Is Marcus Easley this teams version of Steve Tasker?
covac23 replied to VirginiaMike's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He's a valuable asset on Special Teams and good depth at WR if we ever need him. I hope he stays a Bill for a long time. -
It doesn't look like any players went to IR. This may be one of the first season openers I can remember that no Bills players got seriously injured. Goodwin got hurt, but I think he's OK. But at halftime, I was thinking, "God EJ, I hope you didn't tough out an MCL tear and are now going to tell the coaches you felt a 'pop." We lost the game, the pats didn't win it. But i'm just glad we didn't lose anymore key players.

Byrd wants a contract that is similar to Weddle and Goldson's. I say offer him a contract based on his performance compared to Weddle and Goldson's. Use their contracts as a starting point and adjust Byrd's proposed contract based on his past performance in comparison to these guys. Is he worth a long term contract? I think so. http://www.nfl.com/p...d/79899/profile http://www.nfl.com/p...2495775/profile http://www.nfl.com/p...2495611/profile

I contacted him about a friend of mine's wife who is struggling with her cancer. The fact that he responded to me multiple times and gave me contact information of someone with the Bills who may be able to help and said that he would follow up with the Bills organization was way more than I expected. Good player, better man.

How Long Have You Been A Bills Fan And When Did You Know?
covac23 replied to H2o's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I realized I was in for the long haul after Norwood missed that field goal. I was 5 years old and I responded to it by crying in the bathtub. -
I really think that Chris Johnson is going to come back this year with a very much improved O-Line blocking for him. Warmack and Levitre are huge upgrades to that line

I just picked up an authentic white jersey of my favorite Bill of all time....Chris Spielman. But it got me thinking, whose jersey do you usually rock every Sunday?

Have you ever worn Bills gear to an away game?
covac23 replied to \GoBillsInDallas/'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Steelers preseason game years ago....I caught some flak on the trolley, the city bus, using the restroom and got a full can of beer thrown at me in the parking lot. Would I do it again? Absolutely. -
Hard to believe Marcell Dareus is only 22

Hard to believe Marcell Dareus is only 22

I understand you're pointing out that Marcell had a job to do, irregardless of personal life issues, like any employer would like at it. But putting a timetable on someone's grieving period is something I don't think I can agree with. He even said it took a toll on him personally and professionally. http://www.buffalorumblings.com/2012/12/13/3762506/buffalo-bills-marcell-dareus-simeon-gilmore-murder But to answer your question, you should ask someone who's little brother was murdered and they'll be able to tell you how long it lasts. -

IMO, the two are incomparable considering Marcell has been productive in professional football, unlike Maybin. -

That is why I never jumped on the "Why is Marcell underperforming this year?" train. He's really still a kid in a grown man's body who I think, hard a time dealing with his brother's untimely murder. But what's really disappointing is when you type "Marcell Dareus" in Google, the third result is "bust." The fact that some are putting Marcell in the same category as Aaron Maybin as a "Bust" isn't right. GO BILLS!!! -
Don't know if this was posted, but I like this article. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2013/01/10/ex-jet-lauds-pettine-says-bills-might-have-better-players-now/

Per rotoworld, which I know many think isn't a reliable source, but figured i'd post it. http://www.rotoworld.com/headlines/nfl/253785/former-jets-dc-mike-pettine-lands-with-bills

