+1, this is a guy who is a physical specimen, but has limited knowledge of football at best...This was a roll the dice pick. Having said that, Troupe was a stretch, everyone other than the Bills thought that at the time. So far he has done next to nothing on the field...Kyle Williams is a beast, but he shouldn't be playing nose tacke, thats not his game and he should be at end, or a penetrating tackle in a 4-3. So the Bills still NEED a big guy for NT, unfortunately I think they will have to keep looking.

Yikes, looking back at all those names is scary. Completely and horribly blew the early rounds (although so far ALL of those receivers look like busts), with some redemption later on. I didn't like McKelvin before the draft, I like him even less now. He's just simply not that good. Corner is ok considering where he was drafted. SJ obviously worked out. It really bothers me that the Bills standards have dropped so low that we consider Bell to be a "good" player now. He has improved and looked ok, but most teams have much better left OT's than him...Having said that, good job as a 7th rnd pick. Overall D...You have to hit the early picks... Only 2 starters, and they were lucky draws in the 7th rnd.

Excellent point...And it's not like the front 7 was ignored, we used HALF of our draft picks on our front 7, all with run stuffing ability. Another terrific point.

Different GM (having a GM at all actually), new coach...Much more sensible drafting (Spiller was questionable, but at least he was "rated" very highly). Personally I see much more common sense, and more picks that address team needs than in the past. You might be on your own with that opinion my friend.

I don't get the disregarding of Dareus and Sheppard? They used 4 of their 9 picks on the front seven, including 2 of the first 3. How are they not trying to build the front 7 again? I understand the concern about Merriman, but like it our not he is the starter right now. They also have Moats as a pass rusher, and Kelsey looked pretty good in that role last year also. Don't forget about Batten who never played last year. You want them to use every single pick on the front seven, regardless of available talent? It just doesn't make a lot of sense to me. And last year they used their 2nd round pick on their big (although not yet effective) NT, Troupe.

All a matter of opinion, the Bills are likely losing their best DB talent this year, they need to fill the void. Personally Id prefer NOT to waste a pick on JP Losman 2... I liked Houston, and would have been happy with that pick also, but at least right now Merriman is the starter at that position. I really liked the Sheppard pick, a big run stuffing LB with coverage ability. To say the team should never draft a CB again because they have in the past is a little ridiculous.

I personally LIKED the DB picks...People forget that Florence, and Whitner are probably gone, with McGee possibly washed up and forever injured. Thats 3 of our 4 starters from last year...So yeah, DB was as big of a need as any. I also think the guys they got were great values, and some of the best at their positions. Having said that, saying you are "embarrassed" of this board and insinuating posters that you don't agree with are "half-wits" is much worse in my opinion than the people "complaining" about DB's and late round picks... Why wouldn't people question what the FO does? The Bills have been one of the worst teams in football over the last 10+ years. This is a board to talk about the BILLS, when they are bad, people will talk about WHY.

I would normally agree with that, but this was a VERY weak draft for DB talent (yeah yeah, then why take 3, i know). There weren't considered to be any starting quality DB's after round 2. Williams might start, or play nickel on opening day. Searcy is probably a back up safety. I also wanted a pass rushing LB like Houston, but the fact that we have Merriman (maybe?), and that we took one of, if not THE, best run stuffing LB's in the draft satisfies me. I just get the feeling from this draft that our defense improved at every level....Until they start playing and reality comes crashing back in....

People keep forgetting the Bills NEEDED DB's. Whitner gone, McGee can't stay healthy, Florence probably gone...Uhh thats 3 of our 4 starters. They grabbed a CB with a 1st rnd rating in Williams. They grabbed maybe the biggest and most physical safety in the draft (4th rnd) in Searcy.... Even with taking Williams they still got one of the best LB's in the draft in Sheppard. These are great need picks. Oh yeah, and the beast that is Dareus which also fills our BIGGEST NEED....Whats to whine about here until we see them play?

That is a joke of a website, and even bigger joke of an "article". Is the guy a Jets fan? Pretty much every other review ranks this draft highly for the Bills for once. Not taking one of the ridiculously overrated QB's was one of my favorite things about this draft. We also got the single best player in the entire draft (Dareus)...IMO of course, and this is coming from a pure pessimist..

I was as pessimistic as ever going into this draft, and while there is by no means any guarantee that we have improved, I felt pretty good about the selections. Here are some of my main points why I feel our FO actually did pretty well for once. 1) I believe we drafted the best player in the draft PERIOD in Dareus. This guy is big, powerful, can rush the passer and play the run. A lot of people liked VM, and while he may be good I personally think we needed to add more size and power...not a pure pass rusher. Thank you Denver and Carolina for making this happen.... 2) Almost as important as that, maybe more so. We did NOT roll the dice on any of the ridiculously overrated QB's in this draft. Fitz may not be great, but he is better than any of them. I doubt any of those guys will end up being great starting QB's. 3) We didn't "reach" for anybody, or take any head scratchers. That seemed to be an annual thing until now (Troupe(reach), Maybin (there was WAY better talent available), Whitner (reach, ranked as bottom 1st rnd), McCargo (who?), Losman.... 4) While I really would have liked Justin Houston in the 3rd, they took a highly rated run stuffing LB with size instead. A very logical pick, and shows a real desire to fix one of the Bills biggest problems. 5) Yes the Bills took 3 DB's, but each of them were great values and that was actually a position of great need even though it wasn't really talked about. Whitner gone, McGee can't stay healthy, Florence probably gone, McKelvin sucks. Williams was one of the highest rated corners in this draft, he is big and aggressive. Searcy is a big physical safety. 6) Addressed needs, and didn't take any flashy luxury picks. Even two offensive picks were needs (especially tackle), and both guys were rated highly at that point in the draft. 7) Used their last pick to roll the dice on a boom or bust guy. 400 lb NT. Even more important since they can't sign UDFA's. Of course the Bill's will probably suck as always, but at least I can feel like we improved this time around.

