  1. If we built a $3B domed stadium in the heart of downtown Buffalo we still wouldn't get a Superbowl. It's not about the dome. It's not about the location. It's really not even about the hotel space. Nobody wants to be in Buffalo in the middle of f*cking February. How hard is that to understand? Yes, let's have hundreds of reporters from around the world trapped in their rooms during a -10 degree whiteout reporting on....on....nothing? Buffalo is not nearly as bad as it's portrayed in the media, but it really doesn't shine in January/February. And that's being polite.
  2. I believe hallucinogenic drugs are fine, as long as he doesn't open up FanDuel on his phone and start betting.
  3. Let's just say his HOF enshrinement won't be based on his 9/11 conspiracy theories.
  4. Can you tell us whether there was alcohol involved when you made this post?
  5. It's a lot easier than apologizing or actually admitting they made a mistake. In some twisted way it also allows them to believe that they are still standing on some moral high ground.
  6. The woman’s attorney, Dan Gilleon, said he had not see the lawsuit yet “and we don’t litigate in the media.” This guy's a real piece of work 😂
  7. Not only do running QB's not last, I'll take it further and state that even running backs do not last. Running in today's NFL is a ticket to early retirement. Jackson, Fields, and Hurts will all miss some games this year and it won't even be the least bit surprising to people that understand this (Although I think most do understand this and many just need a "comfort thread").
  8. Agreed, there's a lot of potential for profits in shipping now compared to 30 years ago. Someone posted in this thread that they actually turned a profit last year.
  9. The Post Office is more of a public service than a business. Nobody goes around saying the military loses $750B a year.
  10. Giants have 15 WRs right now. He's camp fodder.
  11. Actually they are. Except it's in Las Vegas.
  12. Also it's not really the age, it's the mileage. Fred Jackson was effective into his 30's because he didn't get a full NFL workload until he was 27/28. I guess these poor RB's are just going to have to start clipping Beefaroni coupons out of the Sunday paper.
  13. That farewell statement seemed terse. Maybe they got into a fistfight?
  14. It was a more than just Elliott. Todd Gurley's 4yr/$60M deal blew up in their faces. Kamara's 4TD season last year certainly isn't why they gave him 5yr/$75M. Listening to Jets fans crow about getting Le'Veon Bell for $50M and watching him instantly crash and burn was funny. Carolina gave CMC $65M and he wound up playing like 2 games that year. I believe next year he missed half the season and ultimately they cut bait. There's more I'm missing I'm sure.
  15. I know the RB's are mad, but SharpFootball and Matt Miller are completely correct (I've been saying it for years too, Matt). After 5+ years in the NFL RB's start breaking down and can't stay on the field, and when you pay an aging star RB top dollar, you typically can't afford to spend resources (draft picks or money) on quality backups at the position. It's the unfortunate reality of today's game. It's a much shrewder move to go bargain shopping for 2-3 cheap upper-tier RB's and invest that money saved into some road-grading offensive linemen. Now you have redundancy in case an RB goes down and an improved OL that can not only open holes but protect your QB.
  16. I could win a lot of money betting Sabres' fans that they didn't know who their ECHL team was. Actually, no, I couldn't. They would ask what the hell is the ECHL.
  17. Don't feel sorry for Gruden, the settlement for the remainder of his $100M contract will ensure he also gets to go on his merry way.
  18. No idea if it's the best but a few years ago we were in St Louis and went to a place called Sugarfire Smoke House. Damn good BBQ everyone we were with raved about it. It's downtown walking distance to hotels and the convention center. Cafeteria style serve and sit and the place was packed, they close whenever they run out of meat for the day.
  19. This is where I'm at. I think a lot of fans are tired of going into season after season of wishful thinking and hope at the most important position on the ice. Unfortunately the time window to make a move that would fit our plans appears to have closed. Gibson has too much term and money for what he's worth and Hellebuyck is a pipe-dream. And it's not the defense. We watched a 41-year old goalie on his last legs put up decent numbers behind the same defense that UPL and Comrie floundered with. Nobody was complaining about the defense during those late season Levi starts. Speaking of which, a lot of people have Levi already penciled in for 50-55 starts with his stats being a direct projection of his 7-game sample size. If that happens, well sure everything is all good -- but that's a lot to ask from a rookie. If he falters or god-forbid gets hurt, this season will wind up ranking very high on the Sabres Disappointment List.
  20. That's really what makes this so laughable. You can't have boomers creating laws regulating technology because they don't understand technology past pushing the power button and then yelling on social media.
  21. ok you want to play GPT-4 "It seems like you have strong opinions about Linus Ullmark's departure from the Buffalo Sabres and his decision to sign with the Boston Bruins. It's not uncommon for players to make choices based on various factors, including their personal and professional goals, financial considerations, and team dynamics. While loyalty to a team is valued by fans, it's important to remember that players have their own career paths to consider. The decisions made by the Buffalo Sabres' management are based on various factors, including team chemistry, financial considerations, and long-term planning. It's understandable that you may have strong feelings about the situation, but it's important to express opinions respectfully and avoid personal attacks. Every fan is entitled to their own preferences and opinions about sports teams. If you have any other topics or questions you'd like to discuss, feel free to let me know!"
  22. ...annnnnnnddddddd here come the loons.
  23. It's a) not downtown and b) not a dome, so the same group of people will be whining for decades.

    Matt Araiza

Yeah, the fame, money and prestige of a college punter 😂 He wasn't prosecuted because the girl and her attorney are full of sh*t.
