  1. And yet we have to go back almost a decade if not more to find a draft that hadn't yielded at least one current starter. Not every class will have a generational talent like Luck. That's why they are called generational talents.
  2. So what is to be said that the current NFL MVP completed 59% of his passes his draft year? And had an average of 59% of his career in college... Tom Brady only completed 61% of his passes at Michigan.
  3. No, no, no, Mahomes is not going to be the BPA at ten. And QBS typically are overdrafted and over valued. Mahomes may be the first QB taken in the draft but the kid has a long way to go. Very raw and you dont take that at 10th overall.
  4. Need more than that, and I don't understand the "we won't hesitate to take Howard."
  5. Had a sense whaley might no have been in control this off season. We let go/didn't resign a lot of players from the old regime(s). It's also well documented that TT is not Whaley's guy also isn't a fan of his. Yet, mcdermott wanted him back, at least for this season...
  6. A lot of teams are going to look into these QBS and try and generate false interest. I mean, by wide and large this class may be similar to that of 2013 in terms of how they fall. I could absolutely see, Mahomes being the first QB taken and guys like Trubisky abd Watson fall. However, that being said I am not buying anything this time of year. People are going to read way to much into who is watching who during the process.
  7. If I can just play devils advocate here... A majority of the year, Watson, Kizer and to an extent Trubisky have been recognized as the top QBS of this class along with Chad Kelly. Not many people if any were ever talking about Mahomes as the season went on. Now all of a sudden he's the next this guy or that guy. I like mahomes, I see a lot of tools in that he box to work with. However, people need to be more realistic about this kid.
  8. Engram is actually considered small in comparison to the better TEs in the class. Also plays nothing like Alshon at all. If anything he's a faster Devin Funchess.
  9. Not true, the Safety class has talentx sure, but it's more top heavy with Adams and Hooker. The CB class has a lot more depth across the round. You will see more CBs go in the top 40 than you will see S.
  10. You have a bigger net cast with more players, sure. However, Goodwin had some very good games for us. Health was always a concern, but there is no doubting the kid was developing... I wouldn't pay him 3 per, but in the same regard, I am in the minority that isn't anamored with our WR FA pick ups.
  11. Sidney Jones hurt as his pro day and now Moreau at his pro day. This deep class just lost two very good players to injury for a stupid shirts workout.
  12. Cardale Jones. The same way Whaley pushed Manuel, is the same way I think he'll push Cardale. I loved the pick when it came down. I think he has a lot of potential. That being said, if Whaley doesn't draft a QB I think it will be a big endorsement of Cardale.
  13. Berry and Vaccaro are exactly 6'0 if that counts. But I mean you look at a guy like Karl Joseph who is 5-10 and was a first rounder
  14. Without a doubt Leggett from Clemson When had a TE in the first ever been a safe pick? Tony Gonzalez back in 1997?!?!
  15. Pats, jets and giants
  16. The trade with the Browns I could absolutely see. However, unless they fear the Saints, they may just stay put. No no else other than the Texas has the pressing need. The cards and chiefs aren't necessarily desperate to fill the position so I don't see them trading up.
  17. 1) No one knew Peppers true position. He claims he is a safety and now he's the best in the class at the position? Please, couldn't touch Adams. Could argue Hooker because of Hooker limited starting experience and the injuries, but still that's a stretch. 2) I really am enjoying this Mahomes talk. There is a very really chance we dont see a QB taken in the top ten. Yet some act like Mahomes is so good, that all the QB needy teams are going to pass on him and he'll last
  18. Zay Jones will most likely not make it out of the top 40 let alone all the way to 75
  19. I might not get a lot of people here to see what I see in hansen, but I see an Ed Mccaffrey type. A bit shorter, but very similar in their style.
  20. 2013 could go down as one of the worst in history. 2009 wasn't that special either I'm in not mistaken. Although the 1992 draft will always be the absolute worst.
  21. I think everyone is looking into letting Gilmore walk ad an automatic that we have to take a CB in the first. This is the deepest DB class, possibly in history and it will be the ilk of a GM who can find those guys later in the draft. My philosophy is always, even if the class is stacked you still want the best of the group. However, let the draft come to you. Well sidney jones is hurt and Lattimore may not fall to us. That being said, again you don't have to jump at the position just because you have a need so to speak. If Lattimore falls, perfect, if not we don't have to push up a Tabor or Conley in order to sure up the position.
  22. Robinson was not good in Washington and was not good in jersey. No idea why people wanted a guy who couldn't tackle and was rated on of the worst at his position. He was basically the Carpenter of LBs
  23. Not for nothing mcdermott learned under jim johnson. Something that has been well documented. JJ was known for exotic blitz schemes and finding ways to bring pressure consistently. Someone like Hasson would almost be a perfect fit for McDermott.
  24. Very few, if any QBs have worked out when it involved more than one pick. I.e. trading up or back into the first.
