  1. You absolutely can never have enough guys to get to the QB. This is exactly how the Giants were able to beat the Pats twice in the SB.
  2. So because he wrote a nice letter you instantly trust the kid? If that's all it takes...
  3. You are putting a verdict in on 24 carries? The kid was clearly not going to factor in much as a rookie behind McCoy and MG... especially the way they were playing. Williams was dominant in the SEC before the foot injury that dropped him in the draft. Honestly, a lot of people talk about the cowboys offensive line lending it self to heloping any rusher look elite... Well, we don't have the same caliber line, but they aren't far off in the run blocking department.
  4. Friendly wager on that?
  5. Lol, I absolutely love that the back up is the best player in the room always. We had Karlos before we had to pick MG up off the street. Not to say MG isn't a heck of a talent, he is... but I just can't help but see so many people freaking out over this. As if the off season is done. The draft has come and went, cuts before the season have come and went. There is just absolutely no way to replace a back up RB.
  6. I have pushed it off and pushed it off, but man, it's creeping back up... Draft Watson and try and solve this QB issue once and for all.
  7. In a way like Manny Lawson was to Mario Williams.
  8. What? That makes no sense what-so-ever. You are making an argument that Taylor is fine because our ground game produced a majority of the points?
  9. I hardly ignored the fact we should look at someone like Barnett.
  10. I am on the same page as you with this. Believe me, I have fallen for "insiders" before and followed their every word during a draft process.
  11. If we trade up in this draft I'll be absolutely furious.
  12. Almost positive Reed switched from highschool QB to WR in college, not TE.
  13. You mean the same Mario Williams who absolutely dominated before Rex decided to miscast the guy?10.5 13 14.5 ... hard to put up those kind of sack totals without putting in much effort.
  14. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but Watson is nothing like Manuel. The funny thing is people knock Trubisky for only starting so many games, yet they are over evaluating Watson because the amount of tape on the kid. Watson absolutely can make every throw and has that IT factor. May not always be pretty, but either was Matt ryan coming out.
  15. I dnt know much about the person you are quoting in terms of our board. However, is the based on who he feels will be left when they pick? Or do they envision those being the best players in the draft?
  16. So ball placement doesn't help with YAC? Mean to tell me putting a ball where a WR can catch the ball in stride instead of behind him or in front of him, forcing him to change his inertia wouldn't help with YAC? How many times I watched Sammy or Woods or whomever have to adjust their body to try and make a reception, or have to basically skin their knuckles trying to catch a ball... Things like that absolutely effect the players ability after the catch.
  17. Fitz, Gabbert, Alex Smith, Kaepernick... all had very good scores. Yet, Marino, McNabb, Bradshaw all had borderline embarassing scores. Honestly, I have said it since day one, if you pay attention more to their on field play oppose to their off field testing you will be better off. I have seen a lot of players picked way to highly because their off field testing pushed them up.
  18. [quote name="C.Biscuit97" post="4339927" Weirdly, we get players in the draft for more than one year. And that means what? He played at Bama for four year and for four years they couldn't find a way to utilize his elite measurables. Again, I have to look back to Gonzo for the last time a TE taken in the top 15 panned out and met expectations.
  19. That's the thing fans like you are more the minority than the common denominator. I wouldnt be thrilled if we took one at ten, mainly because I don't think the talent is worthy of the top ten. Coming from a big time Clemson supporter who absolutely loves Watson. That being said, I would rather them try and find the guy than be complacent.
  20. So Howard was not utilized correctly at Bama. Hence the lack of elite production to go with elite measurements. We have a QB who can't utilize our expensive TE, so, go draft another because he's big and fast...
  21. Yet, every year everyone wants to wait until the next draft class and give the guy grief for one bust, which however you wanna slice it he wasn't the GM when choice was made. Yes, whaley composed the board and in reality manuel had the highest ceiling in his class, no one is saying Nix had to take him in the first. However, Whaley has adhered to his coaches request for QBs. From getting Orton for Marrone, Taylor for Rex, and reworking Taylor to retain him for McDermott. So maybe we fault him for listening to much to his coaches, but I don't think we should totally avoid taking a QB because fans don't trust Whaley.
  22. Yet can't miss guys like Leaf, Russell, Couch, etc... were can't miss guys... And as far as the media telling everyone about this class... let's not forget they aren't always right either. My personal take is these QBS are to developmental. However, I also concede I'm not always right. If buffalo does take a QB they obviously think the guy is worthy of that pick. Right wrong or indifferent.
  23. While I agree none of the QBs are worthy of a top ten pick... I don't fully agree with why Sal is saying to avoid the position... you can't consistently point out past misses as a reason to avoid addressing the position. Not for nothing the new CBA has allowed teams to move on from a first round bust pretty quickly. Furthermore, how can you point out the Manuel miss and ignore the fact you are pumping up his replacement that was obtained while Manuel was under contract. Proving missing on a QB isn't as detrimental as it once was. I agree we need more help on the roster, but you cant ignore the elephant in the room and hope it corrects it self.
  24. Oh believe me I know, you and I have disagreed on a few topics, but one thing we agree on... we need a new QB. A QB who can actually throw the ball and we don't have to design an offense to mask the QB. Granted that's easier said than done.
  25. We ran a ground and pound, and both Lynn and Roman were tasked with hiding Taylors deficiencies as a passer. You do not want to put the ball in Taylors hands too often. The guy is not a good passer by any stretch. Therefore, to ramp up his attempts per game would not bode well.
