  1. Spot on. They have no chance at signing him after this season (barring a career ending to Brady). He's simply not going to hold a clipboard for 3 more years.
  2. I wouldn't feel too sorry for them. Now that the details are out, this is actually a fantastic deal for them - and pretty shrewd of their front office as well. Dalton's contract has only $17M of guaranteed money in it, and it is essentially a 2 yr deal worth $25M. After that it becomes a year-to-year deal. If they don't like what they see after 2 more years, they can give him the boot. If he leads them to the promised land, they can pony up and pay him. The last 4 years of his contract only have $7.2M of dead money, which is extremely reasonable for a deal of that size. And if you are still feeling sorry they give him $25M for 2 years, keep in mind we paid Fitz $10M a year, and somehow his contract had more guaranteed money ($24M) than this Dalton deal. Imagine that!
  3. Need to see what's guaranteed.
  4. They need to sit him down and have another talk about ball security like last year. 2 fumbles and a pick in 1 half against 3rd stringers is pretty bad.
  5. Gold Stars: Henderson, Brown, Woods I know it's only preseason, but that's not what anybody wanted to see out of EJ. Thad may have regressed to the point that he won't make the roster. Doug Whaley will probably need a few stiff drinks to fall asleep tonight. Unless it's a fly pattern, TJ Graham simply cannot gain any separation. Every ball thrown his way is a pick waiting to happen. It's time to part ways.
  6. For some reason that statement made me believe him even less.
  7. A new stadium will come with an iron-clad agreement to keep the team in town for the next 30+ years. That's why. The Ralph is like a very old car - one that you've had some of your fondest memories in. It still gets you where you want to go, but the trips to the auto shop are getting more and more frequent and the repair bills are adding up. The NFL is a billion dollar corporation, and it doesn't want old cars in its garage.
  8. I don't want to go back too far in history, too many old wounds. Obviously that 6-3 Cleveland loss set a new low for professional sports. But if I had to pick one from recent memory, say the last 2 seasons, that Seattle game in Toronto was a pretty vicious beating. Team had no answers and just outright quit. I thought a few members of the defense might just void their contracts and retire after that game.
  9. So QB is overrated, it's a running league, and Luck sucks. I have to admit, that's pretty damn impressive for just over 1 page.
  10. The week between the Raiders game and the Superbowl was the longest week of my life. It felt like an eternity. Zero work was accomplished that week. The entire city was just buzzing and going bonkers - it felt like a long, surreal dream. Even though the outcome wasn't what we wanted, I don't think anything will ever top the pure excitement of that first Superbowl. For some reason it just didn't seem possible that I would ever see the Bills play in the big game, but there it was.
  11. 10 people voted "Yes" and believe the Toronto group will keep the team in Buffalo. I would like the 10 of you to contact me via PM, as I have some interesting business opportunities for you, including a way to make $7500+ per week working at home on your computer.
  12. We should have traded our first 6 picks of the draft, we can always draft a Brady-type QB in the 7th round. Errr, screw Brady, trade the 7th round pick too - we'll just get Peyton Manning in FA.
  13. You think we can flip Thad Lewis for picks??
  14. If we keep 2 and bring back Brad Smith, it would be like getting an extra roster spot. Plus Hackett could draw up some Wildcat formations.
  15. They took Jaworski's name off the stadium years ago, since he has basically given zero back to the community and behaves like a schmuck in general. Maybe they should do a "30 for 30" episode about it.
  16. Marrone doesn't drive, he walks to work with his lunchpail in his hands. Both ways. Uphill.
  17. 470 yards of offense, 229 of them on the ground. Our D held them to 210 total yards for KC and didn't let them score a single TD. Just brutal.
  18. I'm still waiting for "Did this team just get better with the injury to Kiko???" Good stuff people.
  19. This would be an incredible spot for tailgating - a lot of room down there. It seems like a long shot, but the new owner would have to see some solid number on cleanup costs before ruling it out.
  20. We are going to have a great team on Madden this year.
  21. I don't mind that area, but I just don't think they have the room? http://www.19ideas.com/stadium?id=1399 It's 1/4 the size of the current parcel the Ralph sits on. Maybe if they buyout the neighboring strip mall?
  22. "You can't judge a quarterback after 2 years, it takes at least 3"
  23. He's alive
  24. A football stadium on its own is not going to transform an area, those 8 home games are nothing compared to a baseball stadium's 82 games over a 6-month span. What a football stadium can do is buttress an already developing area, such as Canalside. You need to look no further than the Ralph for proof - in 40+ years the only economic developments in the immediate area directly attributed to the stadium are what, a few bars? You build a stadium alone in a ghetto and 20 years from now you are going to have a stadium alone in a ghetto.
