  1. I have to agree. I think we can all agree that you can't turn the ball over 3 times against anyone, but it was 13-7 after the turnovers. That's hardly an insurmountable lead. Our D simply could not stop them in the 2nd half. They scored on every possession and racked up close to 300 yards in the 2nd half.
  2. This signing was a train wreck from day 1. Even when healthy he is a below average guard.
  3. Drafting Sammy Watkins for EJ Manuel is like buying a Ferrari for a toddler.
  4. Watkins 20 yds illustrates why you need to play press-man behind a blitz Amen to that. It drives me crazy when teams play off coverage behind a blitz.
  5. Maybe they're ranked as the top defenses because they've played Buffalo?
  6. Here's some vintage FredEx from last Sunday. 2nd and 10, simple swing pass. Detroit plays it well and has 2 players ready to hold Freddie to a 2 yard gain. Nope. Fred lowers his shoulder and plows through a crowd for an 8 yard gain. https://vimeo.com/108286214
  7. The extremes this board goes to after every win or loss never fails to amaze me. If we beat the Pats next week I'm guessing he'll be compared to Peyton Manning.
  8. Yeah http://www.boston.co...wner_shine.html
  9. I don't see any way he can be in game form. He may even be a liability in coverage at this stage.
  10. Always defer!
  11. Here's my post on him from back in March. I'm a big fan of his play but was not happy to see him sign in NE. http://forums.twobil...20#entry3080994
  12. Look, the entire offense -- plays, calls, checks, is designed for EJ Manuel. You can'r reconstruct and tailor-fit the entire game plan to a new QB in 4 days of practice. The offense will open up under Orton but it will be a gradual process. Yes, I know it is painful to watch CJ slam into Suh over and over but give the Lions some credit. They are ranked as the #1 defense for a reason, and their DL is at the top of the league.
  13. That was the worst game I've ever seen Spiller play. Not only did he average 0.8 yards per carry, but he completely whiffed on a block that almost got our QB killed and could have easily been a safety or fumble/TD even.
  14. It's beyond idiotic and I'm glad they got their karma back quick via 3 missed FGs.
  15. Last week Detroit's best player was hurt and only used as a decoy. He still may not play this week. Calvin Johnson's status in doubt That is HUGE.
  16. Brief clips from yesterday's practice Get ready for the best pump fake in the NFL!
  17. Important to keep that in mind. He didn't get any help from Murray either, who rushed 17 times for only 48 yards -- that's 2.8 yards per carry. Philly held the entire Dallas team to 56 yards rushing and forced Orton to put it up 46 times. Obviously, we don't want that either. I've added the boxscore to the original post so you can see the stats. Witten caught 12 balls, Dez caught 8. I love our chances this season with Orton, however I am pretty bearish on the Detroit game. It's not just Fairley, Suh, and Ansah, it's the crowd noise that has me worried. With the limited time Orton has spent with our wideouts, I can see at least 1 INT due to QB/WR miscommunication on an audible. At least 1.
  18. I've come to realize there are a lot of people speculating about Orton that obviosuly haven't ever seen him play. Here's a 6 minute video of all his throws in his last game. It was last year's final week 17 game against Philly with the season on the line (the winner advanced to the playoffs). This was his only start of the year. As you can see he has excellent footwork, is very decisive, and has a quick release. He has lapses in accuracy which has lead to some Fitzpatrick-like INTs, one of which you will see to end the game. Since he was "thrown" into this game after spending the season as a backup, there is a lot of conservative underneath passing -- a gameplan we will probably see this Sunday. Orton 30/46 358yds 2TD 2INT Kyle Orton vs Philadelphia Eagles Boxscore Edit: fixed link, added boxscore
  19. The yips? In Houston he threw like he had Ebola.
  20. Here, I cropped that epic pic for your avatar.
  21. Yeah his decisiveness looks incredible. Everything he does just looks quick. God, that video is so depressing.
