Baker Mayfield won’t attend NFL draft

The NFL is an entertainment enterprise. -
What's frustrating about this whole thing is the Jets sitting at three will most likely land one of Mayfield or Rosen.

Hence why I said Beane didn't think it would be prudent to move up to three and not be in the driver seat. Why did you not quote that part of my post?

Holy **** are we really going to go around in this circle. The point is not the amount to have to give up but what you are willing to give up.
-
I understand the Colts position, the fact is, Buffalo had far more to offer than the Jets. Enough so that they have absolutely matched and vastly exceeded the Jets offer and still have plenty of picks. Beane didn't see it prudent to only get top three and not be in the driver seat. I'm not undervaluing the Colts only moving back to six by any stretch, but never does three second rounders trump three first rounders they undoubtedly could have gotten and then some. If you want to convince your self that 6 and three seconds is better than 12, two firsts and possibly a second and third, by all means. Because, here is the funny thing, the Colts could turn around and use a very small portion of what they got from us to potentially move back into the top ten. You have teams like the Buccs rumored to want to move back from seven, so there are avenues that could allow the colts to get into the top ten. But you are right that thing called draft order
-
So a top ten pick is better than 12, 22, 53 and a potential first rounder next year? Cool good thing that draft order is the only thing in play. Yes them staying in the top six was important, but if buffalo was willing they absolutely had more to offer.
-
Point was they made the move because of what they were willing to give up. Like a poster mentioned above, all the ammo in the world doesn't do you any good if you don't lock and load
-
Yeah, the Jets didn't the same amount as the Bills to offer but they made it happen. It's not just the ammo it's what ammo you are willing to part with.

If Allen goes first overall I'm turning off the draft and walking away from football for a bit lol. Seriously, if Allen goes first overall I basically give up. Like you said Darnold is a slam dunk at second, and that leaves Rosen or Baker for the Jets and Buffalo desperately trying to get to four. Which hear me out. In that position, if the chips fell that way, Cleveland would probably have a higher price tag for that fourth overall than the Giants would at two (had Darnold gone first)

Moving up to #2 = No Playoffs for the next three years

How on earth does a garbage thread like this make it ten pages? -
I don't mean to say it as an all encompassing black and white statement. Clearly they could have guys in for some precautionary reasons. I just don't see how some of those wouldn't be cleared up at the combine or private workouts they hold. You only have so many visits you are allowed... If you have to meet with a kid four times to get a true gauge on his character, than he's probably not the guy for you. Medicals are a different animal, but again don't think you need to meet four times for that.

Cant wait for the All Pro Hall of Fame LB and that stud CB we have that becomes the face of our defense like Revis was for the Jets... and the Bill's have just have an assembly of high quality players from all the draft picks, but still lack that QB Only to finish 8-8, 9-7, 8-8 before McDermott and Beane are replaced and the next regime is still searching for a QB..
-
If you are going to invest the draft picks needed to get into a position to take one of these guys, then make them the face of your franchise... This isn't a, there is some questionable character concerns via the media about you, let's hangout and aire out both sides of the argument. You meet with a player four times like they are doing with Mayfield and three or four times with Rosen, you are making sure character wise these guys are best suited for your franchise.
