[Vague Title] The King..Is out there..Sammy
Jauronimo replied to plenzmd1's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is disappointing on multiple levels. I was a big time Sammy supporter amidst the critics here and had no idea he was squandering his talent partying. It also hurts that he never cut me in. I almost bought his jersey for christs sake (until I remembered wearing jerseys was for children and slow adults) and he couldn't even spare a lousy key bump?!?!?! But what hurts the most, is the lack of respect! -

Fauci: virus will decide season
Jauronimo replied to The 9 Isles's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Those stadiums are public property. I am certain that the NFL does NOT have authority to operate contrary to state and municipal laws just because you and I want to watch some football. -
Fauci: virus will decide season
Jauronimo replied to The 9 Isles's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I am pretty sure that local and state governments have more power than the NFL in deciding when gatherings of 80,000 fans can take place in their backyard again and last I checked Fauci was still part of the President's team advising the nation on re-opening procedures. I think hes involved in guiding public policy due to his 40 something years as a leading voice in the study of infectious disease including advising every sitting president since Reagan. -

How McDermott and Frazier confuse offenses
Jauronimo replied to Buffalo716's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I can't find the article anymore but I recall a scathing tell all about the dysfunction at One Bills Drive during Rex and Whaley era which discussed this topic. Looking back at the transactions the only move that makes sense is James Ihedigbo being IR'd around that time. Anyone remember what I am talking about? This came out well after Rex and Doug were fired. It was a big tell all which confirmed a lot of the rumors which had floated around during the time. -
Depends on how the deal was financed. Upcoming debt maturities related to a sizeable acquisition and months of no cash flow sounds exactly like how a business can find themselves flirting with bankruptcy in short order.

How McDermott and Frazier confuse offenses
Jauronimo replied to Buffalo716's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yup. Poorly coached, poorly executed, and no communication between front office and coach could not have helped. Rex/Rob couldn't get the call in and get guys lined up on either side of the ball. I think this sums up Rex's tenure. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000764204/article/rex-ryan-buffalo-bills-10men-fail-cost-us-the-game With the playoffs on the line, we have 10 men on the field because Rex subbed in a guy Whaley released during the week. -

Its called a Pickleback. I think it was invented by or named after that Canadian band that everyone loves, Crash Test Dummies. -
Brady and the Bucs get 5 Primetime games
Jauronimo replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You think even casual football fans aren't aware that Brady no longer plays for the Pats and won't figure it out after 2, 3, or even 4 prime time games? -
The review process in football has gotten away from what it was always intended to be and is now like what you described above. It was only meant to overturn call which were glaringly obvious upon replay. The standard described was that the average person in a bar could see that the call was wrong. Now they're zooming in to see if any rubber pellets flew which could indicate a toe grazed the playing surface, fractions of an inch on first down replays, and fractions of a second for possession. It was meant to be a system where if with a good camera angle on the field the official can't immediately rule then call on field stands, game back on.
-
I would like to see it go to NYC or have a sky judge at the stadium in a booth with all the replays. Direct communication with the ref on the field. Absolutely not more "going under the hood". Roster spots are too valuable to continue to carry an enforcer when the whole league basically disarmed. Its like why aren't NBA offenses running through dominant centers anymore? The game evolved.
-
I wish they would just centralize the video review process. If the color guys can figure out PI from replay while the officials are still huddling then I do not see why the head office could not cover PI, personal fouls, spot of the ball, catch/drop, down/not down in real time. Get the call right on field as fast as possible. Having the refs go under that ridiculous curtain to review a play is asinine.

I can't recall any instances where PI was overturned.
