  1. In my 1st post, I explain my thinking behind the move, so there is some logic to it. You may not agree, but there is some logic behind doing it. Please don't dismiss my thoughts as nothing. You're right, bpa is subjective (I said as much in my post) and a matter of opinion. I think you're missing the part about this being what I would do. Not the Bills or you. If someone grades out as the next Barry Sanders and he falls to you at #10, you take him. Or you're fired. Jmo. The draft is for more than the next 2 yrs. Most any player drafted won't be a starter week 1 and in a lot of cases, year 1. A safety, cb, wr,ot,etc will have a learning curve also. I stick with my stance, Cook at 10, if he's there. 1 Yr under McCoy, drop McCoy and his contract after next season. Even worse than Cook as a #10 pick is what we're paying McCoy. A vet safety to help, he would probably do better than a rookie in his 1st yr. Just about anyone taken would have a learning curve and where's the value in that? We reached for Lawson and it sounds like you all want to reach on a player because he's a need. I'll say it again BPA. And if it shakes out the way I think, Dalvin is the pick (imo), unless Watson falls to us. Williams was a 5th round pick for a reason and MG is a backup for a reason.
  2. I stopped at "They are in the playoffs ". That's something we should aspire to achieve. Weak division? Who cares? They're in. I've heard talks of Houston letting the HC go. I'll take him. He won't use injuries as an excuse, though he lost the best defensive player in the league and his qb is worse than ours. Right Rex?!
  3. I would imagine Parker isn't paramount in the op's life and he was unaware he died. I knew he died, but continued reading. Parker isn't a world famous person, oops, wasn't. Op can be forgiven for not knowing Parker croked.
  4. Football isn't life, Life isn't football. Dopey
  5. Let's start with saying Imo Cook is the best rb in the drat. So your statement about not being the best rb in the draft doesn't fit my narrative. Secondly, to answer your simple question with a simple answer, yes. As mentioned in my post, it's bpa and if he drops to us at 10, Imo take him. Coach, please remember this is all subjective. No one is absolutely right, even you, coach. Edit: if D. Watson is there, I take him. Otherwise, Cook, if he's there.
  6. Going with BPA, if somehow Dalvin Cook falls to 10, we should take him. Haven't looked at the contract specifics but McCoy can play next year for us and be released after the season. Re-sign Gilleslie and we have Johnathan Williams. Dalvin will be a heck of a RB for the next 6-8 yrs and he'll be on a rookie contract for the 1st few years, so we can afford to have him behind McCoy for a year. McCoy makes too much money for my liking. I know we need a safety and WR, but to me if Dalvin falls to us at 10, he is the BPA at the time. DB and WR in rounds 2-3, although to me we have the talent to go with BPA in every round. There isn't an area where we don't need at least one player. If a OT falls to us in the 2nd, take him and plug him in at RT. A guard/center falls to us at 3rd, take him, Cogs. isn't a spring chicken. DT falls to us in Round 2, take him( KW is older) , etc. Take BPA and don't reach! Anyone remember Erik Flowers, or John McCargo and the Whitner reaches? Again, I think we have enough talent to go BPA and not reach.
  7. Like the slump breaker ugly chicken baseball players talk about.
  8. This reminds me of the Andy Ried argument we have here. As I said in that argument, give me Reid any day over the past 17 seasons. I wanna enjoy watching this team and making the playoffs is enjoyable(from what I remember). Do I want a championship type team? Sure, but I would love to start out by breaking the string of 17 yrs. We can do both. The G men made an improbable run when they barely made the playoffs in Manning's 1st SB. You gotta be in it to win it.
  9. 4-3 4-3 4-3 Our defense is still better suited to play 4-3. 3/4 of our dline is set and that's where our money is for the next few years. We need safety help and a cb if we switch or not. But by going to a 4-3,we go back to fitting a square peg in a square hole. As opposed to Rex trying to fit that same square peg in a round hole. We are still not even close to having 3-4 personnel. Jmo.
  10. Hey guys (and girls), this site is an awsome place for Bills fans to congregated and share our feelings/opinions on our beloved Bills. Some folks get pissed at others and even the occasional name calling happens. Having said all of this, I want to wish all of you a Happy and SAFE New Year's Eve!!! Enjoy yourself, but make sure you don't drink and drive.I wanna be able to see the same names here next year (tomorrow) to discuss our team. Name calling and all.
  11. Yea, who the hell wants to coach in the nfl. We'll have plenty of suitors for an nfl coaching job. Pegs is obviously not a penny pincher when it comes to paying coaches. That was our biggest problem when Ralph owned the franchise, he went cheap in that area and for the most part it showed. Wondering that too.
  12. I may be wrong, but if TT gets hurt we owe him the whole contract(at least next year?) and lose the ability to renegotiate a newer team friendly contract. If he is willing to negotiate a new deal. One more thing: Who cares? The game doesn't mean a damn thing, except draft position. I think I can find something better to do for those 3-4 hrs. this Sunday.
  13. Whoo hoo, he's gone! and so is his twin! I still wanna know if Rob's having a boy or girl. Then again, twins run in the family, he looks like he could be having twins. Glad we didn't get CONTINUITY, as some here wanted. It would have been the same old ****. Merry Christmas to all that wanted him gone. To the rest, welcome aboard and Merry Christmas to you too.
  14. That would be a big fat (no pun intended )NO!!!!
  15. Have you watched our coach's performance in the playoffs! ? Oh,wait...I would love to be in the position to complain about a playoff loss or 2 or 3. Gotta crawl before you run.
  16. I haven't looked hard enough, but I hope the folks that don't want Andy, are the same who want another year with Bozo the clown and his pregnant twin. Andy doesn't win enough in the playoffs. Hey guys, help me out here, I forget what the word playoffs even mean anymore. It's been so long. I'll take Andy in a heartbeat. I would even give up a 1st round pick for a coach like him. You gotta get to the playoffs first. With Rex we are still another 3-4 yrs away. He's not even close to being done with rebuilding the defense to fit his scheme. Pretty sure Andy would know what to do with a defense that has kw,md,jh, and Lawson on the front 4. Andy would make this team soooooo much better just getting off of the plane.
  17. Since I can't choose Rex, then Rob.
  18. Assuming Rex thinks that far ahead.
  19. I say keep looking for a better option at rt and try signing CK as a backup. I don't think the oline was that big of a problem to change 2 positions to try and fix 1. Jmo
  20. Back atcha, and everyone else on board. Yea, you too, Ryan bros.
  21. I was one who wanted to believe. I just thought we would be a little undeciplined, not totally discombobulated.
  22. Injuries are definitely an issue, but I can't get over what the eye test reveals to me. It's week 16 of year 2 and 3 times we had 10 guys on the field. Yep, 3 times. I believe all led to big plays. I love the way the Steelers are coached. That's another team I see as having to deal with injuries. They play sound football despite using subs. I know they have Ben and that helps, but I'm talking defense. There is no reason for this defense to look this confused after this much time under rex except for, well Rex. I guess I can understand if he gets another year, but I don't think he's come close to showing he's a good coach. No structure, no discipline, no game management, etc.#timetogorexandroband...
  23. Just spit out my fireball on that one. Funny.
  24. You might want to compare the two, but they are totally different scenarios. At least that player you reference is out there to make a play, good or bad. Plus 10 on d is a lot worse than 10 on the o. Two years with this d with players still running in late and lining up only 10 players. How dare you even put ass clown Rex and bill in the same sentence?
