The problem with a 40-50 yard penalty, ball at the one, is that the refs have virtually given the "O" a sure 7 points. The games, especially championships, should be determined by the players, not the refs. That being said, if you made PI a 15yd penalty, here's what the "D" would do. Any time you're beat, do the PI so as not to give up 7. It would be the new strategy

I Am Sick Of Hearing That GW Was A
MarkyMannn replied to Bill from NYC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm not sure TD gave GW a fair shake here. The first year TD gutted the roster and gave GW nothing to work with. The second year GW takes it to 8-8. The 3rd year GW again gets nothing to improve the team as we make no FA signing and draft Willis. And if you think GW doesn't have it, well Joe Gibbs does. Top "D" and heir apparent to Joe G. End of argument -
I don't know. I'd like to think there was no intent to injure. When Van Oelhofen grabs his leg and pulls it tight to his body and then rolls over it, well you got to know that is going to injure his knee. Still, after the play, Van Oelhofen appears to be upset he injured him too. What is bad is Palmer does have a messed up knee now. Comparable to Willis?

Carolina's offense looked good Sunday, they could really POUND the ball. Dan Henning???

Will Marv Look at M. Milliams the same way
MarkyMannn replied to Nick in RaChaCha's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Bruce's game was NOT turned around by Marv. Believe it or not it was Hank Bullough who put "the sails in his wind". Seriously it was HB who rode him about his conditioning, and Bruce had his break out year in 1986 with 15 sacks under Hank, or at least as long as HB lasted that season -
Solving the BILLS problems is SIMPLE
MarkyMannn replied to VIPP's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You want to solve the Bills problems? Start by hiring back Greg Williams. His team looks great. And Joe Gibbs knows when he has a good one. Any poster disagreeing with that, go talk to Gibbs and let him give you an education about football -
This board has become disgusting with the age
MarkyMannn replied to Fan in San Diego's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
8 years or so ago Marv was run out of town because the belief was the game had passed him by. Now after out of the game for that time, 8 years older, he's looked at as some messiah to raise the dead. He was in his early 60's when he was out-coached in 4 SB's. I think we have been set back at least 3 more years -
You are a reporter at the press conference today

Ask Marv to lead in a rousing rendition of "GO BILLS" Hope the Alzheimers isn't too far along. Here's a guy we ran out of Buffalo because the game had passed him by. Now almost 10 years later, at 80, he's the best we could do?!?!?!? -
That could be the organization's biggest failure this year. Because of that we still have a BIG QB question for next year

I feel like saying I won't re-new, but I probably will. I'm in the corner at the scoreboard end. I'm thinking of moving to the corner at the tunnel end because there always seems to be more action there at that end. Every game, every 1st/2nd half kick-off is to that end where play starts. Only once this year did a kick-off come to my end. Not sure why on that one occasion. Trouble is I like my seats, and the season ticket holders around me. It's the single game people that can be out there. I saw more than a few instances this year that made me think "why do I come to this?". Still, I could walk away from my seats for a year or 3 and come back and get somethin pretty close to these
-
For a guy averaging 75yds per game without a meaningful play all year, you could get someone one heck of a lot cheaper than him. I don't see what he would bring to the negotiating table to get him more $$$$$$$$

Does Mike William totally lack heart?
MarkyMannn replied to Fake-Fat Sunny's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Until I forget about the episode where he wrecked his truck on Sunday morning in route to RWS, and then decided to sit out the game, YES HE HAS NO HEART. -
Scoring from other than the offense. Without McGee's pick, I believe Cinci would have gone down field to at least tie it and force OT. But an "extra" 14 points won it for us. Think about it, that could be one of the major reasons our record could have been a few wins better this year. Last year we got 10TD's, 70 points from the "D" and special teams. Now we had to wait until game 15 and what do you know, we won a game we shouldn't have. that "extra" 70 points could have made a difference this year

The Bills that gave it their all
MarkyMannn replied to 1billsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Really more of a Phil Hansen type. Solid, all-around player. But not a star -
Willis was good last year. But this year he reminds me of Antoine Smith. He doesn't seem to make anything happen on his own. He shows limited power and no elusiveness. If the line doesn't bust a hole, he gets nothing. Even when they do, the first guy to Willis ends the play. He doesn't show the ability to keep it going himself

for those who continue to insist that we are ...
MarkyMannn replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Extend the elite part to coaching.............Mularkey? Ironic, Wade looked pretty good shutting down the Colts. Greg Williams is again a top coach candidate, stuffed the Cowboys yesterday. I guess Joe Gibbs knows how to pick them -
Eric Moulds will be in the PRO BOWL next year....
MarkyMannn replied to BuffBills#1's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree. Regardless of what TD thinks about him, his salary forces him to leave. So at the end of your career, go with a winner even if you loose some cash. It's worth it and he has already made a ton of $$$. Bill B respects his game too. Hey, here's a thought. Watching SD-Colts right now. Go to Indy and team up with your old bud Marvin H and let Manning throw all day to you. After all Reggie Wayne is gone next year and that creates a WR opening at Indy -
Vote for your favorite Mike Williams injury
MarkyMannn replied to HelloNewman's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What about when he crashed his REAL wheels on the way to RWS on gameday a few years back. Then sat out the game cause he was upset. What, his spinner hubcaps wouldn't turn any more? -
It actually comes down to the second option. The Bills won't hold onto him because of his salary, and there is no reason for MW to take a pay cut. So they'll release him in the end. Why take a cut to say $1.5m? Some club will believe they can get him to achieve, and offer him like $5-6 million just to sign plus salary. So now he pockets a windfall right up front
-
Myself I only see the Jets game as a win.............5-11
-
Ralph won't pull the plug this year, yet both deserve it. I see the Bills splitting the Miami-NY games and losing the rest to end 5-11. I think the future is not all that rosy with the current cap, age, and talent of the roster. We'll see
-
So release him after the 4 games, and you don't have to pay him anything ever again. I doubt any other team would be in the salary cap position at this time of the year to pick him up at the contract he wants. Of course that means the Eagles lose their chance to trade him for something. Might be worth it just to stick it to TO
-
So he's suspended, and to be de-activated. Does he still get his gameday paycheck? If he still gets the check $$$, the disciplinary stuff is pretty hollow
-
Carolina, Pats, Bronc's and Bengals.............don't see us winning any of those. Split Fish and Jet games..............yeah I can see 5-11. You know if the roster purge happens next year of old and/or expensive guys, I could see 3-13 in 2006. Goodbye seasons, I'll put my entertainment $$$ some where else
