If you look above I posted that October of 2016 was running onto the field of his brothers HS football game. November pics leaked of Chad with pot on snapchat.

What you laid out here is exactly what I have been saying all along. The NFL is based way to much on instant gratification. These players either play early or fall victim to being replaced with the next best thing in the draft. i.e. the Panthers take Clausen high in the second round, he gets forced into action early only the be replaced by Cam Newton the vry next year. Heck there is heavy discussion the Jets will take a QB despite taking Hack in the second last year. Fact of the matter is, the shelf life of these coaches is hinged so tightly on the success of their QB that very few will go down with that ship. We saw Marrone absolutely refuse to tie his to Manuel. Again, with their being little proof that sitting is always the answer, esp for high picks, you know as well as I do, they will be put in a potion to sink or swim a lot sooner than anticipated. As far as a developmental league. NFL Europe used to be something like that. Again alluding tp shelf life. Look how long some of these players last in the nfl as is, putting them in a league like that could shorten their NFL career that much more. Heck, I have friends who are Giants fans who don't want Bolles in the first because he's already 25.

Cut it anyway you want, the kid ran onto the field which he had no business doing and had to be restrained. The videos are out there. Then to follow that up a month later with a snapchat of you and pot. Same thing with getting kicked out of clemson than a month or two later getting inot the bar brawl. How close the incidents are, show the kid doesn't learn and doest give a flying ef about the ramifications of his actions. You can love his talent all you want, you can spin his off field behavior anyway you want. However, there is enough NFL execs that have questioned the kids maturity. Which, at the most crucial position of the game is so critical. Our own head coache is preaching what it takes both on and OFF the field. So many fans here have called for our own All Pro, third overall pick Dareus to be cut for synthetic pot. Yet, because the kid shares the Kelly name everyone wants to make excuses.

Prospect Watch: Mitch Trubisky QB, UNC
BillsFan17 replied to Maury Ballstein's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Fair enough, just wanted to see if there was something to back it up. A lot of people have thrown around adjectives about various players for the sake of pumping a spec they like. I just like to pick the minds of fellow fans. I live in NC, I like what Trubisky brings to the table. Along with Watson who I think is the best college player i have seen. I just don't think Buffalo will take a QB highly. -
The high school brawl literally happened in October of 2016. The snapchat pics of him with pot were from November of 2016.

Prospect Watch: Mitch Trubisky QB, UNC
BillsFan17 replied to Maury Ballstein's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Now to play devils advocate, what are we basing his toughness on? With such limited starting experience, what adversity did Trubisky face or nagging injury did he play through to be able to throw out how tough the kid is? -
Smoking weed, while I understand the implications, becoming legal in more and more states... I don't really put that up there being thrown off of a major college program in Clemson Or Fighting a bouncer, threatening to get an Ak and "spray the place," only to later to swing at an arresting officer and get a multitude of charges, which he plead down. Or The whole getting into a brawl at his little brothers high schook football game. Oh, and there was marijuana issues when the dang kid put it on snapchat. So if you really want to compare a LT who was destined to go highly before that picture came oUT to a QB with injury history and that off the field list of issues. By all means be my guest.

The plan was for all those guys in '04 to sit. Eli was pushed into action over a Hall of Famer in Warner. Big Ben got thrust into action due to injury, Rivers sat behind a future hall of Famer and Losman sat with a broken leg... But, if you look back in the day none of those big times guys sat... Elway, Marino, Aikman, Peyton Manning, Bradshaw, etc... Fact of the matter is there is no real correlation between sitting and having success. Does it lend it's hand to allowing a guy to take in the rigors of the NFL, yes. However, there is no substitute for live game action. You can do all the film study in the world. Have the best seats in the house directly on the sideline and still not translate it. Heck, how long did Tyrod sit behind Flacco? Yet, many, my self included don't envision Tyrod as the future here.

Did they trade Grop?

I will concede that this day in age, wirh cell phones and every other bit of technology, far more is exposed. However, the league has also evolved into a no nonsense league. When this stuff leaks and gets out, like it always does who will he hind behind then? You can't ignore the laundry list of issues.

