Is having a #1 WR that important or just good to have?
Jauronimo replied to Saxum's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The article cited in the OP is objectively stupid. If the choice is to have give Allen an AB, Hopkins, or OBJ vs not, all other things equal, I'm strongly in the camp that you give your QB a true #1 WR. I don't even see how that's debatable. The real question is one of resource allocation. Is a true #1 WR the best option given the money they command? Is WR by committee a better option? Debatable. For his progression, I would love it if Allen had a Deandre Hopkins type target who is open even when he's covered for a year or two while he learns the game. While we didn't land a true number one we at least added another true deep threat and a real Edelmand/Welker style slot receiver. Foster and Brown can take the top off and keep safeties honest giving opportunities for Beasely, Zay, and our run game. -

Its your opinion that #1 WR is underlighting or a fancy decal on a car and I think it improves performance. Its ok, we don't have to agree. You said something flippant and I don't feel like engaging you for 4 hours while you try to justify it since we both know you're not going to drop it or walk it back. -

Lets not move the goal posts and change the question entirely. -

The same logic could be used to diminish the impact of every position in football except for maybe QB. Even HoF QBs aren't going to the playoffs every year. You can say no position particularly matters in football outside of QB but I maintain we have a better chance of winning with good or even great LTs, DEs, WRs, CBs, RBs, LBs despite what the "logic" here might dictate. -

They are better with them. Do you think the Giants would have been better last year without OBJ or the Falcons better without Julio? -

Its asinine to make diminish the impact of OBJ, AB, Julio, AJ Green based on playoff appearances. -
Welp - I'm off the Josh Allen bandwagon

The winning-est QB of all time wears Uggs and got a face lift this offseason. Maybe this is a good thing? -
You procreated? My general feelings of terror for the future are slowly being overcome by my shock that one, you found a willing partner and two, managed to fight off an ear biting window licking spasm long enough to complete the deed. It seems I have slightly underestimated you.

Pretty sure that was @Royale with Cheese. I stand corrected. Women, even morbidly obese women, simply lack the mass to stand up to the punches in a fight with an adult man.

Did your new squeeze insist on bringing her 2 kids to Date Night featuring Chilis?

I have had great success making this dough recipe but it does take some kneading and I've found the order of operations in mixing affects the final product (although it was probably just dead yeast, temp, humidity). https://www.epicurious.com/recipes/food/views/master-dough-with-starter-51255340 The finished product has been amazing. The few disasters have been: old yeast AND stretching/launching cold dough. Now if in doubt I check dough temp with an instant read thermometer.

Anyone ever made no-knead pizza dough? I am going to make some tonight and give it a 48-72 hour cold ferment for pies this weekend. https://food52.com/recipes/16641-jim-lahey-s-no-knead-pizza-dough-margherita-pie Anyone got a recipe for Bocce/La Nova style pizza sauce?

WNY and the love of Blue Collar and Labbats Blue

Anyone else kinda burnt out on craft beer and cocktails? I think I've had just about every craft, local, small batch, artisanal, cruelty free, organic, free range, fair trade beer and liquor out there. The market is beyond saturated. I hate to break it to you, but most local breweries and distilleries are garbage. They do well because they're local and people don't know what quality looks like. Now the better craft brews from other parts of the country which used to be readily available on tap at my go to spots have been muscled out by local mediocrity. And its 105 degrees outside. I'll take a bucket of them beers with the blue mountains on the can or a zima. -

Pretty sure OP was legally allowed to drink within the last 12 months and just had his first Stella/Heineken. Now hes here to tell us all about this new thing called craft beer. -

People tend to have pride in where they're from especially when the rest of the country uses Buffalo as the butt end of cheap jokes and Buffalo is a city which was built on blue collar jobs. Labatt's main distribution and production is in Buffalo and Genny is made an hour down I-90 in Rochester. People like cheap beer. People like local. Is this really a mystery? -
When did Don Beebe become a Bills legend???
Jauronimo replied to Ethan in Cleveland's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Beebe was the only member of the 4 times Super Bowl losing Bills to be awarded a ceremonial Super Bowl ring for his indomitable heart and non-stop effort. That, my friends, is the definition of legend.
