HerdMenatlity1 replied to Brennan Huff's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So, we had a pool party yesterday for the fsu football game (screw you FSU) and smoked ribs, wings, pulled pork and mac & cheese (yes smoked). Leftovers today. Less cooking and easy cleanup. HAPPY FOOTBALL SUNDAY! -

Duke should definitely be part of the WR's this year
HerdMenatlity1 replied to LB48's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It wasn't just the one drop. Check him out with a minute left in the playoff game. For his career(including Canada), something like 50% of the passes thrown his way were incomplete. Not all his fault, but close to 50% ? -

I said it last year, and we picked the wrong wr to bring in. Duke's teammate had better numbers in Canada. Can't remember his name. Some really nice people here still rooting for Duke. I get it, but Duke is 27 yrs old and isn't going to get much better. I wish him well. Maybe go back north. Oh, they cancelled the season. -

Newton vs Allen and Pats vs Bills
HerdMenatlity1 replied to Inigo Montoya's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
A 2nd yr rb who drops to many passes, only scored two tds last year and missed 4 games. Plus a rookie, Taiwan Jones and a rugby player. Oh, wait, we have TJ Yeldon. Gotcha. -
Dolphins expected to go with Fitzpatrick as the starter
HerdMenatlity1 replied to Greg S's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
A rookie QB coming off of major surgery doesn't start over a veteran and he's a bust!?! And at Mach 2, no less!?!? Can you be taken seriously? Fitz will start, and he should. I answered a poll a while ago regarding the best QB in the division. I picked Fitz for the same reasons C.biscuit97 laid out here. Doesn't mean that's what we wish for. -

We're just gonna give the trophy and $ to whoever has the most points if the season is over early. -

Did you really give yourself a thumbs up!? I love Denzel, but he grew up with with both parents in the household. He was lucky to have a dad in his life til the age of 14. He also was sent to a military school after his parents divorced. Quote from Wikipedia (I know, I know, Wikipedia) Washington later said, "That decision changed my life, because I wouldn't have survived in the direction I was going. The guys I was hanging out with at the time, my running buddies, have now done maybe 40 years combined in the penitentiary. They were nice guys, but the streets got them." He had structure in his life. He had it made compared to the folks I'm talking about in my initial post. He makes a valid point, but had hope growing up in his situation while others felt helpless without that kind of life as a kid. Maybe you should hear from someone who grew up in the ghetto without a father and the feeling of being helpless. Point being, I don't think he can speak to the situation as well as someone who didn't have both parents guiding him. ? -

My uncle had a DUI on his record. That's it. He had gone through all the requirements to get his drivers license back. Judge said "you are ruining people's lives with this crap". He wasn't selling, he was a user. He was hurting his family, no doubt, but he was treated like a dealer who is was selling tons of drugs. Never sold in his life, just a user. He got out 12 years ago and is doing ok. Hard for a felon to find work, but he's not too proud to work as a janitor. Don't know the other guys record though. Fair point. But probation for an oz of coke, not weed. Seems light to me. -

It's hard for fathers to be included when black men get 10-20 yrs for 15$ worth of crack and a white man gets probation for an oz. of coke(I've seen it done). Black men and men of color in general don't get the benefit from the legal system unless they have a ton of $ for attorney fees(OJ). That leads to too many men of color in prison and not at home. It's systematic. It sucks that I feel lucky to be a light skinned Puerto Rican vs family members who are as dark as night. Just my thoughts on the bold part of your post. -

As a registered Dem., I still voted for him. Andrew Gilliam was a joke of a candidate. I hoped for the best. Surprisingly, I like most of what he's done so far. From fighting for the use of smokable pot to getting rid of some ridiculous licence requirements for certain occupations. Ex. It was difficult to get a license just to braid hair. He helped food truck vendors keep their businesses when brick and mortar restaurants tried to limit their areas of business. Also one of the few Republicans who provided raises to state employees. This, though is too serious a matter for him to follow trump's "lead". You're are right to wait to see what options we have, but this is too big of a deal to forget his bumbling of this situation. The " we have more positive tests cuz we're testing more" line just sticks in my craw. That's too trump-like for me. He really can't believe that comment makes sense. I hope.
