Playoff #1 PreGame Thread. Bills @ Texans
HerdMenatlity1 replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I read Foster has a foot issue. Will Duke take his spot? When do we know the active roster ? -
Gonna say something here while trying not to single anyone out. Jackson is doing some amazing things on the field this year, no doubt. So is Wilson. Total yds: Wilson 4452 pass 4110 rush 342 Jackson 4333 pass 3127 rush 1206 Total tds Wilson 34 31 passing 4 rushing Jackson 43 36 passing 7 rushing Total Turnovers Wilson 7 Jackson 8 Rating Wilson 106.3 Jackson 113.3 Wilson has more total yds, less turnovers and had to pull rabbits out of his hat to get the Hawks where they are. And they had to sign Beast Mode due to losing 3 rbs this year to injury. Anyone calling Polian out as mad cuz he was wrong about Jackson is reaching. Is there a legitimate case for Lamar? Sure. Same could be said for Russell. Polian is not off base here. I would have voted for Russell.

Dolphins hire Chan Gailey as OC
HerdMenatlity1 replied to FluffHead's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I've had to eat my words a few times. I have fun on TBD. I do think we improve next year if Daboll stays. 25-27 points per game next year. -

Daboll isn't getting respect from some on this board. Do you think he cares? You're just a fan, like the rest of us. I hope Daboll is back next year and some of you are eating your words. -
If Josh hits 2 long passes vs. Baltimore we have 14 more points and probably win. Against on hell of a defense. If Josh hits 2 wide open passes in the 1st NE game, we score 14 more points and win that game. Those were deep, wide open plays. Daboll called those plays, Josh missed on them. Some of you seem to see any play that doesn't get converted as a bad play call. If that's the case, all OC's suck.

There was a thread just before the season started asking what were our expectations of Josh. He's pretty spot on what most here expected. Because we had 9 new starters on offense, most were realistic in not expecting "leaps and bounds" better, but better. Your argument was about his 2nd half demise. I thought he played well in the 2nd half, considering the top defenses we played. And I'm not just looking at stats. That doesn't tell the whole story. Daboll hasn't shown you anything to give you hope, ok. I see it different. Add a couple of pieces to our offense and we're going to score plenty of points next year.

You can argue that, but it's not very convincing. To Gary Busey's point, Allen has progressed from last year. Quite a bit. It's pretty obvious in watching him play this year. If you can't see the difference, not sure what to say. As for the 2nd half, his play in the 2nd half of this season helped us to the playoffs. Josh cut his turnovers down in the 2nd half of this season. He didn't do that on his own. Dabol had a hand in that. The 2nd half of this season is where we played 5 games in a row vs. top 11 defenses. His numbers were not going to blow up playing that 2nd half schedule. I'm happy with the work Dabol is doing with Allen, along with a new oline, all new wrs, all new te's and all new rbs. Not sure how you don't see that.

Pick 3 FA's you'd like to see targeted.
HerdMenatlity1 replied to GreggTX's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I like our core and would take a conservative approach. Limit our "splash" signings and build quality depth to what we already have through FA. WR-Robby Anderson. I like his game. He's 6'3" with good speed and has played well, considering the Jets are a mess. He would be a great compliment to Brown and Cole. Don't think he would be very expensive. I would also draft a WR. RB- Melvin Gordon wants too much $ and I don't see Arizona letting Kenyon Drake leave. I wait for someone to be let go from other teams. Maybe Arizona let's Davis Johnson go or trade him. If so, I go after him. I would even entertain Adrian Peterson, if the Skins let him go. I would also draft a RB. Singletary along with Johnson or Peterson would work out nicely. OLB- I like Jamie Collins from NE. He may be considered a "splash" signing. 7 sacks, 3 ints and 3 forced fumbles and a defensive TD. He would solidify our LB corp. Also draft a LB for depth. If we can't get Collins, I would go after Van Noy at DE. -
In honor of oldschoolfootball1963 I want to say AJ Brown reminds me of Duke Williams.

Disputed -St. Doug to be fired after the season
HerdMenatlity1 replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I know I defended the move, but not because he got run out of town. He hated Whaley and vice versa. He got $4 million to leave and took a job in Fl. Ended up being the HC and even took them to a deep playoff run. Got a nice extension on his contract. I don't think he would change a thing. He likes Pegula and he did acknowledge not liking the way he left. Never said he was sorry he left. Big difference. Don't understand why folks are still sensitive to this. -

Not sure why the KB thing is so perplexing: 2013 at FSU 54 rec. 1011 yds and 15 tds and he caught the game winning TD vs Auburn in the closing seconds of the College Championship game. 2014 w Carolina as a rookie 73 rec. 1008 yds and 9 tds 50 of those receptions went for 1st downs 2015 Injured 2016 63 rec. 941 yds and 7 tds again 50 of those receptions went for 1st downs 2017 1st 8 games w Carolina 32 rec. 475 yds and 2 tds 21 of those receptions for 1st downs, on a similar pace to the previous year. traded to the Bills for a 3rd and 7th 16 rec 217 yds and 1 td only with Peterman and Taylor at QB. 2018 was a disaster. I would give the reason for this as having a combination of Peterman, Anderson, Barkely and then Josh as a rookie. No oline to speak of and no TEs either. My understanding was KB was let go because we were very slow at WR and wanted to infuse some speed (Foster and Zay). The mistake I see, is we weren't at a point in the "process" where someone like him was needed, unless we felt he was someone to build off of. I don't think we were and that was the mistake. I am using hindsight here though. At the time we traded for him, Kelvin was worth a shot for a 3rd and a 7th. Sometimes the timing has to be right and it wasn't. Again, using hindsight. All of that to say, I agree with you in trusting the staff on why Duke isn't playing. I also agree with playing him this weekend.

The reason I hate the NFC East is our Super Bowl Losses were: Giants Skins Boys Boys Dream scenario: Bills vs Eagles in this year's Super Bowl and we FINALLY win it, against an NFC East team. One can hope. -

Me and my wife were at our house (west side) with a bottle of champagne ready to be popped, along with the biggest doobie I could roll. When the kick was missed, we immediately looked at each other and said "we'll be back". We ended up going outside and hanging out with what seemed to be the whole neighborhood, partying til 3 am. Everyone out there had the same mindset of "we'll be back next year". Little did we know... Yes, the bottle of champagne was popped and the doobie was shared. Thinking back, it was actually a good night. -
If Patriots are cheating, what are the possibilities?
HerdMenatlity1 replied to finn's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I like to think I'm not a conspiracy theorist and tried to stay away from this thread, BUT I did watch the last game again and something really caught my eye. If you watch our last drive, the officials had the timekeeper put time back on the clock after an incomplete pass. Somehow the clock kept running after an incomplete pass. As our final drive continues, Allen misses Knox in the corner of the end zone. Another incomplete pass. I believe there was 3:33 left in the clock. This time the timekeeper stops the clock as it should be. I kept my eye on the clock and noticed something. We come up to the line of scrimmage with 3:33 still on the clock, as it should be. We call timeout without running a play. After getting the timeout Josh heads to the sidelines and the clock starts running! As the broadcast goes to commercial, there is now 3:23 on the clock. Amazing! Back from commercials, and the clock correctly shows 3:33. Wonder who noticed this and made the correction? Coach, or an official. Here's the thing, it's my understanding the game clock is handled by a non Patriot employee brought in by the NFL. I didn't go back to watch the clock on other drives, but this was a drive to tie or win the game and these shenanigans somehow happen?!? By someone brought in by the NFL!?!? Things that make you go hmm.
