Will the Stadium Stay in Orchard Park? Hear me out
Jauronimo replied to Hammered a Lot's topic in Off the Wall Archives
You're so fed up about reckless spending that you want all or nothing? Either 100% fiduciary responsibility or stadiums, bridges to no where, and handouts for all? Makes sense. -
Baseball also has a storied and celebrated history of cheating. Pitchers have written books about how they broke the rules with spitters, nail files, grease, you name it. Stealing signals and whistling pitches was another time honored tradition of the game until a few days ago. Did the phrase "if you aint cheating you aint trying" originate in baseball? I don't get all the outrage now that these practices have gone to the next level.

I hate that billionaire owners and the most profitable professional sports league in the country (world?) extorts municipalities for new stadiums with the threat of relocation. I hate that self-interested and spineless politicians play ball with the NFL as a platform for re-election. -
Tremaine Edmunds will be playing in the Pro Bowl

Totally agree. You can't play football half speed and non-contact like you can in the hockey or basketball all star game. Either let them play flag football or move away from a football contest all together. An AFC vs. NFC variety competition would be perfect. 20 events, everyone must participate. I want to see an Olineman teamed with a kicker in the 2 legged race. I want to see DBs v WRs in the potato sack race. A hotdog eating competition. Limbo. Duck duck goose. You name it. The more ridiculous the better and I guarantee it'd be 5x as entertaining as the farce we call the Pro Bowl. -

Skills competition and then an NFC v AFC dodgeball game. Or a spelling bee. -
The players speak highly of Daboll, particularly Beasely and Allen. For the sake of Allen's development I would like to see him and Daboll have on more year together before making any judgement. So often we see young QBs go through a carousel of OCs each with a different playbook and philosophy. I want Allen to have another year to learn to play QB in teh current system with a consistent voice rather than see him learn a brand new playbook.

Gore had two torn hamstrings. Allen's spleen exploded in week 3. Yeldon played all year with an in-grown penis. Its incredible what these guys will play through to win.

There's no such thing as a bit far when the risk reward is so absurdly slanted. Best case, a few people come together and form bonds more quickly under shared stress and do not resent their tormentor. Worst case, rape, death. The institution of hazing is indefensible. The liability presented by hazing is too great for any organization.

My frat was also suspended for hazing. While nothing close to the behavior detailed in the Penn State allegations occurred at my frat (wanton acts of homosexuality were reserved for brothers and totally forbidden for pledges) hazing has a tendency to get more extreme and out of control no matter how harmless it may start. Every year some kid dies as a result of hazing gone bad. Every year, crimes like assault and sexual abuse are committed in the name of hazing. Its an unacceptable outcome.
