I completely disagree. Murph couldn't hold Kelsay's jock. Kelsay was a decent defensive end and did just fine playing opposite of Schobel. He never lived up to his 2nd round hype but he was a legit NFL starter and considerably better than Murph. People mostly remember Kelsay's time as a standup OLB edge rusher and his seemingly annual contract extensions which were just mind boggling. Gailey and his string of brilliant defensive coordinators deserve blame for letting Kelsay get burned in coverage all day. Playing his natural position, Kelsay was a halfway decent DE. EDIT: Nevermind. Just checked his stats and it turns out KELSAY SUCKSSSSSSS!!!

I do not think that long-term personnel decisions are made based on speculation regarding abbreviated training camps this year. At least I pray that isn't affecting Beane's draft strategy. May as well trade all our picks away and retain everyone who knows the playbook.

We played their third string QB the year Brady was suspended. Jimmy G was the starter and was 2-0. He goes down and Brisset still shuts out the Texans. Brissett broke his thumb in that game and was immediately IR'd in week 5 when Brady was eligible to return to the 3-1 Pats. I fully expect NE to be competitive next year.

Big difference is that Diggs is already an established player, he cost 1 first rounder rather than 2, and we were likely to go WR in the first round and we hope whoever we may have taken in the first round is as good as Diggs one day.
