  1. First of all, you shouldn't use raw snap counts because they vary game to game. He's played ~80% of snaps his entire career and even in Buffalo before his injury he was around 65-70%. Yes, even with our rotation, starting players get more snaps and when we signed him he actually was a starter. Since his injury he's been in the 30% range - that's called being a backup. That's right, AJ and Groot out-snap him 2-1. He comes on the field for obvious passing downs i.e. snaps where he should get pressures and sacks. Second, there's 3 weeks left in the season and he has 4 sacks. PFF stats and blog articles aren't enough to spin that into a positive. They're not "managing" anything, he's a backup. People said the same thing for last year's playoffs and nothing changed. In the 25 games since his injury he's hit that number once. What, besides wishful thinking, makes you expect that?
  2. This thread is a great example of spiking the football too early. We didn't give him $100M to stuff the run, we paid him to get to the QB. We're approaching Christmas and he has 4 sacks. No, the doubters have been 100% correct (the entire premise that they were wrong after 1 game was ludicrous to begin with). He can still make a difference in the playoffs, and who knows maybe he will, but based on his performance this season that's wishful thinking.
  3. holy crap what a throw
  4. Chargers D is looking rough.
  5. Ran right through them.
  6. Rodgers and Johnson spoke on Oct. 7, just after the Jets lost to the Vikings in London to drop to 2-3, a game behind the Bills in the AFC East with Buffalo coming to MetLife Stadium the following Monday night. According to a team source, Rodgers implored Johnson to remain patient. The following morning, Saleh called Rodgers to let him know he was demoting Hackett and installing passing game coordinator Todd Downing as the new play caller. Rodgers made it clear to Saleh that he did not agree with the decision — so much so that Saleh told his staff to get backup Tyrod Taylor ready to play in case a banged-up, disgruntled Rodgers wouldn’t, according to a team source. Shortly afterward, around 10 a.m. ET, Woody and Christopher Johnson, Woody’s brother and the Jets’ vice chairman, walked into Saleh’s office. Woody told Saleh he was fired. Saleh asked why. Woody told him he didn’t think Saleh could turn the season around and that the team needed a spark. Then the Johnsons walked out of the room.
  7. I also learned he named his son "Brick" and takes advice from him.
  8. That article is bonkers. They have to be sourcing Joe ("one team executive")Douglas, right? Did he get drunk or maybe he just never wants to work in the NFL again?
  9. Love how John Mara is front and center complaining. “To flex a game back to Thursday night, to me, is just abusive,” Mara told reporters then. He added: “At some point, can we please give some consideration to the people who are coming to our games? People make plans to go to these games weeks and months in advance. And 15 days ahead of time to say, ‘Sorry, folks, that game you were planning on taking your kids to Sunday at 1, now it’s on Thursday night.’ What are we thinking about?” Yeah guess what buddy, you voted for that Amazon deal. You voted for that Peacock deal. You're pockets are packed. Spare me your factitious outrage.
  10. "The solution is within this room." - Terry Pegula 12/16/2024
  11. Down 0-2 in the 1st period to the worst team in the conference. Even a sadist couldn't watch this. In 2 hours they get to actually wear the title of worst team in the conference pacing for 67 pts. Adams said he'd go to war with these guys, well that feeling certainly isn't mutual.
  12. "If they can score here they got a chance" No Joe, they don't.
  13. It's bizarre because he's 11/18 which doesn't look bad on paper, unless you are watching the game and noticed those incompletions were to guys wide open.
  14. Caleb Williams needs to run more, because he can't hit the broadside of a barn throwing.
  15. They suspended him, which is far worse. He can't sign with another team, loses his last 3 game checks, and opens up legal action against him to recoup some of his signing bonus. His locker is already cleaned out and he will never enter the stadium again.
  16. Adams obviously has to go. He's out of answers and can't be trusted to make moves before the trade deadline. And Pegula has to get some balls and hire someone with experience from outside the organization to be President of Hockey Ops. to hire the next GM. If he fires Adams just to promote his buddy Forton as GM, who will eventually hire his other buddy Appert as coach, well, then we're just running in circles here. Adams should be canned and then slap the interim GM label on Karmanos. Hire someone like Rey Shero to be president, he's got a great resume and is being lauded for the recent advisory work he's been doing with Minnesota. Get someone with that type of experience in here ASAP so they can see first-hand what's happening here for the rest of this season, then let that person hire the next GM.
  17. Didn't see any comments after the week 5 Houston game in a dome. "Half his games are a coin flip." Clown takes.
  18. If McD did that there would be a dozen threads about it. Thanks for the 7 points, Danny.
  19. Building a dome with a 50-yr lifespan for 1 guy who will play 1/5th of that is the definition of short-sighted.
  20. Yeah their offense has been very mediocre this season, especially compared to years past. Anyways, we'll get to see this theory tomorrow.
  21. To be fair that tactic looks like it worked with Tage's contract, but he's essentially gambling a lot of money on kids.
  22. Maybe Adams should wait until a player actually earns a big contract before just handing them out like candy. He gave Cozens a 7yr $50M contract at the age of 21 with less than 2 yrs in the NHL. He gave Power an 8yr $58M contract at the age of 20 with 1 yr in the NHL. He gave Samuelsson a 7yr $30M contract after 54 (!!!!) games. That's a lot of money on unproven kids barely old enough to legally drink.
  23. Float around for 50 minutes, play hard for the last 10. Man Ruff looks pissed, he had no idea how heartless this team is. I wonder if he'll pull a Vonte Davis this year and just retire after the 1st period, never to be seen again.
  24. The #1 seed gets a bye. You only have to win 2 home games to get the the SB. It's an insane advantage.
  25. McVay was under fire his first few years for numerous clock management mistakes. It came to head a year ago when it cost them a chance at a comeback drive in the playoffs. Since then he hired an assistant coach who specializes in clock management and timeout usage, so they do exist (and that guy had to be laughing his ass off last weekend). The biggest hurdle seems to be coaches that can't put their egos aside.
