  1. I'm with you on this. But would those same 20 pounds affect Kalil's athleticism?
  2. Key words: in the college ranks. There is a huge step from the PAC-12 to the NFL. I would much rather prefer a guy who doesn't need to put on weight.
  3. I don't think we'd take Kalil. Yes, he is the top tackle, but if case you haven't noticed, an earlier thread on this board pointed out that Buddy is drafting and acquiring bigger OL, and Kalil is 6-6, but only 295. Not to mention that Buddy's draft history is not exactly replete with 1st-round OL.
  4. Buddy has made mention of the depth of the T and WR crops this year, so I'm thinking that Reiff and Floyd won't be our pick.
  5. Nor do I, but they have made some moves so far that have me scratching my head and thinking that they will be drafting before us next year, too.
  6. You're not concerned some other team would take him first?
  7. I don't think he will. I also trust Nix to not draft him.
  8. I agree with you there, but there are quite a few on this board who do not share that sentiment.
  9. Wanny is known to blitz every now and then. Can David do it?
  10. Didn't Buddy say this was a 3-year rebuilding project? If so, then, yes, this draft will define his regime. The expectations this year, especially after our FA signings, are much higher than they have been in over a decade.
  11. Because they have friends in Congress, who haven't legalized marijuana yet.
  12. So, is he a better fit for the defense than Wagner?
  13. The first thing that needs to happen is to determine who is in the 10-20 range. I can think of only 6 players this year who are guaranteed to be gone before our pick: Luck, RG3, Kalil, Richardson, Claiborne, and Blackmon.
  14. Yet, you know that it will happen. What I think a lot of people don't realize is that there is a number of people that can impact for us, not just one player.
  15. Isn't a question of how each team rates the players? Just because a scouting service or a draftnik has his/her board set in a certain order doesn't mean that the teams will have done so the same way.
  16. I read somewhere about the Patriots trading both of their 1st-rounders for our #10. Would you be interested?
  17. The post-pick conversation will be equally interesting.
  18. Didn't Buddy mention something about bigger CBs?
  19. Yet Thigpen had a really good year under Chan in KC and credits David Lee with helping him improve in Miami. I'm of the opinion we should give him this season to show us something, and, if he doesn't, then we go looking to replace him.
  20. I must agree with you on this one. If he was available when our turn came up, I could see some trade offers being phoned into Orchard Park.
  21. If we don't draft Kuechly in the 1st, either David or Wagner are attractive options in the 2nd.
  22. It takes more than that to be an NFL QB...Ryan Leaf, Jamarcus Russell, and Jeff George come to mind.
  23. It is, but less so if you do your homework and have good coaching.
