Yeah, pretty much what I said... I'll admit I was wrong about calling him "Classic Fitz," as that would entail him throwing a 4th quarter pick.
-
Exactly. How do you know he isn't? Guy hasn't stepped onto the field yet. I'm not a fan of Nassib, but the other QBs aren't exactly lighting it up.

Have a friend in Rochester who installed solar panels a decade ago, he said he saves between 35%-45% per month depending on the season. He recouped his initial investment back in 9 years and said the panels are rated to last 20-25 years, so the rest is gravy for him (especially since electricity costs are rising). He said back when he installed he only got something like $2,000 back as a tax credit and that the current 30% tax credit makes it an incredible investment. If I had a house I planned on living at for 20+years I would consider it, but since you are moving in a few years I probably wouldn't install them. Edit: I should mention that him and his friend did 95% of the install, including the inverter and wiring. So I guess that saved some $$$ but even paying for the install it seems sound. Yeah, tell us all about the mad bomber. I'll guess that before the prevent defense he went deep twice.
-
Never said he did. He just throws to whoever is running the 7-yard crossing pattern every time. Just good enough to look competent, and just good enough to lose.
-
Uh, no, he wasn't willing to take a pay cut. Classic Fitz, doesn't attempt to throw a pass over 10 yards in the air until they're down 2 scores and the other team is in a prevent defense.

What do you dislike about Rodak? I think he's done a solid job and his assessment of our team has been spot-on every week. A vast improvement over James Walker, who didn't seem to watch the actual games.
-
I'm picking the BIlls to lose as well. Rex Ryan owns us.

Why do people think this? The salary cap for rookies has changed drastically. Teams are no longer committed to their 1st round pick for 3-4 years. We owe EJ approximately $1M per year over the next 4 years - that's not a financial commitment we are tied down with. Heck, that's nothing. I'm not abandoning EJ, I still want to watch him play out these last 6 games and watch for improvement. But if these last 6 games resemble what happened in Pitt last week, then we have to draft a QB early.

I don't know a single gamer that wants the "eye," and the PS4 doesn't force you to buy it. Launch day exclusives mean very little over a console's lifespan of 5+ years, and the PS4 is going to destroy the XBone over the long term with the sheer amount of exclusives it will have. And as for that slick UI that they show at large conferences? Umm, you know that hooks to your cable box with an IR blaster, right?

I thought the guy texting me that had a stroke. -
I'll agree that the punt was an atrocious call - not sure what Marrone was thinking there. Flashbacks of Chan went through my head. However, regarding the Single Worst Play of the Season, allow me to illustrate what a complete idiot Gregg Easterbrook is. Three plays earlier, that same fourth-stringer at quarterback attempted a pass on second-and-goal on the Kansas City 1. Surely attempting a pass on 2nd down from that distance is a far more ridiculous call than a 3rd down pass. Oh wait a minute! That pass resulted in a PI flag that gave us a fresh set of downs at the 1. Proof positive that either: a) he's an idiot that doesn't even watch the full games or b) he's an idiot that is complaining about the result, rather than play-calling

Peyton Manning??? If this team had Alex Smith we would be 6-4 or better right now. But I agree. You keep drafting a QB in the 1st until a clear franchise QB is on the roster. This is no time to worry about EJ's psyche regarding our confidence in him.

I know everyone remembers EJ's late drive against Carolina, but the D won that game, specifically Mario. And 2 weeks later the D intercepted Flacco 5 times. The D single-handedly won the Miami game for us, and our D held the Chiefs to 3 field goals and 200 yards despite our offense shooting itself in the foot. Yeah, the Saints racked up some yards on us, that's going to happen in the Superdome. And yes, the entire team didn't show up in Pittsburgh. But the defense is responsible for our 3 wins, and that total would be double with an offense that isn't completely inept. They aren't the 85 Bears, but I don't see how you can ask them to pick the team up any more?

There is no room for rational football analysis in this lynch mob! Don't you understand this is Ralph's fault?? This team is a QB away from a playoff run. And I'm not talking about a top-5 QB like Brees or Rodgers, just someone who's slightly above average. The bad news is that it's proving difficult to find that guy.

I saw a punt from the 36 yd line in the 4th quarter down by 14. Ouch Doug, ouch.

A Few Thoughts About The Game, in no particular order....
QCity replied to Bill from NYC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Scouts measure arm strength on how well a QB can throw the deep out (15-20 yds) from standing still in the pocket. They clock the time from the set position (right before he begins his motion) to the time when the ball reaches his target. This means both the throwing motion (or release) is combined with velocity to estimate arm strength. Most fans erroneously associate arm strength with how far a QB can throw the bomb (Hey man I seen Fitz throw the ball 50+ yards!!), but every NFL QB can unload a 50+ yd Hail Mary if they rear back and step into it. For reference, a 15-20 yd sideline out will have to travel ~35 yds if thrown from the pocket, and it typically has to come in at a low trajectory i.e. "on a rope." Not an easy throw to make, and on the rare attempts by Fitz, you were left holding your breath as that ball hung in the air for what felt like hours. Marino was probably the best I've ever seen at throwing the deep out, and he made it look as effortless as snapping his fingers. One of the reasons the Jets have our number is because Rex Ryan knows we can't make that throw. They completely take away the middle of the field and sit back and dare us to throw the middle and deep outs into man coverage. -

This team needs a QB (can't say if EJ is our guy yet because he is not on the field). I'm not talking about a superstar top 5 QB like Peyton Manning or Drew Brees, just a guy that's slightly above average who doesn't turn the ball over. If we had a guy like Alex Smith, we would be 6-3 right now (maybe even 7-2) and poised for an exciting playoff run down the stretch. The general suckiness of our QBs over the last decade and the QB injuries this year have been maddening,

This loss was Jim Kelly's fault.
