  1. He took a shot in the ankle it looked like. He had to be helped off the ice.
  2. That EDM win lessens the sting. But ARI is going to be a problem.
  3. That goaltender Forsberg was brutal. These 4-goal games can bolster confidence. Not good, not good. Arizona just lost their 7th straight.
  4. Agreed. I think the Rams would be lucky to get a 3rd for him. He's got a knee held together with duct tape.
  5. It really isn't. And I'm specifically talking about football stadiums, not baseball, hockey or basketball.
  6. Football stadiums do not spur growth, they can actually hinder it.
  7. This is going to end badly. His knee is shot and the Rams know it.
  8. I actually wouldn't mind Toronto, would be a pretty cool cross-lake rivalry of McDavid & Eichel.
  9. Speak of the devil, Skurski just wrote a piece on him.
  10. Seriously. Moulson scored before I even sat down and my friend immediately texted me "Hire Ron Rolston for the remainder of the season."
  11. It doesn't really, or you would see more teams in the playoffs with average QBs. I'll agree that a big part of it was having two tall, freakish WRs like Marshall and Jeffery. And an OL that can keep him upright of course.
  12. I'm interested to see Dorial Green-Beckham. Raw route runner with character issues but a freakish specimen.
  13. From the Dec thread
  14. This tank is far from over. That's the 2nd gritty road performance in a row and we've played 1 less game than EDM. We may have to take it up a notch and trade Neuvirth.
  15. You can, but in this situation it would be almost impossible to reach a long-term deal with him if he is tagged. Hughes is looking at a 5-year deal that will probably give him around $25M guaranteed. The franchise tag value for DE's this year is expected to be just under $15M. A tag would get him ~60% of the expected guaranteed money he would command in a 5-year deal. There would be very little incentive for him to keep negotiations open at that point. Take your guaranteed $15M, play another year next to 3 Pro Bowlers, and start again from square one next year. This is a situation where if he was tagged, his agent would pop a bottle of champagne and take a vacation in the tropics.
  16. I'm not saying he never led the team to victory. I'm saying he won't do it enough to prevent another lost season. I think the chances of Bradford not getting hurt are extremely low.
  17. Franchising him would be completely inept.
  18. I would say the worst case scenario is that he gets hurt and EJ plays like EJ. Which means another lost season and another year of age on the defense.
  19. The tank is doing crazy things to me. Up at 1AM watching EDM def BOS in a 12 round shootout.
  20. Surprising. I honestly thought he would mention it. Maybe follow it up with a discussion on how Manuel was drafted too high as well, then segue into some banter about last year's signings of Chris Williams and Keith Rivers. Just havin some fun
  21. Like I just said, he needs the right system and the right talent. I wouldn't say his Arizona, Oak, and Carolina teams were talented. Also in that half season he outplayed Jay Cutler, the TDB dream-crush of last January. And yeah, he may be the girl who is a 5, but that 5 is always going to look a lot better when you have a 3 waiting at home.
  22. It's called demand. Whether TSW realizes it or not, he's one of the top FA QB's out there. He's shown that if you plug him into the right system and surround him with talent, he is capable of putting up some impressive numbers. Then again, if you stick him behind an OL that can't block, it's not very pretty.
  23. I think you are seeing something completely different than I am. I don't see a fan base that expects a rookie QB to have a Pro Bowl season. I see a fan base that would be thrilled if they thought EJ could someday be considered an "average" QB ranked somewhere between 15-16 in the league. Not in his first year even -- just an average game manager QB down the road.
  24. Well, we don't have to worry about winning anymore shootouts with Neuvirth in net. Otherwise, he had a solid game.
  25. How much time would you like to give him? We've already given him two years, and both times he lost the job himself - once by injury and once by terrible play. Keep in mind he's been regressing, not improving. Does anyone remember last offseason? He threw so many balls into the dirt at SJF, they'll probably need a new surface this year. He was so bad in preseason we had to keep our 1st team offense in the game well into the 3rd quarter to score our 1st TD against a 2nd string defense. He was so bad that Whaley had to bring in Jordan Palmer for a tryout, and then throw an $11M contract at Orton to get him to come here. We were practically facing a WR revolt after the San Diego game. Do you remember that? You want him to play 16 games regardless of how he performs? Is that fair to the rest of the team? Edit: I also completely disagree with your theory that the fans need to baby our QB.
