  1. But the point is how much more significantly better are those guys going to be where the extra picks will be mitigated? And last years draft was just one example. I have shown other draft classes that proved the same point. I'm not saying I wouldnt take one if they slid to 22. Hell, I even like the idea of Shenault, Reagor, or Jefferson at 22, but again because I'm not giving up extra capital. And however last years class was grouped/graded, the producers came in the second round and later. Showing maybe teams are willing to wait because they can find playmakers/contributors throughout the draft. Again, the top three being regarded as they are, in no way, shape, or form diminishes the level of spec some of these guys are. So again, the level of productivity, would have to absolutely blow the field out of the water to justify spending additional capital. Its astonishing how a historically deep class is being downplayed in order to push a narrative that the top three will absolutely blow the field away. Which, historically, has not been the case.
  2. I've pointed out a handful of draft classes now, including the most recent one where more than a handful of players selected after the consensus top prospects played extremely well. Before the start of this season only 20 rookie WRs since 1950 have put up over 1,000 yards in their rookie campaigns. Yet, this past year the only WR to do it was a second rounder, and the only others close were fellow second rounders Deebo/DK, third rounder McLaurin, and to a lesser extent Slayton. Hollywood Brown and Harry where nowhere even close. Yet they were the first round picks. The better of the prospects. What kind of season/production/abilities would Lamb/Jeudy/Ruggs have to show that would truly separate them from the potential contributions of guys like say Aiyuk, Mims, Peoples-Jones, Pittman Jr... where you can argue the value made the juice worth the squeeze... Again armed with the knowledge that in recent years we have seen second, third, fourth round WRs be productive.
  3. So you wouldnt take Deebo or DK on this team right now? What? Acting like those guys weren't very productive and played extremely well is just shortsighted to fit your narrative. You could also add McLaurin to that conversation along with Slayton. 2017- Corey Davis, John Ross, Mike Williams or Ju-Ju in the second or Kupp in the third? 2016- Corey Coleman, Fuller, Doctson, Treadwell or Michael Thomas/Tyler Boyd in the second There are plenty of drafts where the higher touted specs didnt work out as well as guys taken after them. Assuming because a guy is rated higher will always pan out, or let alone be that much superior when the field is so stacked...
  4. Again, we hear this all the time. And yet, we still see guys going later that pan out better. I love the top three, and if one of them slide, awesome. If not, by all means wait and you can absolutely expect guys later in the class to have an impact. Just because those guy are that good, doesn't take away from the immense talent this class has to offer. Moreover, to just blindly assume it's not at all possible for any of those guys to flop/bust is also extremely irrational. The most high profile of specs have flopped in the past. Again, I would love to get my hands on one of them, but not at the cost of giving up assets to go get one. Not a chance with the depth of the class.
  5. It's a mismanagement of assets. The depth of the class allows you to wait. Look at last year as an example Deebo Samuel, AJ Brown, DK Metcalf, etc... To assume if you dont get one of the top three that you automatically can't find a good player is asinine.
  6. Every year we go thru this at the WR position, and almost every draft the second round and beyond out produce the the first round. There is no doubting the top three have elite attributes, but you absolutely do not look at this class and assume that there is no way you arent going to find top tier talent littered up and down. There is a reason this is being talked about as a historic class.
  7. This has nothing to do with Sammy Watkins and everything to do with the depth of the position in the class. Its tough, because, while Reagor had among the lowest, if not the lowest catchable pass rate of any WR in this class, I think he was also credited with nine or so drops. So, while Reagor does have some electric talent, the hands are something worth noting.
  8. If Beane trades up for a WR, in this class, I'll lose a lot of faith in his judgement.
  9. These would be my two as well. Conklin is far less likely, but I think Judon could be within reach.
  10. The same people saying they dont want Olsen, will be the same ones complaining when hes producing with another team. Then they will bash Beane for not being able to sign him.
  11. I understand these are just mocks, I do them all the time for fun, they can be addicting. However, if Buffalo takes a RB in the second round, in this class. I'll quit this upcoming season before it starts lol
  12. Shenault all day if he there when we pick, and its not even close.
  13. Despite the fact hes openly stated multiple times that he wants to still play.
  14. Shenault if he is there. If not best edge rusher available. If not then trade back.
  15. Its maddening the amount of drops this year.
  16. My only hangup, the continuity these guys has formulated. I think being in a system, with the same teammates, same coaches, etc... for a few years absolutely holds water. To an extent, I think it's why big time FAs sometimes flounder. There is no chemistry, there is a lack of familiarity, a lack of drive, etc...
  17. Lets... f ucking... go
  18. I absolutely give Phillips a pay day. Shaq, while I love how hes developed, if he prices his way out, itll be tough, but understandable.
  19. He seems to also enjoy breaking down Bills film. I know he does it for every team, but just seems like he gets a little extra jazzed when he breaks us down.
  20. We are going to be selecting in a spot, where, you can kind of justify a handful of positions, and no real head and shoulders separation (as of now).. i.e. Higgins, Jefferson, Shenault, Aiyuk, Ruggs, etc... are almost all going to be ranked in a cluster, so much depth in the class.
  21. That's the benchmark? Because clearly it holds zero water if the guy mightily regresses afterwards.
  22. I dont understand why Daboll got away from targeting Beasley.
  23. Already seeing a panic button hit over a rookie who was said to need time to learn his position in the NFL... Well done TBD
  24. So, now its safe to call out probably the weakest link on our defense?
