Browns are trending up. However, similar to Buffalo if the QB that was drafted doesn't work out the fan base might revolt. One main difference is that the Manziel hype train is so much bigger than the likes of what we have ever seen. If the kid busts, the Browns will have a very hard time recovering.

What's incredible is when the guy has been on the field he tends to shut people down. You drafted a big physical kid whom started all four years in the SEC and you are surprised he draws flags for aggressive play? Gilmore gets a "B" from me because of the body of work isn't all there with the injury than having to play with a club. However, as stated above, when healthy the kid is a gamer no two ways about it.

There is more to pro sports than just entertainment and things like this prove it.

If you continue to look into the future you won't have a chance to enjoy the now. I'm more focused on this upcoming season oppose to what could happen. As long as the bills make the post season what's the difference? I mean, not for nothing if Watkins pops off for a thousand plus send ten TDs and buffalo goes 3-13 will it justify the trade? It will ease it but the winning is what's important.

I don't need the bells and whistles, I also don't need to see the price of those amenities being passed onto the fans.

One and it will be a designed pass to a running back. I can see Manuel making some quality plays but the offense will go as spiller and FredEx go

What's funny is I remember when the kid was drafted and I was working with some jets fans and most of their reactions were "who????"

Nothing to see here. I loved Mallett coming out. However, even sitting behind Brady the kid never seemed to learn anything. Anyone could see the pick from day one was meant to be used as a trade chip and Mallett just never was able to showcase anything. When given looks in practice and pre season and never showed anything. Hence why he was moved for a 6th rounder and still isnt going to start in Houston.

A lot of us already know, Manuel will not fail because the lack of drive and focus. More often than not, QBs whom end up busting don't do so because they lack the talent. They lack the dedication and desire to take their game to the next level. My main issue with Manuel is something hackett pointed out. Manuel is too afraid of not being perfect. Manuel appears to want to go 10-10 with throws for under 10 yards than possibly 6-10 for throws down field that might not be higher percentage throws. We saw a few times in the pre season where Manuel trusted his WRs. The throw to Williams against the Panthers. I was at that game and even a few Panthers fans turned to me and said thats what Manuel needs to do more of because he has the arm talent. There were a couple of throws where Manuel hit guys before they came out of their breaks. However, those were not consistent throws but more the rare element of Manuels game.

Unfortunately that is the era we live in. Folks have internet access at the touch of a finger and have networks dedicated to 24 hour football coverage. The over exposure makes it tough. Unless the news is positive, the harsh press will resonate non stop.

I think once you saw what Buffalo paid Orton that you couldn't discount the front office and coaches giving Manuel a very short leash. I think the second Manuel starts to falter and cause his team games, Orton will be thrust into the lineup and will be hard to unseat unless the guy absolutely flops.

1) the online has yet to be the same week in and week out with two late round rookies asked to learn both then left and right side of the line. 2) Watkins has hardly been in and Williams hasn't been in many series. 3) The play book isn't even remotely open. I'm not making excuses but people are acting like we are in mid season form

I don't get it either, fans regurgitate that all the time for one reason or another. The fact is Manuel had higher clout in legit nfl circles more so than the media. I fore one never knew why so many fans put so much stock into media rankings anyways.

I understand vanilla and I don't mind it, however in the same regard vanilla means more fundamentals execution. Therefore, you would, at the very least want to see them execute and not have the mental lapses that has seemed to have been their Achilles heal this pre season.

Leading up to the draft, if you read a lot of medias take on whom buffalo should take they typically opened with "buffalo doesn't have many holes..." Which is true for the most part, buffalo has finally hit on some picks and have been able to bring in some free agents. If the coaching is there and EJ develops we can compete.

Drew Brees Russell Wilson Colin Kaepernick Andy Dalton Nick Foles Tom Brady... Clearly you would much rather a first rounder in order to select your QB, however as a couple of examples above show you don't need one in order to find a QB.
