  1. You can't judge a defense independently of the offense. Our offense this year puts a tremendous amount of pressure on our D to perform almost flawlessly. We need turnovers to help us win. Those Superbowl teams often staked our D to 3 score leads at halftime and forced opponents to become one dimensional. This may sound crazy, but I'm not completely sold on our D this year. Our ferocious pass rush is certainly a nightmare match up for inexperienced and sub-par QB's -- Geno Smith, Vick, Bridgewater, Hoyer, etc, but looking at the schedule we haven't played a top-10 QB since Brady in Week 6 (no, I don't consider Tannehill or Alex Smith top-10). That last match up with NE was brutal -- they scored every time they had the ball in the 2nd half on long drives (3 of 80+ yds) and we looked helpless to stop them. This is going to be a fascinating and (hopefully) exciting month of football, because we are going to find our if our D can stand up to the truly elite QBs.
  2. I'm trying to illustrate that the Bills regain the 6th seed and also regain control of their own destiny next week in that scenario. There is no "starting point." The starting point in the simulator is only used as a tool to quickly predict future weeks. I'm onlysimulating next week. And yes, it's predicated on a Denver loss to Buffalo as I said in my post.
  3. You'll get no argument from me regarding our chances. What are the odds right now? Like 13%? Facing three HOF QB's in a month? Eeep. One thing is certain, if they do pull off a miracle and make it in, nobody will say they didn't earn it. Here's another way of looking at the picture -- forget about the entire month and just use predictions from next week: Playoff Machine Only Week 14 CIN over PIT BAL over MIA ARI over KC puts us back in the Wildcard (with an upset win over DEN of course lol)
  4. Orton had his worst game as a Bill, but that 2nd pick is on Sammy. On that route the QB is trusting his receiver to at least cross the face of the DB. Haden simply ate Sammy's lunch on that play, and after that effort Robert Woods became the hot read.
  5. We need BAL and NEP to win this week. If Miami goes 3-1 we are pretty much toast (#$%^ing Jets). You can't use Defensive Rankings, it paints an unrealistic picture i.e. the Pats losing out and being eliminated (would be hilarious however)
  6. I thought Gruden was going to jump out of the booth because they didn't try to throw to Decker in single coverage.
  7. It lifts Miami ahead of us, plus they still have 3 home games including 2 against Minn and the Jests. Our chances of getting in if we go 3-1 went lower (not that I think we are going 3-1 anyway).
  8. Play 60 and drink Bud Light.
  9. Over 10 posts and nobody has mentioned our trainer? smh
  10. It's pretty scary that they can miss this call with the current replay review system.
  11. Certainly some plays where he was open and KO couldn't get him the ball, but I think there's far more where Haden completely snuffed him out and KO was forced to go to his 2nd or 3rd option. He's definitely playing hurt and doesn't have the same burst out of his breaks, he was riding the bike on the sidelines and looked lost.
  12. I think when the A-22 comes out this week people are going to see that he was rarely open. That 2nd INT was entirely on Sammy -- he has to make that cut and fight Haden for the ball. After that play I can understand why they started targeting Woods more.
  13. If bsteff5 can't use them and they are going to waste my friend and his father would put them to use. The only problem is that I'm in the parking lot right now so coordinating the transaction might be tricky?
  14. Deep down everyone knows we're getting the 3rd pick this year.
  15. This thread was brought to you by the New York Jets.
  16. For those wondering, a recap of what happened over the summer. Pretty classy to involve Tally's daughter.
  17. Why do we have to drag EJ into every thread?
  18. I really don't care much for Sherman's mouth, but I thought this was awesome! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iOR9CuZqI8g
  19. They blew the defensive call. 12 seconds left and no TOs you should not be in a Cover-2 with that field position. After that call we had to call a TO to get into the correct prevent D for the final play. Luckily, we can afford these mistakes against Vick.
  20. Someone should dial up Francesa tomorrow and mention that the Bills don't even need to practice to beat the Jets.
  21. The run game still is not there for us (aside from Boobie's TD run when the Jets already gave up). Special Teams were off the hook tonight.
  22. Maybe you should stop getting your local sports news from Yahoo Finance.
  23. Our HOFers were no angels. I'm pretty sure a few of them were paying rent on 2nd apartments in Fort Erie based on the amount of time they spent up there. I can't even imagine the 80s/early 90s stories if everyone was walking around carrying a video camera in their pocket. I don't know if we could upstage the Cowboys, but I bet it would be close. This is just what happens when you try to fill a 24 hr sports news cycle when there isn't 24 hrs worth of sports news.
  24. Oh I should clarify, 1-3 inches throughout the week. For 17 days out though all bets are off.
