The Bills made some great offseason pkups last yr on Defense, Hyde, Poyer, Tre, Milano & Gaines were very good additions to this team. These additions were great in value and helped us break the 17yr drought . But what's the common theme here there all defensive players. Mcd being a defensive minded coach might had alot to do with these moves as he found guys that fit his scheme like a glove. What about the offense? What went wrong here? I think its safe to say none of these guys earned there keep on the field this yr and most alarming to me is none of these players offer much as far as difference maker talents. The Wrs are all big and slow and don't have much speed to spread the field. Dimarco and Tolbert are blah blah players that didn't contribute very much either. Is this a sign to be concerned about? DiMarco - where was all the passes he was supposed to catch? Plus he's not even that good of a blocker Tolbert - the biggest head scratcher of them all . I see how he brings a leadership role to the team but he should never be a #2 RB in the NFL. Actually he never has in his 12 seasons. He was always a FB/ short yardage bk Zay, Matthews & Benjamin These 3 i can say the same thing bout big & slow can't separate is this how we want our wrs looking from here on out. Do we have reason to be concerned about the lack of talent evaluation on the offensive side of the ball.

At Last, a GM Who Values Comp Picks
NastyNateSoldiers replied to Thurman#1's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm not arguing the fit I'm arguing the value. Btw Gaines wasnt traded for Darby. We could of possibly traded for Gaines for the 3rd we got for Darby and kept Sammy. Gaines wasn't a fit in Wade system either and was coming off of an injury plagued season. Mof we probably could of gotten him for a 5th and kept that 3rd we got in return for Darby. I'm not a big fan of the trades we made this last offseason. I think we could of done better. Matthews is a average wr at best and was probably gonna get cut from philly roster . I would of asked for Mychal Kendricks instead . -
At Last, a GM Who Values Comp Picks

We had until week 10 to correct this so it falls on Beane. Darby plays in alot of zone in Schwartz defense. He looks pretty comfortable in his scheme which is very similar to Mcd D -

I don't believe it we could of had a extra third if the Bills would have cut Ducasse, Davis & Holmes by week 10 of last season. Beane was in charge and he didn't make the necessary cuts to do so . Ducasse was a starter on the line but he was easily replaceable the others where just rotation guys. BTW we traded Darby for a 3 just think bout that. Darby is more valuable then 3 journeymen rotation players. Just doesn't make sense to me. -
Not to mention all the calls they get . Which some think is a product of bad officiating and i think it's a product of Manufactured Dynasty. Bad officiating goes both ways sooner or later the bad should go towards the Pats but somehow there immune to this. Therefore its not a coincidence. This is why i hate the Pats.

If the Bills get a veteran QB...........
NastyNateSoldiers replied to njbuff's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It is a big deal u can't continue to throw pks in the garbage. I don't care where they are. Yes u can go safe but that doesn't mean u will keep your job after 3yrs anyways. Basically most guys get fired nowadays after 2, 3 yrs the NFL is constantly churning guys in and out whether its players or front office & coaches and the ones that seem to keep there jobs are the teams that have that franchise saving QB. So its definitely an interesting Balance. At the end of the day i guess u got to be more lucky then good . -
This happens and it doesn't work out Mcd needs to be fired. Plain and simple. Especially if Mahomes or Watson become stars. I like Mcd as a coach but i question his ability to make front office GM moves. Last yr in the draft we had 2 potential guys we could started the process with but like the long line of Defensive Head Coaches we've had he just had to draft the Cornerback first. I realize Tre is a good player but u just can't compare to what we possibly missed on.

Wr and TE are weak in this yrs class. Last yr was loaded at TE probably the best ever and we still didn't take one. Wr was also very good these last 2, 3 yrs and we haven't been able to hit when we take a guy. Zay to me has really nothing special bout his gm. Its safe to say we reached badly by trading up for him while Wrs that went after him look and play much better. Galladay looks like a beast as well as Kupp and Godwin.

Mechanics can be taught, the mindset he has is more valuable to his growth . If he's teachable which it looks that way he will be very good maybe even scary good. I was saying this last yr its something i never said bout any QB i ever scouted he looks like a Cyborg like a mix of great QBs. One play he'll do something that Russ does, the next something Rodgers does. Against Denver on a 3rd and 15th he had a defender riding him down on his back and threw the ball on a rope for a 1st down, Ala Big Ben. He also has some Cutler in him he needs to clean that up. Lol

The Time is Now McBeane!
NastyNateSoldiers replied to NastyNateSoldiers's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree , the premise of my message from the beginning was if the Bills feel believe there's a bona-fide Franchise QB they can get possibly . Then they need to do what it takes to get him. Don't let holes at other positions get in the way. In no way shape or form was i saying to take a shot in the complete darkness and hope they hit the target. They need to take a calculated risk based on there projections of that QB. Now if McBeane doesn't really feel this way bout any prospects then don't even try to move up. But please don't SETTLE! that's the worst thing we can do is get to 21-22 and take the best of the rest hoping he can be the guy . Ej Manuel situation is what u don't want. Please don't reach for need. I might be overthinking this because of past mistakes this org has made i feel like I've been burned by this in the past so i might have some trust issues. I also feel that Mason and Lamar are not first rd prospects not at all. So my point is don't waste your pks make sure u stand by your convictions. -
Mason Rudolph has tiny hands

