Bills Silver Anniversary Team
Bullpen replied to Chalkie Gerzowski's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I remember going to the games with my dad back in those days and it got to be such a joke that my dad would actually cheer "Attaboy Freddy!!!" as soon as Smerlas got his first off sides of the day. My uncle on the other hand, would be beside himself... "He's lined up directly in front OF THE BALL! How can he lineup or jump off sides!?!?" Good times man, good times. I agree with you on Haslett, he was great, but I'm thinking there's a great number of linebackers in Buffalo's history... Jimmy might not make it. I'll be sorely disappointed if Greg Cater doesn't make it for punter, BTW... -

Nevermind KD, it broke... must have been my weight on there that did it. -

Uh-oh looks like our limb might be creaking and cracking a little... Tigers is down three with three to play. Took an OB on 15 and the followed it up with his "I'm too pissed-off-think-straight" swing and put it pin high. -
I hear you never handle your luggage in the VIP lounge, somebody else carries your bags. You hit white balls for batting practice, the ballparks are like cathedrals, the hotels all have room service, and the women all have long legs and brains. Excellent Pooj, once again we think alike the first thing I thought of was Steve Martin on Saturday Night Live and that skit... Tom Hanks. Classic.

I started writing/editing for base newspapers in the Air Force back in the early 90s (obviously a far cry from the daily grind of major or even small-market newspaper work) they were telling us that withing the next five to seven years most newspapers would end up online. The days of going to the base exchange or chow hall and picking up the paper on friday morning would go the way of hot wax and paste-up. Of course I didn't believe it at the time. Boy was I wrong. (BTW, I can't believe I've been doing this writing/editing/designing gig for almost 16 years now... that means my wife must be getting old?) Now I would venture to say about 80 to 90% of all military newspapers are "paperless" or printed in very limited quantity for the retirees who may not or refuse to read online versions of the paper. BTW James, the mouth-breathers phrase had me laughing out loud!

At leest you halve the official TBD speelling down pat! Your a reel geneyus! Four-plus years and that photos never gets old. Wunder what ol LSI is up to?

Like I said, then perhaps Jim Armstrong or even better Woody Paige will get the Denver HOF vote then...

The thing the Rocky had going for it, was it was a tabloid size paper and lots of readers seemed to like that. I know a few of the writers (professionally speaking) for that paper and it's horrible to see this happen to them. Although, most suspected it was coming and the few that I knew had already started planning an alternative plan. Link to the RMN website: http://www.rockymountainnews.com/news/2009...-final-edition/ Chances are if Legwold doesn't end up at the post, which very well could happen, the HOF vote will go to Jim Armstrong.

Doesn't matter anyway damj, about the time you post enough to get four or five little blue boxes, we'll have another server melt down and you'll drop back down to 83 posts or something like that.

Dear God, when the link first started coming up, it showed that it was a Buffalo News link and I immediately thought to myself... "poor Beerball, another Silver Creek student practicing for the Darwin finals." I guess using gasoline wasn't such a HOT idea after all! -
I'll be the first to admit, I like(d) some crappy bands, but I have to agree with you on this one Matty. Aaaaaaaaaand we have a winner!

Bills Silver Anniversary Team
Bullpen replied to Chalkie Gerzowski's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I was just thinking that myself. Dad had two sets of season tickets at that time, as a consolation prize for my parents divorcing, dad took me to most of the games during the 80s. I remember being at that game and getting two or three copies of the poster... I know I don't have it anymore. I wish I did. I pray that Smerlas isn't on the 50th Anniversary team. Unfortunately THIS is the one poster I still have from my early years as a Bills fan... -
Wow, sorry to hear about this Dante. You're in my thoughts. Attack this with a vengance and strength like you've never shown before. Please keep us updated... peace.

I don't know man... he's just one of those guys that I have no reasonable excuse for disliking him, I just don't. He's up there with Stiller, Jack Black and Sharon Stone. Can't explain it, I'm just wired that way.

... and Buffalo Billdo should be showing up in 3.... 2.... Oh yeah, on topic, Tommy Knocker Ornery Amber Ale the drink du jour. -
He's taking the scope off Beerball. Ol' Roundy took a lot yesterday for his clerical error in noting R. Rich's birthday.

YOU my good man are walking dangerously close to ribbon bully status... I swear Dean as soon as I saw the logo, I started laughing out loud thinking about how much you hate that damn ribbon!
-
Damn him?!?! Complimenting Buffalo, I so badly wanted to continue disliking him for no reason whatsoever!!!

From Mass to West Virgney!?!? Did she really think she was going to get away with this? I mean really? All the way to West damn Virginey and she didn't think the po-po were going to be in hot pursuit!?!?

Jim Calhoun(UConn) vs College Reporter (kid)
Bullpen replied to DrDawkinstein's topic in Off the Wall Archives
I saw this earlier in the day and thought to myself, "atta boy Calhoun" (might be the first time that thought ever entered my mind as G-town fan), this "reporter" took his title a little too seriously and tried to go "1970s-and-80's-Sixty-minutes-Mike-Wallace" on him and he slapped him down. I don't think coaches are above reproach at all, but this was neither the time nor place to ask that question, the reporter was just trying for a cheap "look at me" moment. -
Happy B-day R.Rich!!! Sorry Beerball wasn't on top of things last week!
-
Dean's gonna love this... Not only did they NOT get rid of the ribbon, they made it an integral part of the 50th anniversary logo! Sorry Dean, I have to laugh at that just a bit. Not a big fan of it either... they could have done so much better.
