The only problem I have with any team on that list is Denver. This place is front-runner city! As evidenced by the other three sports teams in this town. Horrible fan base... just horrible. No football knowledge outside of 1998, little to no respect given to any opponent, myopic beyond belief an if the QB ain't Elway you can forget about it. Look how fast they turned on Cutler AND Shanahanahanahan. These fans suck!

Bill Simmons reason for Big Papi's fall off the cliff...
Bullpen replied to Tcali's topic in Off the Wall Archives
You didn't see yesterday's thread did you? Someone used the term 31th. I had to look at it 3 or 4 times to catch what was going on. It's one of those things that just LOOKS wrong, but I couldn't figure out what it was. I'll change it momentarily. BTW, these are NOT necessarily MY opinions on the media, but what I can glean from our esteemed panel here on TBD. -
Bill Simmons reason for Big Papi's fall off the cliff...

Here's the official list as of 7:36 MST 6/3/09 ESPN - bad Bill Simmons - eternally bad (nobody that I know of likes this douchenozzle) Mel Kiper - good CBS Sports - bad see Pete Prisco towards bottom of list Yahoo Sports - bad Mort - bad (he'll never get out of this category... everyone here hates him) Todd McShay - good Don Banks - was bad, but is now good Jim Rome - good (I think, I can't remember, I heard him being spoke of fondly recently) Gregg Easterbrook - good because he has relatives in this area I think? Chris Berman - good (but once he announces someone other than the Bills making the Super Bowl, that will change) Peter King - bad unless he writes something nice about Jim Kelly Colin Cowherd - bad (I forget why, but I know we don't like him right now) Skip Bayless - bad (thinks we should pick up Vick) Tim Graham (waiting for exit poll numbers) John Clayton - good this might be the most shocking development since tht Owens signing Gene Wojciechowski - bad Lori - since she's one of our regulars here, she gets a pass, but only as long as she praises the Bills The Dunkirk Disturber - bad The Tonawanda Snooze - bad both these guys and the Disturber wrote unflattering op-eds about Terrell Owens Pete Prisco - bad, he thinks we'll be luck to make 7-9 and end up 31th overall The Sporting News - good, we like them because they said the Bills are 1 of 5 teams ready to crash the playoff party Any other questions? -
Brandon Marshall won't be suspended again

And the Denver media (so far) acts like it's business as usual. Had this been a Raider, Chief or Charger, they would be howling at the moon tonight about Goodell turning a blind eye. -

What do you expect, he's ESPN's official Boston apologist... notice how he's one of the few columnists that doesn't have a section at the end of his articles for comments from readers? He's that polarizing of a "writer." -

Sooooo, I should make sure Pete Prisco is listed in RED for the official TBD conventional wisdom media list? -

Archie chooses Veronica over Betty
Bullpen replied to \GoBillsInDallas/'s topic in Off the Wall Archives
As has been documented here before, I'm on record as being pro-Veronica. Sexy little minx. I bet she's the dominant one. -
How "big" was he? Like the guy from Blues Traveler big or Dwight Howard big?

Wow... when I was little kid riding around in the car with my dad, he would sing that whenever we passed one on the road. Until now I always thought he made that up.

I saw a trailer for it not too long ago... one of the most riveting scenes features the giant shark leaping out of the water to snag a passenger aircraft out of the air. BEST. SCENE. EVER.

Nice! Glad to see things are looking up. I'm really happy for you. My wife is running the Disney Marathon in January, so her and I along with our son and hers and my parents will all be in FLA right after the new year. In total that will be seven of us for dinner, I'll be sure to identify myself so we all get our meals non-gratis!

He had better HOPE he doesn't make it to prison. Regardless of what most inmates are in for, they seem to have a strong moral compass when it comes to crimes agains children. This poor fugger is gonna have a rough sentence when the corrections officers "turn their backs" for a few minutes.

Why is Vince McMahon and WWE painted as the villian?
Bullpen replied to The Poojer's topic in Off the Wall Archives
... too true. Well after all this, you can bet he and his organization won't be back in Colorado (not just the Pepsi Center) anytime soon. That too, is his mentality put the whole day care center in diapers because one baby shat his pants. I don't have a lot of sympathy for him or the WWE for that matter. -
Why is Vince McMahon and WWE painted as the villian?
Bullpen replied to The Poojer's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Strange, because it was reported out here that that exact deal was in place to happen until the Staples Center and MSG opened up at the 11th hour. So prior to those to venues being available, it sounded like that was a possibility. Like I said, the WWE was in the right on this, but the way McMahon carries himself in his business dealings is childish and unnecessary. Really? Challenging a grown man to a cage match? Really? Using the veiled threat of "you don't want me to get up out of this chair." No class thug, pure and simple. -

Bullpen replied to The Poojer's topic in Off the Wall Archives
In my opinion, McMahon and the WWE were in the right from a business stand point, however, there were things which could have been done to resolve this without all of Vinny Mac's bluster and BS. The WWE was in Loveland (up the road a half hour) Sunday night and here in the Springs Tuesday night. It's not like RAW has never been taped and broadcast the next night. They could have flip-flopped ANY of the three dates. It's the tact that McMahon uses that quite often turns people (this person in particular) off. He confuses his "ring persona" with his "business or main-stream media persona." In a straight interview with Bob Costas a couple years ago he used veiled threats like "you don't want me to get up out of this chair and come over there" or something to that effect. In interviews with ESPN, he loudly called out Nuggets owner Stan Kroenke and challenged him to a steel-cage match. (Is there any other way to resolve a grudge?) I mean c'mon Vince, look we GET that you are in great shape for a 50, nay 60 year old man, but really? You're going to result to the bully mentality? It's not like he's "from tha streets" either. He's a bully plain an simple. Just my opinion on the subject.. -
I think according to Saturday Night Live last week, Harry Carey going to do it to Asian Pete Rose... Harry hates being duped.
