Bills brass whiffed on Kamar 4 times over? -
BUFFALO's BACK (New Bills Anthem and Video)
White Linen replied to NYFlava1's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I honestly did not like that at all. -
Do they have the elastic sleeves or the open ones? I think the authentic have elastic where they come in tight at the bottom of the sleeve, right?

Yes Nix has "simply ignored the gaping hole at OLB". What is his problem? He's had one full off season and a shortened off season from the strike to fix everything about this team. That should be plenty of time. He's asleep at the wheel. We obviously aren't getting better with him and Gailey at the helm. Frankly I'm ready to move on. Just another on a long list of Ralphy's boys that just leave us fans without an OLB or Right Tackle.

I'd hate to be anything like George Soros.

Can Bills fans survive losing a couple of games?
White Linen replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The more important question is, can the team survive a loss? Can they lose to a team like the Bengals bounce back and win against a team like the Eagles? -
Who does Fitz remind you of?
White Linen replied to HarvardHowitzer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He reminds me of Drew Brees for the following reasons: - Leadership - pretty accurate - has success by throwing the ball when other QB's normally wouldn't - doesn't have the strongest arm on a throw by throw comparison but has a strong throw when that's needed - believes in his receivers - has a strong relationship with his coach and the coach has a strong gameplan - doesn't ever seem nervous - makes those around him better -

The 3 T(s) to beating the Patriots
White Linen replied to Peace Frog's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Buffalo should dominate the three T's like Brett Favre does. Now there's a guy that when he runs he goes faster. -
I'll submit we have to a good bit more than that.

He's really going to miss Hernandez - http://www.bostonherald.com/sports/football/patriots/view.bg?articleid=1367222&srvc=sports&position=recent

SJBF I didn't think you were being heated at all, you're just an obviously passionate fan that loves Jackson. An honest debate is all we're having. But I'll submit we agree more than disagree on the entire topic. I'll also say you've said a mouthful about several topics in your response, some of which I think are unrelated. First off you've picked a good one to be your favorite player. I'm going to go out on a limb and say I think he's the best decision making RB the Bills have ever had. Second make no mistake about one thing. Buddy Nix is running this organization. Since Buddy Nix took over (remember just one full off season and one shortened one), finances haven't been an issue in regards to Buddy's ability to make this team better. And he's done a spectacular job. Just one example is Middle LB. Could you imagine if we signed Dansby or Poz for 8+ million and didn't have Barnett? And what the implications of having a contract like that on our hands would handcuff this team? So far Buddy has been true to his word. He said they will keep the good players already on this team, won't overpay for FA's, and will develop through the draft. Freddie, Fitz, and Johnson will be taken care of and shored up long term. Now back to the timing issue. This is where you and I disagree. Obviously for me it's a bigger issue. First off I don't think Nix gives a damn that he went public with his annoyance, so in that regard it's not going to help him one bit. Fred isn't getting a new contract during the season, so I guess he'll have to live with the 14 additional games added to his career life. So for me Good Soldier - Bad Soldier doesn't matter in respect to getting the contract. I just merely stated he didn't act like a "Good Soldier". Teams always want the new contract to take effect the following year. He's a captain and I don't think he acted like one. Would you be ok if Fitz did the same thing? He's in a similar situation. I'd be appalled.