You have to keep in mind when you watch that video that they are basically showing ONLY successful plays for Ponder, which generally won't coincide with a successful play by Quinn. Although watching plays specifically where Quinn is not really involved still makes me think highly of him. It seems that he really follows the game plan, keeps contain well on running plays. He shows the ability to blitz from any angle or position, and has inside moves. What I took more from this video though, is that Ponder looks a whole lot like Trent Edwards. His arm does not impress me in the least, lots of "ducks" and short throws. The one area where he DOES look good is pocket presence. He seemed able to read blitzes well and get rid of the ball quickly. He might "fit" for the Bills, but do we really need another lack luster stop gap QB? (no) Forget about the stats, regardless of what teams they played. All college teams play against some soft opponents, and that is usually when they have their best games. He looked dominant against multiple teams, and plays a complete game...not just a pure pass rusher.

Again, if you actually would read the whole posts instead of only seeing what you want, you would realize that I acknowledged he played OLB. I said that he has played, and is still listed as a DE (both also true). I know how upset you get when people don't agree with you...sorry to ruin your day...I have to say I got a good chuckle out of your response though, lol. Kind of reminds me of talking football with a little kid. Also, yes in your article they list his sacks as an OLB...but he switched back in forth. I actually watched most of Denver's games, and many of his sacks came as a DE. "With the Josh McDaniels coaching regime entering the 2009 season, defensive coordinator Mike Nolan moved Dumervil around as an outside linebacker in his 3-4 defensive scheme, but keeping him as a defensive end on 4-3 passing down situations.[4] Dumervil led the league in sacks with 17."

I know you are always looking to contradict people just because, however Dumervil played as, and is still listed as a DE. Has he lined up at OLB? Yes. The point I was making was valid, you are not "correcting" anything. Lol, you can make all the sense you want. Good luck getting him to understand that.

This of course is a difference of opinion, but I've watched Vilma ever since he was in college (where he was decent). He was awful on the jets (ask jets fans what they think of him), Mcgahee bowled him over time and time again. He made a lot of tackles, but always down field. Useless near the goal line. Admittedly he has played better for the Saints, mainly because he has one of the best defensive coaches in the league and plays behind a very good D line. The Saints are just good all around (hence the SB). Some people may think differently, but if you offer me a guy like Vilma...I'll say pass every time.

A 3-4 OLB needs to be built like a DE, because thats basically what they are. Willis is a 4-3 MLB. That's like saying a guy is big enough to play OT because he is bigger than the WR...one thing has nothing to do with the other. Dumerville (a DE) is far shorter and stockier, actually not one of the guys you mentioned is actually a 3-4 OLB and they are all shorter. Also, if he plays anything like Vilma...PASS.

+1, we need bigger stronger defensive linemen more than we need LB's. Maybe one of each in the first 2 rounds (DL, then LB). Agreed, and I like your mock draft...

This guy makes a a good point. While I think PSL's for seats that you still have to pay for is ridiculous anyway, if part of the season should not take place, all PSL holders are getting ripped off (even more). Having said that there aren't going to be a lot of "damages" from this, and there have been none to this point as others have suggested. At least the guy is suing for a reasonable amount,$25K, unlike that guy who sued over his dry cleaning for 52 mil or something like that. Bottom line is this person is a millionaire, and I doubt he is doing this for the money...Probably just to make a point, play the f'ing game.

Lets use none of our picks for QB's... Lol, can we draft a GM, Coach, Scouting Director, or new owner?

^ what he said. Miller might be good, but we are small enough as it is...Getting a good pass rusher won't do any good if we can't at least slow down the run.

I will say this though, I agree that there are a lot of guys that are being talked about that I would love to see wearing a Bills uniform next year. And since the Bills have so many holes, we could use any of them.

I like your optimism, but I really laugh at that headline. Let's just say that for a moment that the Bills FO and scouts know what they are doing (even though they obviously don't). We take one of these big name "can't miss" prospects like Dareus or Peterson...and especially more risky ones like Newton...why can't they be busts like all of the other players we picked? Remember Mike Williams? He was thought to be as much of a sure thing as any Bills draft pick in history. Leodis McKelvin was supposed to be the BEST CB in his draft (he is always targeted, and failing, and only sees starting action due to injury). CJ Spiller was supposed to be the BEST RB in his class, yet he was a rookie disappointment to say the least. Not only did he not show improvement, but regression. Maybin? (don't need to explain it). Then of course guys like JP Losman, McCargo. Even other poor drafting teams show plenty of examples of how this can go all wrong. Jamarcus Russell, David Carr, Ryan Lief, Vernon Ghoulston, Mike Williams, Charles Rodgers, Joey Harrington, Ted Ginn.... Sorry, I won't get my hopes up until the Bills FO proves me wrong... Lol, at least he might actually be good...I'm more worried about them grabbing a guy like Mallett or Gabbert, so we can watch them get crushed and ruined behind our swiss cheese line.... Thats what the Jets said when they picked Vernon Ghoulston...
