Drew Brees: Controversial comments

The Manning Estate was built on the nutsack stained foreheads of countless women. -
Changes in legislation, like amending extradition articles, justify protesting and rioting but inequality in the application of existing legislation does not qualify? The question isn't what freedoms are being taken away from Americans. The question is are the rights that Americans already have being protected and enforced equally for all Americans? And that likely explains the night and day difference in attitudes between the two threads. Much of PPP doesn't think their fellow citizens protesting perceived injustice have a legit case. Its not about the violence in the protest, or the looting, or law and order its about the validity of the underlying issue. I agree that Beijing cares nothing for the rights of their citizens. A significant portion of the American public believes their lives are less valuable in the eyes of their government.

So the difference in your eyes is one protest is invalid and the other was justified?

If my texts were revealed I'd be facing deportation or prison time. -
Gotta love the market. Daily new cases of COVID are flat - market pumps. Rioting has slowed down - market pumps. Unemployment not as bad as the massive predictions - market pumps.

Buffalo PD assault older gentleman, leave him to bleed

This is an incident where the outcome is way worse than the actions. If he maintains his balance that light shove would like restraint. There have been many egregious acts of police brutality the past few days which received zero airtime but this was not one of them. -
Then you'll have no problem explaining the major differences between the protests and why any comparisons to the attitudes expressed in the two threads are invalid.

Exactly. Squirting condiments is the ultimate sign of disrespect. Thats why we do it to Pinto Ron. I bet he'd kneel for the anthem. -

https://theundefeated.com/features/colin-kaepernick-protests-anthem-over-treatment-of-minorities/ Is it inherently disrespectful to not feel represented in and proud of our nation at all times? -

The bolded is a false analogy. No merit. Which is it? Is kneeling inherently disrespectful or WAS kneeling disrespectful because of his intent according to you? Apparently all of his other ACTIONS do not matter either, like standing for God Bless America or his activism directly related to his stated cause. You disregard those ACTIONS and insist his intent was simply to disrespect the flag. He said he did not feel proud of the country given his views of widespread injustice and inequality. I find it troubling that so many see failure to comply with our out of place displays of nationalism at all times as an affront to all things American. -

Socks are a garment typically worn on the foot but can be worn on the hands if you're into puppetry (this is not recommended). Sometimes socks have decorations on them or patterns. Some adults think wearing silly socks or socks with pictures on them like pigs, or cops, or cop pigs, are a substitute for actually having a personality. These people are wrong. -

Have you considered the option that everyone understands your oversimplifications and still disagrees? Kaepernick spoke at great length what he was protesting. To disregard his words because of an idiom like "actions speak louder than words" while disregarding all of his other actions is about as compelling as citing "breakfast is the most important meal of day" for why Kaep meant to disrespect the flag. -

We did the pledge every morning. Its quite strange looking back at it that as a 5 year old I swore allegiance to the flag and my country every morning. But after the pledge we sat down. So it seems that the act of sitting or taking a knee isn't disrespecting a flag else we're all guilty. Kaep always stood for God Bless America. -

His intentions are clearly to disrespect the anthem. He's been on record that he believes its a poor composition. -

That was low effort and dumb, even for you. Lets not conflate the flag, with the anthem, with the military, and with the country as a whole. The flag used to fly in every classroom. Did you stand all day at school or stand at attention? -

I'm pretty sure a shocking number of people who think Kaep should be tried for sedition have flag mankinis, shirts, and flag mud flaps. -

No one is silencing Brees. How exactly is kneeling disrespecting a flag? We don't stand for the flag, we stand for the national anthem. People sit, stand, do cartwheels, and lay down near flags all the time. -
Its interesting to compare the sentiments shared in this thread to the thread covering the Hong Kong protests.

Contrary to most posts, I have seen no evidence that individual was a store owner. He was apparently "protecting his neighborhood" with a short sword or gladius which remained sheathed. Earlier videos show he was being pelted by rocks and trash before singling out of one of the crowd and chasing a guy down. He was savagely beaten before he could do much of anything to the guy he was chasing. And hes still alive. https://www.star-telegram.com/news/local/dallas/article243153526.html

Draw your own conclusions. I haven't seen any demands for context on the dozens of other videos posted.
