  1. Talent trumps character almost every time.
  2. And who knows what his career would have held had he not been a head case. And because VY flamed out means any player that shows up in big time game automatically is linked to VY. Got ya.
  3. I'm not a Ross fan, but how did he not make it?
  4. This is the kind of draft where a late WR could end up being one of the better players in the class or a crop of guys who are out of the league in a few years. I have a few guys I really really like later but Reynolds isn't really one of them.
  5. I love it, people clamor for us to draft a QB, we draft a developmental type in a fitting round and already people write him off. There is no pleasing Bills fans at all.
  6. Foster would be a Will for us.
  7. Cunningham could very well end up being the best LB in this class if you ask me. Davis out of Florida is also someone who I think could end up being a big time value for a team late in the first early second round. Heck if we were picking in the late teens I would probably push for Reddick, Cunningham and Davis all day.
  8. The nfl as a whole is switching to smaller more athletic LBs regardless of defensive scheme.
  9. "QB guru" Steve Calhoun among others touted Manuel as having extremely high football IQ. Ironically, our current starter has the lowest wonderlic score of any starter in the league. Coming in with a whopping 15. Furthermore, you seem to be comparing NFL Manuel to Kizer. I'm talking about them coming out of College. There tendencies and issues in college are very similar. Funny thing is, one of the knocks on manuel coming out was he relied on his arm TOO MUCH and would force the ball into right windows. The only difference is, Manuel is more athletic and would use his feet more. If anything that mobility gives him the edge in my book.
  10. Print is all but dead. Still viable, yes, but just about everyone no a days has a soapbox.. I mean blog... No doubt, these guys have been bad for awhile, but I mean, it's known and more and more of a broken record.
  11. If a GM is at that much of the will of his coaches than he has no business being the GM. Obviously you don't pick players that don't fit your scheme. However, to overdraft players for that system always comes back to haunt you. Nix did this with Troup, but I don't think his coaching staff forced his hand.
  12. Did you really lump Bill Polian in with those guys? Really?
  13. Desperate is trading up to assure you land your guy. This seems more like there is interest, and the possibility buffalo has the desire to draft a kid they can groom. However, like I said, the word desperate is misused here.
  14. The comparison to Manuel is very fitting. They check off every box there is, except for accuracy.
  15. I am still shocked at how little respect Watson gets. The guy did thing against defenses that regularly produce first and second round talent. I agree, the whole MPH at the combine on the ball is concerning, however there is the unmeasurable "IT" factor that Watson has. You always want players that shine when the lights are the brightest and Watson does that in spades. However, I have to wonder if his turnovers will carry over into the NFL. You look at or current NFL MVP and his draft year stats. Crazy to think he was so much more regarded than Watson.
  16. That's why I left off guys like Ebron, Gresham, Vernon Davis,etc...
  17. I kind of feel like, they may like one or two of them. If they are they may consider them, but won't make a rash move to go up and get one. I think Trubisky is the apple of THE QB class around the league. Howeve, Buffalo has Tyrod, Yates and Cardale under contract, so if they do draft a kid high... do we keep four QBs? Do we run the risk of putting Jones on the practice squad? Do we cut Yates and let the draft pick and Jones battle it out? I don't think anything should prevent you from drafting a QB if you think he is the guy... I just don't get the sense that we will go that way under McDermott. The guy has talked about building a long term solution here. To me, I think mcdermott will build a roster and if the QB they want is there go for it, but they want a culture here and are content with Tyrod at the helm as they transition.
  18. They seem to just want to add bodies to that secondary.
  19. There is no such thing as risers and fallers. What happens is, the media starts to get a little more info from teams here and there. Some more accurate than others. As far as Webb is concerned... I think the Texans take him. That's where I have him mocked at least.
  20. Because you need to assess the value of these guys accordingly. Of course if you re-drafted they would go higher. Hindsight is 20-20... If you reach on a guy and he busts, it's all the worse. This is what seperates good drafting teams and the Bills.
  21. Please dont, rarely if ever a good idea to take a TE in the first round, let a lone at top ten. A few have worked out, but when I look around the league Gronk-2nd round Reed-3rd round Walker-6th round Kelce-3rd round Graham- Undrafted Gates-Undrafted Barnidge-5th round Ertz-2nd round Rudolph-2nd round Yes, Olsen and Eifert are good late first round players, but that is two guys...
  22. You can beat you heat again the wall all you want, but the facts at there and you can say they are subjective... Are you going to tell me the Bear Raid really prepared Goff for the NFL? Yes,a lot of college teams are in the spread almost all the time, some succeed in the transition, others don't. Having a few examples of success against the field is short sighted. Heck, only two black QBs (starters) have ever won a SB, won't detract teams from picking black QBs. However, like i said-to use those two as examples to create a narrative against a field much larger; that scales in the opposite direction. Is short sighted and cherry picking at its finest. I mean, explain to me how Tebow was so dominate in college, yet, didn't have the skills that translated to the NFL. Sometimes the college game and schemes are strictly designed to win at that level. No concern for their NFL readiness or if their abilities will translate. Heck, not their job, but you get the point.
  23. I can't think of any real developmental types that went through a legit development process and are high end starters. Aaron Rodgers sat behind Favre, but that was a hall of Famer who Noone knew when he would retire. Late round picks as well. Cousins is the only recent on I can think of. Sitting behind RGBust. However, guys like Wilson and Dak started early in their careers. They went brought along slowly and "developed." Fact is, the nfl is was to instant gratification based at its core now. Heck, the new CBA almost is designed to allow picking a bust of a QB to NOT totally set you back. You can transition from one bust to the next like the Jags. I mean you look at the Panthers for instance with Clausen. Second rounder, had to play way to early... stunk it up and they moved on the very quick with taking Cam the next year first overall.
  24. Goff was said to have struggled big time with the terminology at the NFL. The Cal offense absolutely did him no favors.
