  1. My post said guys were open and missed in the first couple of series. That's not playing close to the vest. That's lack of executing when the plays present themselves. Dabol can't throw and catch the ball too.
  2. In the last 3 games Allen has missed on big plays to wide open players in the 1st couple of drives. Philosophy is fine, Dabol is fine. We need better execution when the plays present themselves. And they have early in games lately.
  3. Star played a decent game, he didn't get trucked by a rb or whiff on tackles like Milano tonight. Over reaction Monday a couple of days early.
  4. That td drive started by a good kick return. That's why you don't mess with special teams for Duke.
  5. Yep, we're really missing that pro bowl receiver.
  6. Josh is my QB, but he needs to take advantage of the few opportunities he gets.
  7. The guy couldn't beat Zay for a roster spot. He was brought up only cuz we were working on trading Zay. He had 1 ok game. Film on that 1 game must have shown something to other teams cuz he did nothing from that point on. He took Zay's spot and couldn't keep it. Stop saying he didn't get a chance when he was activated, played in games and he's been practicing with the team as part of the 53 man roster since week 5. Think about it, he couldn't beat Zay for a spot. Zay was traded and Duke still couldn't keep Zay's spot. Maybe it's the things you aren't seeing that coaches see in practice that's keeping him on the bench. There were wrs on the eskimos with better catch %s than Duke. The weird part to some of us is the lack of trust for the staff. 2 playoff appearances in 3 years after such a long time out, a chance at the division still AND people still act like our staff is not as smart as they are.
  8. I can yell about the 7 attempts, you're right. I can also state that in 2 years in the CFL, he was targeted 235 times and 101 of those attempts fell incomplete. He had the worst % of catches per attempt on his team in his time up there. Can't blame the qb on all of those if Duke can go get contested balls or catches anything in his area. Couldn't find stats on drops for the CFL. I'm assuming of those 101 incompletions, some were drops, some were contested and some were in his huge catch radius. They just don't show up on highlight videos posted here. In previous threads, highlight videos of Duke have been posted. I wanna see the video of all those incomplete passes. 101 incomplete vs CFL DB's, with a running start before the snap. In addition to that, coach McD and Dabol see him a lot more than us. He got his chance and his best effort resulted in 4 catches for 29 yds. I know, I know, that TD. Yes, keeping our special teams together is more important than calling him up. The coaching staff that has us in the playoffs 2 out of 3 years agrees and that is good enough for me.
  9. Terrific mindset. Keep working at it. If not called upon, it won't be due to lack of effort. He seems to be taking it better than some here at TBD.
  10. Clarity?! He's been inactive and not showing up on the injury reports. It can't get much clearer. 90% on 7 attempts, in 118 snaps. He was thrown to 7 times in 118 snaps! Maybe he's not able to get open enough to tale a roster spot.
  11. I'm guessing you've seen a highlight video or 2 of of Duke in the CFL where he's making all these remarkable catches. Other than preseason games or the Tennessee game where he caught 4 passes for 29 yds, he doesn't have much to show in the NFL. I know, I know he caught a TD pass vs. Tennessee. I was really curious to know, is he really catching everything thrown his way throughout his CFL career? I couldn't find CFL stats for drops, so I looked at the following CFL stats: Duke 2017: 83 attempts and 46 receptions. 37 attempts not completed 2018: 152 attempts and 88 receptions. 64 attempts not completed That turns out to be 235 attempts and 134 receptions. There were 101 pass attempts to Duke in 2 years that were not completed. I'm gonna assume this was not all on the QB. Some had to be drops, some had to be Duke not catching everything within a certain radius, some had to be Duke not catching a contested pass. Sure some have to be attributed to the QB as well, but that's a lot of incomplete attempts to blame on his QB when his teammates had better catch %'s during the same time frame. The guys below combined for 227 attempts and 72 attempts not completed in the same time frame, same team as Duke. I chose those 2 as they were closest to Duke in attempts. That's almost 30 less incomplete attempts on only 8 more pass attempts. You can go down the roster and choose any combination and still see the same thing. These 2 no name players had better catch % based on attempts, from the same QB as Duke caught from. This is in the CFL, with a running start and sub par DB's compared to the NFL. I would be curious to see any CFL stats on drops, if anyone can find them. Also, curious how much footage there would be if a video were made of his drops or attempts where he DIDN'T make the contested catch. That's a lot of attempts left on the field, in the CFL. He's just not good enough to take over a starting roster spot in Buffalo. Brandon Zylstra 2017: 132 attempts and 100 receptions. 32 attempts not completed 2018: Kenny Stafford -Zylstra wasn't listed in 2018 95 attempts and 55 receptions. 40 attempts not completed
  12. As an FSU fan, I follow Winston and watch a few of the Bucs game down here. He was a turnover machine at FSU and still doing it in the pros. Earlier this season, his coach told reporters after the game the WR's were at fault for the Int's in that particular game. Basically blamed the WR's, not Winston. He's smart as hell when it comes to football. There were cases where Jimbo Fisher would yell at him on the sidelines after a play, only to apologize after watching the film. I believe he's playing on his option year of the rookie contract. I think they franchise him next year and give it another go. Tampa needs defense in the worst way. Even when he doesn't turn it over, they have to score a ton because they can't stop anyone. They also need to get a running game going. Winston excels when he play action at his disposal.