Very good pts. I would like to add that the whole deflatgate thing would of been a mute pt had #12 had larger hands. Not to mention larger hands are important when it comes to arm strength. -

I trust my eyes not asking u to do the same. That's the kind of guy i am . These media writing articles talking on tv u have no clue what there angle truly is are they paid by the players agent to hype players? Are they told to put a guy high in there mock for click bait . I love to identify talent its a hobby of mine . -

U can read all u like i choose to see with my eyes. Over the yrs i've hit on more top flight QBs and called out some busts by doing the scouting all by myself then actual gms in the NFL. I'm not saying I'm always right or wrong but i know i got a great feel for this . So read up buddy. -

First off Mayfield looks just like Garropollo to me almost identical doesn't matter how much he plays in the NFL. I think the comps to Russ and Brees are a little lazy. 2nd thing the weaknesses these guys have are all fixable on the next level. Over the yrs ive learned the most important attributes to have are Vision Accuracy Timing Anticipation Adequate Arm Strenght If u have those attributes u have a great chance of succeeding on the next level. U just have to be used correctly by your team and most importantly work hard on craft as QB that's meaning perfecting your strenghts and working hard on your weaknesses. -

I never said there were 3 elite prospects in this draft. What i said is if the Bills have 3 then they need to trade up and get one of them. I actually have 2 good to great prospects. Darnold and Mayfield. Darnold 20yrs 6,4 230 Pro Comp Carson Wentz Skills Great size atletism Vision Accuracy Throws into tight windows Anticipation Good Strong Arm , u don't need a rocket launcher to be a great NFL QB u need to be able to get the ball to locations with speed and velocity. Hardly any of the top NFL QBs these days have a cannon arm. Brady, Brees, Manning i never seen these guys throw bullet passes all over the field . Weaknesses that can be fixed on NFL level Mechanics Foot work Reading Defenses Pocket Awareness Mayfield 22yrs, 6,1 215 My Pro comp Jimmy Garropollo Master Pocket Awareness Anticipation Accuracy Vision Good Arm ( makes all throws) Decent Athlete Weaknesses Holds ball to long at times Has prbs throwing into tight windows Footwork and mechanics need some work. Doesn't have ideal height for QB 6, 1. I have both these guys as really good propects i give them over 65% chances of being franchise blue chip signal callers in the NFL . To me there both worth trading up for -

Alright keep scouting your Corners and DEs while other holes popping up on your team from yr to yr basis like a rotating door. All while other teams are finding there future QBs and Outpacing us to the finish line. -

Dude your list looks awfully bad, Tebow was not elite prospect neither was Wuerffel as well as others on your list. That doesnt really matter either way because there's been busts at every position at every spot in the draft. There is no sure way of knowing if a guy is gonna pan out. We can sit there at 21,22 and take 2 busts then what. U can't look at the draft this way and if u do your in the wrong business if you're an NFL GM . These guys get paid to do there jobs and use every tool they have to make the best decision for there teams if they believe a guy has a chance to be a blue chip player theyre gonna take there chances -

Its definitely important hand size especially for smaller QBs like Russ or Brees and now Mayfield . Ej had other poor attributes that killed his gm like slow eyes. -

Who's rankings are u talking bout there isnt some advisory board that gives them out to teams to go by or for the fans to see . I mean we got the Kipers, Mayocks of the world but i highly doubt the Bills go by them. Whoever they seem fit whatever names may be if they see a realistic chance for the guy they want to be a franchise QB and there's a way to trade for him the Bills shouldn't let anything get in there way of acquiring that said QB. I'm tired of them bypassing our biggest need for the sake of other positions needs such as CB, RB , Wr etc, etc. People always worried bout trading up and taking a bust. Well news flash my fellow Bills fan sitting there at 21,22 doesnt guarantee u anything also. I mean on a yr to yr basis half the first rd is full of busts anyways. I'd rather swing big or go home then sit pat and collect dust. -

Mayfield is no where near a drunk he's not Manzeil people need to stop with this lazy comparisons. I believe he's the best out of the 3 if he was 2inches taller he would definitely be drafted ahead of them. The kid has great anticipation and vision he manipulates the pocket like a seasoned pro already. He understands his height and plays around it just like Brees or Russ. The most important physical feature on a smaller guy is hand size and his hands are big. -

Elite prospects, Nobody is a slam dunk coming out of college but if they check the majority of attributes your looking for then go get one of them. I'm not a scout but i can tell u from watching over 30yrs of football these 3 have the most chance of excelling on the next level. There's a steep drop off to Allen, Lamar and especially Mason. If the Bills brain trust believes in them go get em no matter the cost. Basically what I'm saying is let's not let a need at another position keep us from getting a QB that can possibly be here for 15yrs or so. Holes can be filled with the rest of the draft and free agency and even via player development on the roster. When i say McBeane its obviously in reference to both men as a team.
