  1. Now that looked like a road game on no rest.
  2. Those Vines show 2 terrible passes, you'll get no argument from me there. Those plays happened in the 2nd half, I was breaking down the 1st half (I didn't even re-watch the 2nd half yet). The throws on the Watkins slips are right there, you might want to withhold judgement until you get a view from a better angle or watch the A22 tape. This is a great example of how a play can be misinterpreted by only watching network TV coverage. Even the coaches on the sideline are telling Sammy, "If you stay up, it's a wrap." Sammy Watkins wired for sound
  3. We're going to have to disagree then. Again, I'll admit that Orton played lousy, but Woods has to catch that ball -- it hit him cleanly in the hands. I know it's hard to blame Watkins for anything around here, but he slipped and fell twice and it wasn't because of poor throws. His demeanor after the second slip clearly showed how frustrated he was with himself. As far as the sacks go, KO is just never going to be an elusive QB. He's a statue and the book on him is to get him to move his feet. You can put most of the blame on him for the sacks, but the interior of the line has to give him more room to step up. I thought the 6yd pass to Hogan was a very interesting play. Watkins was running down the sidelines, but he wasn't open. Woods ran a useless 2 yd out and Hogan ran a 6yd hook, where if he catches it, all of his momentum is heading back towards the LOS on a 3rd and 12. Freddie is a safety valve and Chandler is probably the best option, but Burnett looked like he read that play well and was ready to step in front of him. I guess you can say Chandler would have been the best option but it would have been a dangerous pass and certainly not a sure 1st down. The bigger question is why would you call a play on 3rd and 12 where 3 of your 5 possible targets have no realistic chance to get a 1st down if they catch it?
  4. Homestand is over. We need to get on the road and start getting our ass kicked. Oilers fire Dallas Eakins Maybe this will inspire them
  5. Chicago ditched Orton for Cutler -- it cost them a ton of money, draft picks, and really didn't work out for them. Following in their footsteps 5 years later would be insane.
  6. Kyle Orton was never going to retire, even his old boss knew that was complete nonsense. Jerry Jones: Kyle Orton doesn't plan to retire from NFL
  7. I can't say for certain what the design was, was mostly commenting on the execution. And unless they were attempting to set up screen passes all half, the execution was poor. The middle was blown up on long yardage plays, and this is without BJ Raji playing.
  8. Yeah, I was just focusing on the 1st half for the time being. Trying to figure out how we can get the ball 7 times and only come away with 3 points. I'm not trying to absolve Orton -- he needs to play better, but it's a lot more than "just the QB." The entire offense was a train wreck, from blocking schemes to route running.
  9. I didn't see that in the first half. Woods dropped a ball that hit him in the hands on 1st and 10, then the next play was an INT.
  10. I agree. I just re-watched the first half of the game. Our offense was given the ball 7 times (not counting the Thigpen runback) and totaled 3 points. Orton was probably directly responsible for 1 of those drives ending -- the one with the INT. Every other drive was stymied with the run getting completely stuffed, penalties, receivers slipping and falling down, dropped passes, or missed blocks resulting in sacks/pressure. There was an ugly 5 yd incompletion to Freddie, but that was on a 3rd and 18 and it didn't look like he was going to get the 1st even if he caught it.
  11. He played a full game for Dallas in December 2013. The posters on this board even watched that footage before the Detroit game!
  12. Semantics???
  13. Bursts onto the scene? Getting tape on him? He's been playing since 2005!
  14. Last week winning out gave us like a ~38% chance to get in. Now down to only 27% if we win out
  15. Great win yesterday but unfortunately we didn't get any help.
  16. Yeah, Montoya has zero lateral movement. Enroth looked average.
  17. Now we're starting to outshoot teams.
  18. Barring a Dallas-Philadelphia tie, the Cards will be guaranteed a wildcard this weekend.
  19. "The Sabres have won eight of 11. They’re 9-7-1 in their last 17 games and that’s no small sample size. It’s more than 20 percent of the season." I don't think we've outshot a team all season, but these teams have to stop playing their backup goalies against us. That goaltender for Calgary was brutal.
  20. According to Harrington, probably Stewart and Stafford, and I wouldn't complain. If they trade Myers I'll be upset, and if they trade Enroth now it would look really bad. "Murray knows what Terry Pegula wants and shares the owner’s lust for Connor McDavid (or Jack Eichel). But he can’t make it overly obvious what his intentions might be. Trading Enroth now would be horrendous optics, about the tankiest thing ever."
  21. I believe that's wishful thinking from a fan. A 5yr contract with $12M-$15M guaranteed? There's a team out there willing to give him more than that. I think the guaranteed money ($11M) is spot on, but there's little chance he will sign a 2yr deal (it's amazing Avril did). Project Avril's guaranteed cash over 5 yrs and you get $27.5M, and that sounds just about right.
  22. I think a good guide would be to use Tamba Hali's contract, which was 5yr $57M with $35M guaranteed. I think Hughes will be similar with less guaranteed (doesn't have as long a track record) say $25M.
  23. Quiz time! Question: Brian Schottenheimer has been an OC for the past 9 years. He has never fielded a top-10 offense, and in 7 of those 9 years his offense was never ranked higher than 20th. Why is he still coaching in the NFL? Answer:
