  1. Take away his first read, and he doesn't look like an NFL passer. He (and the rest of the offense) padded their stats in the 4th Q when they were down by 24 pts. He's not the reason we lost, and he's still the best QB on the roster, but this should pump the brakes on all the silly Russell Wilson comparisons that were being whispered around here.
  2. Bills 27 Pats 21 Pats defense is looking soft without WIlfork, Browner and Revis. Mayo looks to be still hurting too, as he only played 11 snaps last week.
  3. Bill Burr is the man, great delivery.
  4. If you're joking, that's hysterical. If you're serious, it's even funnier.
  5. I was impressed by the tackling, particularly the secondary -- which suffocated their receivers after the catch. As we seen before when Pettine was here, Robey is tailor-made to play nickel in this D. 11 penalties for 113 yard? Ouch. Better clean that up fast.
  6. 24-21 Bills. Colts D is soft. We're built to beat this type of team.
  7. They still don't show the replays from all angles like broadcast TV, especially if it's a controversial call.
  8. Keep in mind that LeBeau is no longer with the Steelers, and this is their first year transitioning to a Cover-2. There's going to be a lot of growing pains. Another reason why that Steelers preseason game was fool's gold for those that think we have 3 starting caliber QB's on this roster. I was wondering why Jerod Mayo was invisible last night, then I read today that he only played 11 snaps. Very interesting, especially for a player that was considered to be a vital component of their run defense this year with Wilfork gone.
  9. Both those defenses looked soft.
  10. Watching Vince Wilfork in the field goal kicking competition was entertaining.
  11. There are some real gems in there. My favorite: This is an excellent example of how stats belie what's actually happening on the field. People never even saw him play for the Jets, but they heard he tallied 6 sacks, and proceeded to freak out. I saw those sacks. They were all the product of scheming and/or coverage, and any warm-bodied 2nd string LB could have done the same.
  12. I never said it didn't.
  13. If you didn't attend SJF, you've seen EJ throw 30 passes this preseason, only 2 of which were against starters. Also, aside from his first three series against Cleveland, all were against vanilla non-blitzing defenses. Contrast that to the hundreds of passes he's thrown in OTA's and TC this summer. The coaches know what they have.
  14. Don't worry EJ fans, you'll always have Pittsburgh. The legend of him throwing those 8 passes in that game shall endure for decades.
  15. 4 years regardless of playing time gets you vested veteran status. The big perk is that your base salary becomes guaranteed if you are on the roster week 1.
  16. He's got one thing right - this was the fault of the Pegulas. They should have never said anything or got involved back in March. The fans perceived it as a wonderful gesture at the time, but it only delayed the inevitable. It was fairly evident back then that Fred wasn't part of the team's future plans. This would have also been the best situation for Fred, as well. It would have given more teams (with more cap maneuverability at the time) a better opportunity to determine if a 34 yr old RB fit into their plans. Also it would had given Fred some time to contemplate and plan his next move, instead of yanking his kids out of school and moving across the country 2 weeks before the opener. That pained look on Rex's and Doug's face at the press conference was genuine - they knew they botched this. They didn't have to throw him a parade, but they needed to handle this tactfully and with some (any) class. Taking a 9-yr vet and the face of the franchise and blindsiding him like a 2nd string UDFA punter was not the way to go about it. I see a lot of fans that loooooove to parrot the "It's business" quote from the Godfather. Well I got news for you, there's good business and there's bad business. That was bush league.
  17. They'll attack the guy that left. Sad and classless.
  18. Mike Rodak ‏@mikerodak 5h5 hours ago Leodis McKelvin is walking around with two shoes on today, like most of us. Notable given he was in a walking cast yesterday.
  19. This is a red letter day for the EJ Dreamers.
  20. https://ashley.cynic.al/
  21. You forgot emotionally. Was he emotionally the Bills best blocker? And 16th best overall guard is about right.
  22. Actually $14M (he's owed $8M this year + 6 years @ $90M). Someone should start a Kickstarter to "Raise money for Marcel" to really illustrate how silly his comment was.
  23. Well I was talking about the two 3-and-outs he had - I credited him for a nice final drive. At the end of the day, he scored 8 points in an entire half against Cleveland's 3rd stringers. If that's exciting to the fan base, then my comment about the bar being lowered for expectations still stands.
  24. You really picked the wrong argument to play devil's advocate lol. Just walk away man, walk away
