One thing I hope people realize when they say that, we could have afforded that 1) Would said player would have wanted to come here? - Are they coming strictly to cash in, or are they going to be the same player they were before they got the pay day? 2) Would the player really have been a fit? 3) Would the organization want to allocate that much of its cap to that position? You can argue that if you cant find a way to use Hooper, than it's on the team, not the player. Yet we have seen many of FA targets flop for some of the reasons mentioned above.

Because, outside of the name Clowney has not even come close to living up to the draft status/hype. I listened to that pod, and it didn't seem like a smear campaign, as much as it was factual based arguments as to why no one should be paying Clowney that ask.

I'm legit curious if some people know what a trade is. A lot of people have responded with current FAs. Signing a FA does not mean we traded for them.

That's very true, but money also talks. I figured they would likely have to way overpay, but their GM has to be desperate to find a line to protect Darnold. I mean, all things considered, the top OTs in this class are legit, so even them going OT, will be good for them. Especially since present day we lack elite pass rush... But, push those WRs down!!!
