Quarterbacks Behaving Badly
Turbosrrgood replied to CosmicBills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Exactly, they had witnesses, including the girl herself, police officers, and other people at the bar. The DA with all of that determined that there wasn't anything that proved he committed a crime. The girl willingly got drunk and went in alone with Ben, that was admitted by everyone. Regardless of proof, he is a scumbag, I am not arguing that. But no one knows for sure that he necessarily did anything illegal. Vick knowingly, intentionally, repeatedly, while sober, and just for fun, tortured defenseless dogs in sick ways I hope most of us couldn't conceive. If you are a "people before dogs" person fine, but that doesn't excuse Vick's mind set while doing this. Also this is a known crime against unwilling participants. The fact that he said he's "sorry" doesn't have anything to do with it, the question is what is wrong with Vick that he could do that in the first place. In fact Ben said he's "sorry" too. -
Robert Quinn DE UNC, #1 overall pick
Turbosrrgood replied to balln's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Quinn is a beast, I would not be disappointed in this pick. Actually, I would much prefer him over Fairly. He makes Von Miller look like Van Miller -
Quarterbacks Behaving Badly
Turbosrrgood replied to CosmicBills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
whats wrong with you people? Ben supposedly got drunk and fooled around with an equally irresponsible drunk girl, who I'm sure was impressed by the "celebrity" and was looking for a possible pay day. People do drunk stupid things all the time in bars. There was a reason he wasn't charged with a crime, this was no "innocent school girl" this was a drunk bar slut looking for a good time and then her 15 mins. Ben is an idiot and a dirt bag for the way it played out, but not a criminal. Vick ADMITTED to do sick sadistic things to Dogs. It's not necessarily even the dog fighting that makes it bad, its the torture he did to the dogs afterwards. This shows a pretty sick thought process. He maimed, tortured, and killed dogs and slow painful ways, and did it for FUN...He served time because of it. This is no contest, Vick is a sick criminal, Ben is just a scumbag. -
+1 I know its always a lot easier to look back and say we should have done this or that...but can you imagine getting a guy like Blount (who is an every down back, highly unlikely spiller ever will be) later in the draft and spending that 1st pick on top level OT talent that was available? I am not writing him off yet, be did NOTHING to impress me last year. You would think he would have at least a FEW memorable highlights. At best he looks like a change of pace back, not CJ2K... Please prove me wrong spiller...

BTW, I took the test myself because I was curious about the questions. They are mostly easy questions based on logic, simple math, and finding patterns. The difficulty in the test is finishing all 50 questions in 12 minutes. It requires very quick thinking and calculating, and after taking it I understand why it is used to judge football players and QB's in particular. I've always been a good test taker and scored a 34. It makes you realize exactly how slow(mind wise) and dumb Vince Young is (who got a 6), and how quick thinking and smart Fitzpatrick must be (who got a 50). I would be curious to see what Newton scores... They said the average score for football players is 21, I think the average score for everyone else is probably closer to 30 lol... EDIT: actually the average for "normal people" is 24

What he said...This test mainly applies to QUARTERBACKS, since they have much more responsibility. They have to be able to read defenses, call audibles, read hot routes, scan 5+ recievers, recognize blitzers ect...and do it in a split second. The only other position the might even come CLOSE to requiring that level of intelligence is maybe a MLB Just curious, what did McKelvin score? Have you listened to him talk? my guess is 1 or 0 ....

The comparison of Newton's situation to Maybin's is a little ridiculous. Maybin did exactly 1 thing well in college for 1 year, speed rush. Maybin was also fairly undersized for his position. Newton proved through the course of the year that he had many talents, obviously his running and mobility, but also accurate smart throws both short and long (far more accurate than Tebow). Newton also has terrific size for his position and abilities, something Maybin did not. Newton was the unquestioned leader of his team, which he took to, and won, the national championship (these weren't even a thought with Maybin). Don't get me wrong there are some questions about Newton (can he read defenses, was it the scheme?), but he has the most talent and ability of any of the other WAY OVERRATED QB's in this draft. He proved in his 1 year he has NFL talent far beyond Maybin did. Would he (or any other QB) be able to succeed in Buffalo though, that is the question. With his mobility, at least he has a shot...

new gbn mock - first three rounds
Turbosrrgood replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah, you can just throw a bunch of names in a hat and make a mock draft like this... 8P San Diego (from Tennessee) Marcel Dareus LB Texas A&M Wow, and I thought he was a DT from Alabama... -
Cool post and everything, obviously this guy is really strong. Unfortunately it's proven every year that being a work out freak doesn't make you a good football player. In fact, from watching that video of him playing against what looked like junior high football teams, he looked mediocre at best, and seemed to be blocked with ease by puny walk-on O-linesman. I'll say a big no thanks to this guy. Hey makes Leif Larson look like a pro bowler. Also, since when is a 5.2 40 time "blazing fast" !?!? That is probably about average for O and D linesmen. Now if you are recruiting someone to pick up cars, or flip tractor tires...this is your guy...

