  1. The question is: How much would that have gone up? Especially considering that at that point the Bills hadn't played anyone in the AFC East except for the home encounter with the Pats. Once again shows how poor the Bills front office has been at evaluating QBs.
  2. Keeping Spiller on the sidelines is the only reason why the Bills have the other teams hanging in the game. If spiller is let loose, the game is over by the 3rd quarter. I am not saying that Jackson is not important. For example, if Jackson takes that hand off at the Patriots 5 yard line instead of Spiller, we are looking at a 21 point cushion.
  3. My problem is that Gailey has had 2+ seasons to evaluate FItz and if he cannot open his play book for him due to all the restrictions you site, Nix and Chan should have spent the better part of the two drafts to get a starting caliber QB like a Dalton or Tannehill if that position was blocking them from being successful. Instead, we have had a RB, DT and CB to show up for three 1st round picks and a couple of turds at the 2nd round except for Cordy Glenn this year.
  4. Brad Smith is a better WR than a NFL QB. Let us leave it at that.
  5. Absolutely correct. All I was saying was that if the Bills find a franchise QB and if it requires giving up on additional 1st rounders, the Bills should do that. At this point their talent evaluation at the QB position is pretty suspect... 1. Made Edwards the starting QB (after training camp) only to dump him after 2 games. 2. Brought in Thigpen and he had difficulty learning the offense in training camp 3. Signed off Brad Smith for wild cat and have seen two floaters intercepted and nothing else to show 4. Traded for Tavaris Jackson (a suspect QB) and he can't even get on the field as the back up QB Missed drafting Wilson, Mallet, Locker etc. Not saying these players are going to have HOF careers, but they all could have made the QB position stronger (even if they were not starting today).
  6. We simply have a bad Special Teams coach with no passion and a belief that he does not have players and plays scared....Nothing like the one he replaced...April always found a way to work his ST unit instead of throwing up excuses.
  7. Even if the Bills finish in the 8-12 category., they have to mortgage the future to get the coveted QB and it can be done...RG-III to Washington.
  8. If this had been the replacement referees, there would have been hue and cry about it from the Media. Just goes to show that the Media folks went on a witch hunt to ostracize the replacements officials and get the regular refs back on the field. But they make equally bad calls as the replacements.
  9. Run defense is still horrible. Why do we suck so badly against the run. Opposite RBs are getting 7-8 yards every time they touched the ball. Why can't we play run-defense like we did against Charles (Chiefs) and Richardson (Browns). Stopping the run is an attitude and it sets the tone for the defense.
  10. This offense needs a rhythm and you cannot be swapping the RBs...You have to go with one and play him in the game. and that has to be Spiller based on this years productivity.
  11. And that is Chan's responsibility. He has had over 2 years to evaluate Fitz. If Fitz cannot execute plays from Chan's play book, Chan should not be starting Fitz for the Bills. Giving that cop out excuse is not acceptable entering the 3rd season. The reason our line is not getting stomped in spite of missing starters is because of our center. Last year when Wood went down, the OL went down the drain. The rest of the crew that played center could not hold off the pressure at the line of attack and DL were in the face of Fitz. This year, Fitz is still well protected from the middle and that all is due to Eric Wood. The OL is not a problem on this team. They have created holes for the running game and given enough time for Fitz to throw the ball. On offense, Fitz has been inaccurate and has had piss power 2nd and 3rd WRs. I don't know why Chan has gone away from getting the ball to Chandler.
  12. It is really not an Arm issue, as Fitz hardly throws deep. The real problem is his accuracy and consistency. This is the third time Fitz has missed on this simple play of rolling out to the right and throwing over the pursuing defender to the RB or TE. He missed wide open Chandler twice in earlier games and then Fred Jackson yesterday. All three plays more than likely would have resulted in a first down and moving the chains. For our outwitted defense, it is important for the Bills offense to move the chains and keep drives alive and keep the defense on the side lines. When your QB cannot do that consistently, the team will be in trouble.
  13. You got to persist with what was working...Spiller had 88 yards on 12 carries on that say 8-9 in the box. If he could rip of those big runs previously, why do we assume that he cannot do it now and yet we allow our mediocre QB to throw 32 times in the game.
  14. Or Chan should have not put the team in that position in the first place. Chan needs to own up and fix his mistakes..I hope Sullivan can point this out to Chan on Wednesday.
  15. If he gives the team a better chance to win, what is the big deal whether it is a 7th or 6th rounder...they are anyways training camp fodder.
  16. C- != Good Enough.....It is more like "Ready to Flunk the Test"
  17. It appeared that we were playing scared in that 4th quarter..especially that punt. This is the 2nd or 3rd time, the Bills have tried to do directional punting, rather than punting it deep. Why does Bruce De Haven keep doing that... Another positive was not many critical penalties or not fumbling the ball at critical times in the game.
  18. The Bills are currently in 4th place in the AFC East on a 4-way tie with all the tie breakers against them. How would they be a wild card ?
  19. Worst play calling in the 4th quarter and overtime...Your best player on the field just got 17 yards....and what do you do....throw on the next three plays..... :wallbash:
  20. We got ours too..our very own 59M man....who cannot throw 7 yards to wide open WR/RBs....That defense was pretty concerning too....Two big 4th downs and they make it with ease.
  21. Ah..Wait...I thought that was Trent Edwards and Fitz was a gun slinger....
  22. If Jackson is not ready, why bother dressing him and wasting a roster spot. At least Thigpen knows the play book. What bothers me is as to why Jackson is not ready. Is Gailey's offense that complicated or is Jackson dumb?
  23. This was one time, the owner definitely meddled...But why is that being extended to say that he is responsible for every other failure of this team... In defense of Ralph, the wins in 1999 came due to a stout defense and game management by Flutie. Flutie stunk up the joint in quite a few games. It is not as if Flutie was a franchise QB. And to Rob's defense, he won that game for us before our esteemed special teams blew it. Stop blaming Ralph for everything.
  24. It is not as simple as taking these statistics and pasting a picture that the problem is not Fitz. Several times, Fitz overthrew his receivers. Threw those 7 picks at inopportune moments and showed no emotion to fightback after the defense gave up those points. The real problem is though we have stopped running the ball effectively in the last two losses. That issue lies squarely on Gailey's shoulders.
  25. The talent is there more-or-less like many NFL teams...,meaning there are holes at different positions. But the difference is that those teams are winning because they have a better coaching staff.....The Steelers have lost their best OL and still Rothelisberger can throw consistently for 250+ yards per game and their defense keeps them close. You give our team to Dick Lebeau and he will make it one of the best defense. Even the Patriots are rather week at different positions...Their OL is in a mess. Their DBs are pretty average...Their RBs are average (but we have made kings out of them).
