Per Nick Wright: Bills will be a fringe contender.
Jauronimo replied to Leonitas's topic in The Stadium Wall
Nick Wright is playing on the old Howard Stern effect. Back in his glory days, they said people who loved Howard listened one hour a day and the people who hated him listened for four hours a day. Except nobody loves or even likes Nick Wright and the people who hate him (i.e., Bills Mafia) drive all his traffic. He found an easily excitable bunch and hes milking it for clicks. Its no different than Skip Bayless with his TO/Tebow/Johnny Football takes. -
Their D caused two of Allen's worst performances last year.

10/10/21 Gameday SNF Bills @ Chiefs Postgame Thread

Big win, a great performance all around. I fully expect the Chiefs to get better and win the AFC West. They are missing some key pieces on defense and aren't in sync right now. If we see them again this year, they will be tougher. -

https://www.espn.com/nfl/boxscore/_/gameId/401326408 We were credited with 2 sacks. The big stat is 8 QB hits while only allowing one. -
What did the chiefs do on defense?
Jauronimo replied to Miyagi-Do Karate's topic in The Stadium Wall
The only thing that stopped Bills offense all night was penalties. -
KC had 5 first downs from penalties. Buffalo had 1. Buffalo had 2x more penalty yards called against them. Yet Chiefs fans are whining about the officiating!
-
Somehow the officiating crew turned an offensive holding call on the Chiefs to 1st and 5 rather than 1st and 20 in the red zone. That was cute.

Past years have all had expectations of competing for the playoffs. This year is all about seeing if the young guys may pan out. There are zero expectations this year other than being a bottom feeder which should make a last place finish a little more palatable.

You misspelled world champions.

I agree. But winning in a game that looks much like our regular season matchup with them last year where we were outplayed on both sides of the ball and just trying not to lose control of the game will do little to ease my concerns that we just aren't true Super Bowl contenders. Win or lose, I need to see signs that we can make Mahomes uncomfortable in the pocket, that we have a plan to cover Kelce beyond let Edmunds get manipulated in zone all game, and that we can limit Tyreek. On offense I need to see that we are prepared for this deep shell and that we can run the ball when they're daring us to.

Yes, because I thought you might see how maddening and absurd it is to argue in that manner. Instead, to my surprise, you actually wanted to continue to trade ridiculous non-sequiturs and discuss Mike Williams, Erik Flowers, and Whitner as if they were at all relevant to the conversation.
-
You have missed the point so badly. Putting words in each others mouth is the lowest form of argument. i.e., if you disagree with me on this then you must by default agree with the following absurdities. Why anyone would want to have a conversation like that is beyond my comprehension. If I don't agree with you that drafting first round DBs is categorically wrong therefore I must want to re-sign Donte Whitner?!?! What relevance does Whitner have in this conversation? Why bring him up?? A bad pick is a bad pick.
-
Wait, so you're saying we should draft more Mike Williams and Erik Flowers?!?!
-
I don't think I've ever seen him smile. A lot of the hatred is because of his position and where he was drafted. Back when Gilmore was drafted it seemed we went DB or RB first round every draft and even if we landed a Revis some people were going to hate the pick. These people fail to realize that CB is a premium position as the modern game is a passing game. You cannot find a Tre'Davious in his prime in free agency.
-
He retired. Fun stat for the day: 100% of people who have ever played football have quit or retired.
-
Do you really think wins is the best way to evaluate CB play and if so, why don't his wins in New England count?
-
How many games did Schobel or Kyle Williams ever win for us?
-
He throws the deep crossing routes and deep improv to the sidelines great. Its the deep vertical routes he has shown a lot of inconsistency hitting on game day. He floated a beautiful over the shoulder pass to Diggs on Sunday which I'm hoping to see more of.

That forum is unreadable and void of anything approaching real football discussion.

What was up with Beasley today?

Since you mention it, if you think going 3/7 in the redzone is good enough then go play intramurals, brother. This is the NFL. 3/7 aint cutting it against the Chiefs. This was the most lackluster 5 score shutout win I have seen in 2 weeks!