Jack Locker can't hit the broadside of a barn
Turbosrrgood replied to 1B4IDie's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Make no mistake, I agree. I don't want locker, or Mallet for that matter (Statue QB's can't survive in the NFL, and he's a douche). -
Pat Moran:inside source has us taking
Turbosrrgood replied to BeastMode54's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This kid can play. I loved Fairly in college, but might even prefer Jordan over him. This kid is a beast, with long strong arms, power, and acceleration. He plays hard. I think a lot of people are saying "don't take him at 3" purely based on some of the early mock drafts out there. Just because some "expert" has him going 10 picks later in the draft, doesn't mean he is a worse player (See Aaron Maybin, Mike Williams or any other touted high pick bust) There has been talk of him being a top 10 or even top 5 pick, even if some mock drafts (which will change 30 times before the draft) have him lower. Yeah, Vick was awful last year... -
Jack Locker can't hit the broadside of a barn
Turbosrrgood replied to 1B4IDie's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Why? Isn't that what forums are for? The Bills obviously are at least considering a QB at some point in the draft. If the Bills do take one it would be big news that would excite some fans, and having others claim it was a bad decision. What's wrong with asking others opinions? What would you rather talk about? Taxes? Curling? BTW, I watched the competition and the headline of this post were the first thoughts that came to my mind...This guy can't hit the broadside of a barn...He couldn't do it all year during game play either. Maybe he would be worth the risk in the 3rd, just like Trent... -
Bills Mentioned In CBA - Let The Truth Be Known
Turbosrrgood replied to T master's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't know if I would call Wilson and Brown the "smarter owners". As much as I love the Bills, outside of the early 90's most of their teams have been pretty bad. A lot of that had to do with very poor management decisions, and promoting Ralph's "friends" to lead football operations. And the Bengals, well they are the Bengals. They voted how they did, because they are the smallest market teams and would be negatively effected by the new agreement. I guess I don't get it...besides the teams and the play? Isn't THAT the super bowl? It was great in my opinion. I'll agree with you here, that show was awful. But SB shows never really entertained me anyway, I watch for the football... -
No Matter Who You Want At #3
Turbosrrgood replied to BuffaloBaumer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm going back to before the national championship, and many people were talking about the strong QB draft class with Newton as a 2nd or 3rd. I still think its possible for him to have a "claussen" drop. He's got those question marks we hear every year, shotgun/option offense, wasn't asked to read the defense (except in regard to option plays), run first QB, questionable football IQ... I do like him, there is every chance he could be the pick at 3...theres just as good of a chance he takes a big slide with so many other QB's being talked about. I don't see Newton as a Shannahan type QB, I bet they take Ponder or Gabbert Life as a Bills fan... -

Turbosrrgood replied to BuffaloBaumer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I like Newton and wouldn't be mad if he was the pick at 3...I am just shell shocked from the long line of busts, and Newton is definitely more of a gamble that high than a guy like Luck. -

Turbosrrgood replied to BuffaloBaumer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Maybe trade back back into the 1st, maybe trade down, maybe he falls to the 2nd. Before Luck dropped out of the running Newton was considered a 2nd or 3rd round pick by many. Now all of the sudden he's being talked about as a top 5...I don't buy it. I like him, I'd just prefer one of the defensive studs at 3 or even green. -

Turbosrrgood replied to BuffaloBaumer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Locker is awful, this guy is all hype no production. It's great to have "all the tools" and everything, but if you cant the broad side of a barn it won't do much good. Did you watch the "skills" competition? Not only could he not hit the targets, he wasn't even close. The thought of Cam Newton running an option offense with spiller makes me all tingly in the special place...I still wouldn't take him at 3 though. -

Well considering some of those listed were projected LB's and a WR...Your post is a little off, and the management has already long since proven themselves incompetent. -
No Matter Who You Want At #3
Turbosrrgood replied to BuffaloBaumer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agreed, I'd even throw Quinn in there. Probably not getting one of those guys if you trade down though, they could all be gone by pick 5. -
No Matter Who You Want At #3
Turbosrrgood replied to BuffaloBaumer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The scary part is, it's usually hard to go wrong with a #3...but nobody messes up their draft better than the Bills. In the last 10+ years we have only had 2 (maybe 3)1st rounders that I can think of that have even become legitimate starters and no superstars. Sorry I'm not feeling optimism...especially guys with huge question marks like Von Miller and Cam Newton being talked about. -
Can Kyle Williams play DE in a 3-4?
Turbosrrgood replied to freester's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
They should certainly give it a try. Personally I think he (Kyle) could be impressive as a 3-4 end. Please no Shaun Rodgers though. A Fat, slow, unmotivated, injury prone, low character guy would NOT help our team. He is washed up and can only play a few downs at a time anyway. -
Shaun Rodgers getting cut...
Turbosrrgood replied to The Tomcat's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't want to burst any bubbles, but has anyone else actually watched Rodgers play the last few years? He was great sometimes in detriot, but did next to NOTHING in cleveland. He usually is not in good shape, has never been able to play every down even going back to detroit, takes many plays off, and is frequently injured. Remember when the two big DT free agents were Stroud and Rodgers? Looks like we both lost... To top it off, he has character issues and supposedly has not been very popular on his teams. Dwan was healthy and starting most of the year....but he was invisible... -
Report: Dolphins NT Soliai to hit open market
Turbosrrgood replied to Marshmallow's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
As much as I like Williams, he is not big enough to be a NT in a 3-4 defense (much like VM is also not big enough). Williams would be great rotating in in certain packages. I hope Troupe surprises, but most "experts" thought it was a stretch taking him in the 2nd, and I have not seen anything remotely special from him. Besides, he isn't really THAT big anyway for the NT position (6-3, 314). Bottom line is, we can try to survive with what we have (LAST PLACE RUN D). Or we can try to get better. I don't know if Soliai is the answer, but we need something. Remember what Ted Washington and then Pat Williams did for our defenses? Thats what we need. -
Has anyone seen the new uniforms? Does it have an L.A. logo on it?...

Wait, the Bengals had the same OC since 2001, despite only one good season? Haha, maybe the Bills front office isn't the worst after all.... And JAY Gruden? Sounds like they are just trying to trick fans, with the experienced Gruden's younger brother... If Palmer really doesn't come back, Cincy will be the new home of Andrew Luck next year...
