  1. Best comment - "Even when it came to a job interview, he punted."
  2. Wow, I hope he's a better communicator with his players. I don't know what more cringe-inducing -- that interview or the fact that half our fanbase wants a guard whose name they can't even spell.
  3. Sammy is represented by Parker. Parker doesn't get involved with rookie contracts anymore because the new CBA leaves very little room for negotiation (it's work for his peons now). There is no 5th year option on his rookie deal. We have 3 seasons left on Sammy's contract and I assure you Parker will be heading negotiations. I don't think too many fans are concerned about EJ's agent.
  4. I feel bad for Jeanneret. Don't know how many more years he's got left but it would be nice to get in the playoffs again with him in the booth.
  5. Well, the problems start to arise when two parties start vying for Pegula's ear. This probably won't happen in the early honeymoon phase, but with careers on the line and type-A personalities, it's safe to say it will at some point (you want to succeed or fail on your own terms - not someone else's mistake). Also -- and this may sound like school playground politics -- if one party is perceived as "schmoozing the boss," it gives the impression of a power grab and could foster resentment between the two. That was my take on it too Dibs, until I read the above quote. Maybe Whaley just doesn't understand everyone's exact roles? Why would he think it would ever go to Russ?? Most teams outline a specific hierarchy such as Owner -> GM -> Coach to define a clear chain of command. I don't think our triumvirate will work for the reasons I mentioned above. Then again, if we go 12-4. none of this will matter. However if we slip back to 6-10, it's a recipe for a front office meltdown.
  6. Elite?? I wasn't talking about an elite QB. We haven't had a top-15 QB in over a decade. That's referred to as "butchering the position," and that's a polite way of describing that level of incompetence.
  7. Two blowouts with both home teams winning.
  8. Enroth is definitely back on board with the tank. I guess the only downside is that both our goalies lost what little trade value they had.
  9. I can't see this triumvirate working. Even Whaley himself said he's not sure what happens when there's a disagreement.
  10. Yeah Fangio is gone in SF too, so Solari will almost certainly bail. This looks good for us.
  11. Well ok then. Sarcasm aside, the front office has butchered the position over the years.
  12. You have to be joking. There's about a dozen of these. Bears fear a potential Cutler mutiny Jay Cutler's attitude criticized by ex-Chicago Bear
  13. Aside from being aloof, nonchalant, and egotistical - none. Walking off the field in the 2011 Championship game didn't exactly project the image of a gamer.
  14. Every team in the league passed on Wilson. Twice.
  15. Talk about picking the wrong topic to play devil's advocate....wow!
  16. That's absolutely right, and I think most fans here understand that (there's a few that still don't get it). I disagree with the "Anything else is a waste of time" statement however -- you still need other players. Ultimately the Ryan era will be defined on what QB we are able to acquire in the next few years.
  17. Pretty much what I expected from Rex.
  18. I'm on the Century-Link bandwagon as well. There's ample area protected from the elements, plus the die-hard drinkers can still party in the endzone and get the full brunt of the snow. Would look spectacular and the acoustics are the cherry on top!
  19. This also sets the NY papers up for a "Toilet Bowles" headline at some point.
  20. I heard the Jets and Falcons were fighting over Quinn. With the Jets having hired Bowles, it seems like a done deal with Quinn in Atlanta. If the buzz about Fox being the frontrunner in Chicago is true, it's possible Marrone is left standing out in the cold. I don't think San Fran or Oakland even showed any interest.
  21. We're starting to pull away from Carolina. Even Edmonton has 8 points in their last 10 games.
  22. I'm glad they didn't get Quinn.
  23. There was a big splash in 2011 when they gave Ville Leino and Christian Ehrhoff $67 million dollars. Just because it's a big splash doesn't necessarily mean it's a good move. Just sayin'
