Toronto game was pretty ugly. UPL was in midseason form. Olofsson blended right in with the other AHL'ers. The lineup was certainly lacking but not a lot of positives to take away from that one.

Zach Benson looks amazing. Hard to believe he just turned 18 four months ago.

Serious topic: it’s time to trade for DJ Moore
QCity replied to FireChans's topic in The Stadium Wall
Bears GM Ryan Poles spent over $130M on the 1st day of free agency and then traded for Moore's ~$50M left on his contract. Certainly not all-in, but a clear signal they were planning on making big strides this season. I don't think he has the clout to tell ownership "Hey let's cut bait and sell-off 2 months into the season, give me another shot next year." His job wouldn't survive it - he's tied to these players and has to find a way to make it work. Good luck. -
I don't have the time to watch this video but reading the name Mike-Mayer triggered a flashback. Goddamn this man lasted 10 years in the league with a career 56% FG rate and in that time only made 1 kick over 50 yds. A different time. On a Chuck Knox Superbowl team.

Somehow the Giants were like 1 score down near the end of 3rd period despite getting completely dominated on both lines of scrimmage.

49ers really don't ask their QB to do much. Just distribute the ball to CMC/Deebo/Kittle and let them run.

Yes, leave Bosa completely unblocked.

Apartment? He should buy a house regardless of what happens in the offseason.

They're just homer takes. And you're damn right if someone on the Miami D hit Diggs like that there would be a 100+ page thread lol.

To All You Dorsey/McD Haters What Say You Now ?
QCity replied to T master's topic in The Stadium Wall
Do you think there are worse Monday takes on this forum after a win or a loss? Honestly, I would probably have to say after a win, maybe because a loss keeps a lot of the wackos away lol? -
I'm reading this thread and I somewhat get why people are ragging on this game (mostly in the first half it seems?) -- but it's basically because of the 2 QB's (one who is spent, and the other is a backup on a good day) That was an absolute brutal, physical, everyone-in-the-ice-bath type of game, a true war of attrition. They likely aren't playoff teams but those defenses played like the division was on the line in Week Freaking 2. We may have watched a guy end his career (he blew that same knee out in college). Nobody on that field thought that game was meaningless, that's for sure.

Gruesome injury. His career is in jeopardy

...and Savoie gets hurt in the 1st period.

OT: will that FG block by the Pats fundamentally change kicks?
QCity replied to Success's topic in The Stadium Wall
It wasn't just a block, the play was designed to score. Check out Miller running down field in case the blocked ball comes to him. Never seen anything like that. -
Also keep in mind Noah Ostland isn't playing in the prospects games (in Swedish Pro league). They've got 5 1st round forwards in the pipeline.
-
"We're going to get accused of drafting small forwards" "I like good hockey players" Savoie looked great in the prospects game.

It's an excellent analysis of that play. The problem of receivers not knowing how long to run a stem route is something that should have been fixed in training camp.

That phrase is nothing more than marketing speak for a rebuild. That's it. Nothing more. It was first used over 10 years ago when the 76ers new GM wanted to rebuild and dealt away their only All-Star, Jrue Holiday. The Philly fanbase was apoplectic, and the "Trust The Process" slogan was used to comfort their nerves and calm them down (of course it also became a rallying cry). The same thing happened here when we jettisoned Dareus and Watkins - our fanbase had a complete meltdown and the phrase was used to settle everyone down akin to waving shiny keys in front of a crying infant. It's not a secret, next-level plan or some mystical force. P.S. 11 years later the 76ers still haven't reached the title game.

The year is 2030. It is August. Gabe Davis is in his 12th year without ever catching 50 passes in a season. There are about 20 threads wondering if Davis could be a true #2 receiver. A dozen morons still think Cole Beasley is coming back at age 41. This..... This is twobillsdrive.com

I hope the coaches can get him to understand that punting the football away is not the end of the world.

Last night was Exhibit A for setting expectations lower.

That was one of the worst coached games I've ever seen. Absolutely no reason to be that hyper-aggressive against a backup QB that can barely throw the ball 20 yds.
