Agreed...Last year Josh misses Diggs and Shakir...and Cook drops one and we lost by a FG...
-
they did try to blitz and pressure the QB on that last drive...but couldn't get to Lamar.

WE cannot play scared in the playoffs. Last week, there were a lot of call for a Denver upset of the Bills...We blew them away This week, we were underdog at home (in 42 games) against the most physical team and we were in control for most of the game. Our mindset against the Chiefs will be the same...show respect but don't bow down. We are as equal (if not better) than them

Personally, this Ravens matchup is my "McDermott Game."

Like we did last year with that LB Bishop is playing fine. Hamlin is continuing to take bad angles and get beat.
-
And those plays were made possible by the players who did not play last time...Milano, Bernard and Johnson.

1/19/25 Division Round Playoff Post Game Thread Bills vs. Ravens
ganesh replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
The Bills could have potentially put on 40 points...They came up with 2 FGs in the 2nd half...It was enough to win...but if those are TDs then 40 points is there. -
He was also responsible for the Int-Returned-For-TD in the last playoff game against them.

Kudos to McDermott for putting a great defensive game plan to keep Henry in check. It almost blew up in the 2nd half...but they held on to their nerves....There were no bad penalties that could have hurt us. The defense played a great game and kept the team in play to move to the AFCC at Kansas City. The offense could have played better in the 2nd half....they needed to be bolder and take their shots....But the pass rush was always worrisome and Allen wisely chose to keep it simple. A win is a win

I felt they played scared. They should have run Johnson.

Sleepless in Seattle for the last 72 hours...ever since i made the 10,000 mile journey... Go Bills !!! -
mind boggling for a rookie. this!!! This loss is on the defense in their inability to stop the Commanders back in their own building this!!! This loss is on the defense in their inability to stop the Commanders back in their own building

that is silly. Their defense let them down...so many 4th down conversions allowed...zero pass rush

It is also possible that those coaches who won the ONE super bowl put in a different approach that year and then were never able to replicate it. The question with McDermott is - if you know he cannot get you over the hump, then what are you playing for - Moral victories in regular season ? -
This Bills Team Version is much better than 13 seconds!!

And yet he got a $15M per year deal to play in Jacksonville -
Agree with OP. They could have set up the interview on Mondays....when everyone gets a day off...Why couldn't it wait till then.

The Ravens lost 5 games in the regular season...there is a blue print somewhere in those games that expose their vulnerabilities and gives the opponents a chance to take them down. This is the playoffs - all teams are almost equal in ability and it all comes down to how the game is managed on game day. Go Bills !!! -

That is the exact problem...McDermott not being able to elevate and win those close Divisional round games...Made bad mistakes year after year...The play calling last year in the last 4 minutes was horrendous...that was on him. The defense gave a 4th quarter TD in a tight game....that is on him. -

In the last meeting, we played a light box for 60% of the defensive snaps and gave all the holes to Henry to run. We were afraid of Lamar throwing downfield. Now with the defense coming back in full swing, we need to be able to stop Henry and challenge Lamar to throw. Can McDermott come with his disguised plays to confuse Lamar in the cold. This game is about McDermott elevating the defense. Defense wins championships. -
This game is the opportunity for Sean McDermott to exorcise his demons with regards to his defense holding up against one of the best offense in the NFL this year. The Bills win is going to be determined by how well Sean is going to contain Henry and keep Lamar in the pocket. They would have to come up with the best possible scheme. The last time they played....they had a light box allowing Henry to run untouched and man handle that undersized DL. However, this time he has all his starters back on Defense including Von playing his best over the past several games. It is game on for Sean....Don't need Josh to play hero ball like he tried in Week 4.