Chan NOT the man for the job going forward.
covac23 replied to BuffaloBillsForever's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
7 carries for Spiller. 9 carries for Fred-Ex. 31 passes for Fitz. This is the play calling of a delusional HC/Offensive Coordinator. Conditions were wet and sloppy in the 2nd half which was Chan’s reasoning for the run game last week against Jacksonville. Is Chan trying to outsmart everybody? Does Chan know what he has in the run game with the Spiller/Fred-Ex combo? I don’t know. But it seems that Chan Gailey is the only person in the world who doesn’t realize that Spiller is a PLAYMAKER and that Fred-Ex might be the best 3rd down back to have in the league. -
Very winnable game but 1. Fitzy missed multiple opportunities for scores. (Pass to Spiller in the 1st on the offsides call and pass to d. jones, Int in the 4th thank god Stevie saved it, decision making in general). I love his attitude and he’s a hell of a teammate, blocking on almost every run, but he just doesn’t have the talent to be a winning quarterback. 2. Wannstedt’s ineffectiveness to adjust to offenses. (Cover 2 literally every play and lack of blitzing which last time I knew, was utilized in the NFL) 3. Chan’s play calling (how many ever straight quarters (7+) without an offensive TD and our redzone offense, his 3 yr. record and his lack of admitted knowledge of what’s wrong with the defense. Also, the one dimensional play calling when ahead or behind, way too pass happy. No Balls on 4th downs. Why would you put the game on our defense with 3 mins left? Why Chan? Also, Spiller is setting records for avg. yp carry and yet, we don’t really run the ball.). 4. RALPH WILSON (Ineffectiveness as an NFL owner in the 21st century). Plus, do you remember a game when we actually dominated a game with Chan as the HC? I mean both sides of the ball? Being a Bills fan has been the most frustrating and embarrassing element in my life in the 21st century(which shows how blessed I am), but this team is making records for all the wrong reasons and until something is done, like cleaning house completely, for the umpteenth time , we will never be respectable or competitive. I know I’m missing a lot, like Buddy Nix, but I’ve been drinking watching this damn Colts game. This is the best I can do for now.

Plain and simple: This team has no balls with Chan Gailey as the HC. Honestly, I don't remember the last time this team had any balls. When the Texans are going for it on 4th down with the lead in the 4th quarter and we haven't gone for it on 4th on multiple occassions throughout the game behind against a 6-1 team, on the road, with the opportunity to make a statement to our Division and the League, it shows that Kubiak has CONFIDENCE in his players and offense and that Chan doesn't. Our conservative OFFENSIVE playcalling on and our passive DEFENSIVE playcalling, which blitzed early and caused confusion and break ups early in the game, shot themselves in the feet. This game was winnable and was just embarrassing from a coaching point of view as the game progressed. (We blitzed at the beginning of the game and got sacks and made Schaub throw early. I've heard people say on this site that we SHOULDN'T blitz because our secondary's weak. If anything, BLITZ TO COMPENSATE FOR OUR WEAK SECONDARY, which I don't think we have even though Aaron Williams has good coverage but horrible awareness. Also, our Offensive Mastermind CG seems to reach 3rd down awfully quick on EVER SINGLE OFFENSIVE POSSESSION.) We are and always going to be a bunch of pussies when we have a kitty as a HC. We have problems. And a passive and Pass Happy Head Coach with tiny balls isn't going to solve them. Once this team gets new ownership, I think we will truly REBUILD. LIVE AND DIE BILLS

Bills hit with lawsuit over text messages
covac23 replied to Beerball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
On average, maybe 5-7 a week. And I'm including the two that I get on Sunday regarding the game. Thousands since last month?!!? That's ridiculious -
We NEVER blitz
-
It's getting extremely frustrating seeing the same defensive play called almost every play so far this season. Our extremely passive cover 2, rush front 4 has gotten comically predictable. A win is a win though and we're back to square one on the season. Ten games left, 4 way tie. Go Bills and blitz more than two plays a game!!!

Quotes like this don't inspire hope...
covac23 replied to quinnearlysghost88's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Don't give the receivers a ten yard cushion off the line. That was one of the major problems I saw in the game. -
Our secondary gives way to much of a cushion. Our front 4 doesn't have enough pressure. Fitzpatrick made poor decisions.(That Cromartie int. was AWFUL!!!) We looked extremely unprepared and frankly much less aggressive than the Jets. I'm typing this with 12 minutes left in the game. Please put me in my place and let me know why I should have hope in this year's team compared to the last 12 years team. Unfortunately, our only highlight looks like Spiller is ready to start. GO BILLS!!!! PLEASE!!!

@ Just Jack: I'll post some pics for ya. @ Hammered a Lot: No hat and we'll probably have Bud Light for the ladies and Yuengling (cans) for myself. Hahaha I hope to see some of you guys because besides being a diehard Bills fan, I'm a diehard football drunk. Bills 17, Steelers 14. GO BILLS!!!
