Our guys need to prove themselves on the field. That being said, I don't count what has happened during this preseason as a true indication of how our guys will play this year.
But if they relase McGee, that will leave a sizeable chunk more cap space we can roll over into next year, with Byrd, Levitre, Urbik, et al, needing new contracts.
Now that I think about it, Chan also said that he doesn't think the knee injury would contribute to his release, but he didn't say anything about the long TD pass he gave up.
I can't believe that anybody on this board would think that Wanny would tip his hand in the 1st preseason game. We will not see his real defense until the Jets game.
I'm not saying we're going to dump Fitz after this season, but I hope we don't pin our hopes on a rookie next year. We don't have the talent level at other positions to carry a rookie QB into the playoffs.
There wasn't a whole lot of negative to RG3's night, but can you imagine the heat King would take if he wrote anything about the NFL's most celebrated draft pick? I really think he's getting more attention than Luck.
I'm not overly concerned yet because of our history of going totally vanilla in preseason, and the fact that we had 2 OL starters out. I just want to see us cut down on the mistakes in the next game.
Coach probably wants them to get as many reps as possible with which to base his cuts.
