  1. I agree with you that trading back up is most likely unnecessary, but sometimes GM's here some chatter about a player we're not privy to. Buddy said "there will be two long time starting QB's that come out of this draft, and that's a fact" and the more important sentence "they key is figuring out which two it is and that's what we're doing now". To me this means he must have a stat that says two starters come out of every draft. Now the hard part is doing your work and hope you picked one of them.
  2. I agree with No Saint, in that you've taken quite an aggressive approach to getting your answer. You do know you're not just talking to trolls when you say "you don't care", it's everyone else that you bother. Kind of immature if you ask me. Like No Saint said it's not that you really don't know and would like to, it's that you don't want to take the time to search if the answer is there for you to read, it's you don't care about anyone's time. If you just made a mistake here that's cool, and I'll offer the shoutbox is a good resource for questions like this.
  3. He's not like Losman at all except for maybe arm strength and mobility. But his footwork is light years better and more importantly his pocket presence. I don't think he's inaccurate either. His receivers drop a lot and I mean a lot of balls. He takes gambles so maybe there's another JP similarity, but I don't think I'd draw any conclusions from it.
  4. And everybody else is having fun signing guys.
  5. Normally I'd agree that you go QB as it's the most important position obviously. But I don't like Smith personally. Dion Jordon will never be there, but if he is I turn in my card as fast as I can. Geno is going to disappoint some team.
  6. I've got to disagree with you here on the arm strength. I see very little torque needed or used. He's got a quick release with natural speed on the ball. He stays on top of the ball where you see a guy like Landry leading with his elbow either to much or too long. Also if you look at Geno he has to crouch down to generate velocity, to me Dysert can generate the velocity and still stand up. The evidence of what I'm talking about his he still throws very hard on the run where Torque works against you.
  7. To me he's the only QB coming out with the total package in regards to skill sets. He's got excellent footwork and throwing mechanics (near perfect), good pocket presence, not a runner but can scramble, good size, experienced, quick release, and a very strong arm. He's got that quick flick strong throw. He takes too many risks probably from a little over confidence in his arm strength or maybe he's just trying to make something happen on a team that needs him to do that. I think that can be coached, where many of the other things mentioned really can't. His pro day is March 21st and I'm sure the Bills will be there. I'd take him in the second round and wouldn't blink. I've debated a few folks around TBD as I understand I'm in the minority. Beyond my eyes (which do decieve me often), I have a gut feeling about this kid. I think with a mentoring type of coach like Marrone and with his skills he's the kind of QB we're looking for. If you haven't familiarized yourself with Zac check him out. Below is a highlight link, but I'd recommend the ohio state game and boise game. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qlt66vdmIrQ
  8. Don't you know Belichick would have had the same success with any QB?
  9. But how would these players from smaller universities get invited to play in the minor league - versus the kid from Alabama that didn't get drafted?
  10. I'd argue upper body and arm workouts would diminish arm strength. I think you can improve arm strength a little but not significantly. It's kind of one of those things that you just naturally have by all the things other posters above have mentioned coming together. Hate to sound cliche but to have a strong arm ready for the NFL is a gift.
  11. He's a great college QB, but imo opinion his game won't work in the pros. At 6'1" and 200 lbs he is going to be susceptible to getting hurt real bad. I think at best he could have a Jake Plummer type career, but I don't think he'll even get there.
  12. Do scouts ever use stats or should you ever use stats without scouting?
  13. You see the future huh? So let's just spend every dime we have in free agency because YOU don't like who's coming out in the draft. Guess what cheese ball picking eight you'd be picking from the same crop of QB's anyway. Oh but you're probably so smart you know the second tier of QB's will be better next year.
  14. Every single NFL team has holes and non of them have adequete depth. It's a ruse and a farce to believe that. The salary cap doesn't allow for depth. Why the hell does it have to be said over and over again? The common denominator to win is having the QB position resolved. This team has enough talent to win right now with a good QB and could win a superbowl with a great one. Everything you do in FA or the draft becomes relevant when you have a QB, without one nothing is. I don't give a damn how good your O line and D line and Safety, and CB depth is, if you don't have a QB you have nothing. Everything and I mean everything teams like Miami did will go for naught if Tannehill doesn't become a top 10 QB. Nix has done a good job, but he hasn't found a QB. But to complain about depth is so ridiculous I can't stand it anymore. Be "active in free agency"? for what? They went all in last year because they thought Fitz had a chance to lead us, he didn't. Blame that on Nix, but not a lot else. Good god.
  15. I feel bad too, so I'll reply to your reply.
  16. Word is he was a locker room problem. But I've seen him play and he gets open. I think he's got a real good skill set that could definetely help our team.
  17. You don't upgrade it when other areas aren't broken their shattered.
  18. Why do you say Manuel has IT? I haven't heard a lot out of him so I'm curious.
  19. We lose a guard and our fan base goes nuts. See what happens when you have a great QB, it doesn't matter who leaves.

  21. I wouldn't say it's worse, same old dribble. Understandable though, a team without a QB that gives you hope is a terrible thing.
  22. Oh damn, good work. I did take you seriously. The yoke's on me.
  23. I'm not trying to piss you off but Levitre wasn't our best player. If you truly believe that than we have worse problems than you mention. Not to disrespect the importance of the o-line but if I had my druthers and had to let a very good player walk in free agency, I'd hope it's a guard every single time. I'd also disagree that it's the "worst QB draft ever". Granted there's not a blue chip(s) QB, but picking 8 with 4-6 teams potentially needing a QB ahead of us you're picking from the same crop anyway. I'd be more pissed if there was a couple obvious stars knowing there's no chance we'd get one at 8, or if we had pick 1 or 2 in this years draft. Look we one 6 games man, we're picking 8th, it's not anyone's fault, they just have to find a diamond. It's a difficult thing finding a QB, i'm frustrated too.
