I couldn't believe he went back out. Especially since he was so clearly out of gas that he couldn't muster one real stride to clear the zone. Mitts is supposed to be a smart player. How did he not see the play coming into the zone and realize he needed to clear? His lazy BS robbed Quinn of a goal after Jack earned his way back into the lineup and had a decent game on 4th line. That could have been a nice confidence boost after the kid was a healthy scratch.

He's one half of what is often considered the best safety duo in the league. Unless he's physically unable to play, he is unlikely to be cut next year despite your compelling arguments. Sounds valuable to me. What do you think the trade market looks like for Hamlin? OR Jaquan? Or a Jaquan Hamlin package? Sounds like we should cut the entire secondary and start over by your logic.

Seattle played fast and murdered us in the counter attack all night. They were buzzing all night, pressuring our D and got a lot of point blank chances and odd man rushes. They were first to every puck, crisp passes. You would have never guessed they were the winless scrubs entering that game. Power got victimized a few times on bad pinches and got caught flat footed at the blue line giving up a breakaway. Buffalo had a tough night offensively. Passing lanes were clogged, Tage, Skinner, and Tuch were forcing it all night. Buffalo's only goal (thanks to Mitts being a lazy bastard) was fluky but it came during the only stretch where they managed sustained pressure. The Power Play is a mess. 0 for 4 last night. Skinner needs to go to second unit or no unit. He forces garbage to the middle and turns the pack over too frequently but he was hardly alone last night. Comrie played really well in my opinion. He was hung out to dry all night. He turned away a breakaway and a number of point blank scoring chances.

Its the group think. We all agree that edmunds suck but we don't understand his role in this defense and we want to extend him for top 5 LB money this offseason. Do you....disagree!?
-
And Edmunds is trash but we should extend him at all costs.

The quarterback of our secondary. Impeccable football instincts. Communication.

This board fights all day about pretty much every topic. The only "group think" is the universal disdain for your threads.

2022 World Series: Houston Astros vs. Philadelphia Phillies
Jauronimo replied to Gugny's topic in Off the Wall
Do you know how you can tell who is a Philly sports fan in a group of strangers? The Philly fan will be the one hitting you in the face with a hammer. Philadelphians are just bad people and sports is just an excuse for their violent urges. Go Astros! -
MNF: Chicago Bears at NE Patriots - with Manningcast!
Jauronimo replied to Beck Water's topic in The Stadium Wall
This was another trash classic. Its amazing the Bears managed over 20 points with the pathetic show that is their passing game. Fields losing 10 yards per sack anytime he tried to drop back was some ugly stuff. The Pats should be embarrassed they got smoked by this putrid offense. -

I know that team is a dumpster fire but I really don't think inserting some random muscly gay men into the lineup is going to be better than low end professional football players. -
Yes. Our offensive lineman and receivers started dropping like flies due to heat and cramping. It was the first time I have ever seen "Heat Illness" on the injury report. Allen was running for his life and throwing to backup TEs and fullbacks while Diggs and McKenzie were running half speed out there. We lost by attrition.

My admiration for Dick Jauron whose coaching tenure was known for its gutsy play calling and fearless approach to punting inside the offensive 50.
-
Quinn concerns me too. He was nearly invisible in the AHL playoffs last year when going up against grown men. I think he might have been battling injuries but he struggled to find time and space and was too easily taken off the puck. I have not noticed him much so far and hes already a healthy scratch 2 games into the season.

Peterka and Cozens with [non-entity] continues to be a great combination. I think Mitts took offense to my "too damn slow" comments because he showed some real speed on the shorty. Tuch and Tage have it going. I am surprised Skinner is not getting on the score sheet. Last year, Skinner and Tage had the big chemistry and Tuch was the workhorse on that line. I am ready to publicly declare that I like Hinostroza in the lineup and I don't care who knows it. Whether hes playing with the 4th liners or paired with Cozens he brings speed that makes a difference in any role hes asked to play. We have a few guys with playmaking and finishing talent like Quinn, Mitts, Oloffson but that isn't worth much when they lack the physicality to get the puck up ice and maintain possession.

We need our run game to reliably be able to get one yard when everyone knows we're running and a run game that can keep defenses honest. Thats it. Thats all we need out of the run game to win a super bowl this year. A home run threat at RB is a luxury. Pretty sure thats what Cook is supposed to be and we don't use him yet. I don't think there are too many backs in the league today who truly make up for bad line play. Even guys like Saquon disappeared for a few years behind a trash Oline in NY. Bad WB play didnt help.

I believe the answer is that both Daboll and Dorsey have liked the passing options we have when lining up in formations that suit the zone run scheme. I'm butchering it, but I have read that the pin and pull either limits our passing looks or risks telegraphing run plays based on how we line up.

Christian Wade. Don't tell anyone
-
And your plan is to piss away resources to upgrade Moss so some other guy can get tackled in the backfield?
-
We have a furnace. But you running back enthusiasts want a new one because its cold in the house. Meanwhile all theres a Saffold and Bates sized hole in the roof.
-
None. Unfortunately, I don't think anyone is looking to move capable lineman in a league filled with bad line play. If we are talking about efficient use of our resources, I don't think buying a new furnace to heat the house makes sense when theres a Saffold sized hole in the roof.

No one is quitting on Cook. He needs to do more with his chances and earn the trust of his coaches and teammates. Its a long season. He will get more chances and I am confident that he won't let his next opportunity slip through his fingers. Getting Cook and Shakir going before January should be a priority for this offense in my opinion.
-
He barely gets double digit carries per game. Hes hardly being run into the ground. This is a pass first offense with a pass first offensive line.

A couple of options worth exploring are: 1. improving interior offensive line 2. improving interior offensive line 3. improving interior offensive line 4. improving right tackle 5. improving interior offensive line