Brees was a second rounder and Brady a sixth. Big Ben didn't sit, he actually played in 14 games, starting 13 of them. Palmer did sit, behind Kitna who I'm almost sure won come back player of the year. Rodgers was a very interesting case. No one knew when Favre was going to retire... the value was way to good for them to pass up. Especially considering they drafted QB almost every year regardless. There are very few QBs playing today who were truly developmental types that sat and panned out.

So we are going to act like we havent seen superior talent flame out because they lacked it between the ears?

Haason Reddick Equals Thomas Davis?
BillsFan17 replied to Jamie Muellers Ghost's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Us bills fans as a whole have been burned so many times, it's easy for us to be cautious... However, when I see the injury history associated with Ross and more recently Davis, considering our draft history. As far as Howard, never ever take a TE that high, especially one you have to make excuses for. I dont want to hear how it was Bama fault he wasn't used enough. Heard a lot of the same with Vernon Davis who was more productive at Maryland, but everyone blamed the lack of big time production on the program. That Davis was far to athletic to not take it to the next level at the NFL. -

Two of which will most likely not be on the board when we pick... So leaving us with Davis, Ross, and Howard. Not very impressed. Davis I am a huge fan of but... -

Yet, the comparison is Tommy Davis who was crucial to McDermott D. -

The difference being, one played safety in college and transitioned into more of a LB role. Reddick is a guy who played as an edge mostly who is transitioning to LB. -
Bills doing homework on 2017 QBs
BillsFan17 replied to blacklabel's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
See that's the thing, when, if ever outside of Rodgers, who is a rare case, has a team taken a QB in the first round to groom and actually followed that path? Palmer sat for an entire season, as did Rivers. However, worked out both guys in front of them, Kitna and Brees respectively had very good seasons. Point is, today's NFL is way too impatient. The first sign of struggle from the starter the backup will always be the most popular guy among fans. Especially a kid in the first. Especially in a league where injuries as so abundant. And especially when coaches jobs are on the line. So yes, we could grab a kid who has to groom to be the aire apparant, but who is to say we don't wait and snag a kid next year who is more NFL ready, could still ideally sit for a year, and if anything you feel more comfortable if said QB gets thrown in a little sooner... -
JuJu: not "on that beat" of Buffalo weather
BillsFan17 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I honestly think if Ju-Ju didn't get hurt, he could have been in the fold for late first early second without a doubt. I would absolutely take him in the second round. He's almost a throwback type of possession WR. You aren't going to be blown away, but end of the day you'll look at his numbers and appreciate what he does I do like the Boldin comparison... I look more at a Colston from the Saints a few years back as a good comparison. Colston was a bit taller, but same style IMO. -

I honestly liked Woods coming out of USC more than Ju-Ju. -

So they are going to run over Luke Kuechly who is the same size as Reddick? Maybe an inch or two taller... What about Deone Buccanon? Bobby Wagner maybe? Danny Trevathan? Tell me how often the 6'1 240 Patrick Willis got punked before he retired... -

I'm starting to lean towards this being a huge smokescreen that I'd put money on us not taking a QB at 10 -
Haason Reddick Equals Thomas Davis?
BillsFan17 replied to Jamie Muellers Ghost's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
In today's NFL is Reddick really undersized? Guys like Shazier are the same size. Leonard Floyd who was a top ten pick last year is taller but skinnier by a good 10 some odd pounds. A top tier prospect in most people's minds is Ruben Foster who is almost exactly the same height and weight. With spread offenses have come smaller more athletic LBs. -
Davis, but more because I could see him being a Thomas type in Dennisons offense. I love me some Mike williams. Either is a very good spec. However, the stats are against finding success with WRs taken that highly.

Bills doing homework on 2017 QBs
BillsFan17 replied to blacklabel's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't think they are tying their future to him, but I do think they brought him back to give them a little but of a cushion. They don't have to force a QB selection, instead they can let the draft come to them at the position. If the guy they like falls to them they can make the pick if they so choose. However, without Tyrod they may have possibly even been tempted to trade up to ensure they get a QB.
