  1. Build up the trenches. The skill positions are deep in this class. You can wait on a WR/TE.
  2. Lmao this thread is a joke
  3. Yes he did have very similar stats the rest of his career. There was very little difference between year two and year ten. The Giants were not wondering about Eli at all until his fourth season. They knew what they had in his sophomore year.
  4. There is no tried and true method to bringing along a QB. If there was, every team would follow the same model. Therefore, by saying playing is the absolute best way to develop Allen is not a fair statement. The Bills have an entire offense to evaluate going into this off season. I'd rather have a QB who can do what Barkley did and give our playmakers a chance to do just that, make plays. Moreover, Barkley forced the Jets to stay honest and allowed for the run game to open up. Also, the ability to drift in the pocket and read a defense which in turn helps the offensive line. There is more to Barkley starting than just trying to win games, it will help evaluate other players on the offense.
  5. The Giants went 11-5 in Eli's sophomore year. Eli then proceeded to have very similar stats, basically for the rest of his career on. Then went on to win the SB in his fourth season, so what are you talking about it took five years for the Giants to know about Eli?
  6. I truly enjoy the hyperbole that other QBs would look the same if not worse in our offense. 1) Baker Mayfield is playing on arguably the worst team in NFL history who have Landry and a bunch of young unproven talent. 2) Sam Darnold was traded up for, but the Jets still finished with the sixth overall pick. They are not a quality team and Sam is playing extremely well for them. 3) Josh Rosen is on a team many have felt were worse than the Bills, and yet is playing very good ball.
  7. This is the frustrating part, too rare do we see all three phases of the game sync up and play well. We have some standout plays on defense and the offense was absolute jizz.
  8. Refs are the ones making up the rules.
  9. Wood and Incognito's situations absolutely set us back. I dont fully put it on Beane that he didnt replace to main pieces of the line with the cap situation we have.
  10. Anyone else remember this? There is no correlation between success of a QB and having a veteran behind them. This is the NFL not the scouts. I'm sure to a degree it helps, but there are 52 other MEN on the team that can help bring a rookie QB along.
  11. Quelled... quelled... someone got themselves a calendar word-of-the-day dictionary.
  12. Lions and cards, maybe the Browns.
  13. It was originally a sixth that became a fifth, I apologize.
  14. The Jets are going to be a good team.
  15. Dareus was traded for a sixth not a fifth. So there is that
  16. The Jets made the playoffs three times in Pennington's five years of starting*. Granted they never advanced past the divisional round, I still think that's pretty solid to make the playoffs for at least 2/3rds of your years starting with a team. Moreover, in 2005 the Jets were awful (4-12,) without Pennington, only see him win comeback player of the year in 2006 leading them to a 10-6 record. In 2008 Pennington was a big part of the Dolphins going 11-5. Won comeback player of the year for a second time and actually received some MVP votes. Manning won the award, but still fairly impressive. So, I guess you loved watching the Jets make the playoffs for the aforementioned 2/3rds of his career starting with them. * Pennington was drafted in 2000, but didnt see full time starting duty until 2002.
  17. Dez has already shown he cant play.
