Whaley signs multi-year extension with Bills
QCity replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It will mute any lame-duck talk, but you're fooling yourself if you think his job is secure. -
We already have two defensive backs coaches -- hey, let's try two defensive line coaches!

AFC Wildcard game 2: Steelers at Bengals

What a meltdown. Wow. -
Do you think our defense will be better or worse this year?

I think your research methodology needs an overhaul. -
Maybe some of the people on this board that consider themselves experts on salary cap management should take a look at some of the other rosters in the NFL. If you did, you would quickly see that by comparison, the Bills have done very poorly with their spending. This doesn't necessarily mean the Bills are in cap trouble. But hey, venting outrage at any perceived criticism has become the hallmark of this fanbase.

24 hours into the offseason and we have to pretend that this is a team "on the rise" lol

Man that last goal was soft.

Pegulas announce Rex and Whaley will return in 2016
QCity replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ohhh I don't know, maybe selling a home game to another city for profit for 5 years? I already know what the short-sighted reply is to that. "One game wasn't going to make a difference for those teams." Yeah, right. I changed my mind, the Stockholm Syndrome for a level 5 Scientologist has nothing on a member of the Church of Brandon. He's the Teflon President. Seven years as CEO/President and he can't be held accountable for anything that happens to the team? Maybe he is a genius. Ahh well, Happy New Year. -

I don't think he's the major problem holding us back, but he's certainly not helping. He's the President of the team. That's his title. He has influence on what happens with regard to the GM and Coach, who in turn are responsible for what happens on the field. Russ "don't let him leave the room" Brandon seems like a nice enough guy, but it was time to move on years ago. I don't think blaming the guy with the title of President is unfounded. -

A few weeks ago someone on here joked that some fans suffer from Buffalo Bills Stockholm Syndrome. There's no greater example of that than the Brandon apologists. There's no talking to them either, it's like trying to deprogram a Level 5 Scientologist. Oh, and you left out his role as architect of the Toronto series. Remember the competitive edge that gave us? -
AP Report: Bills Will Release Mario After the Season
QCity replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The key word in that sentence is "success." When you've won 4 titles and the division every year, you get the benefit of the doubt. -
Imagine how much greater that letter would be if Eli Manning was here.

Chip Offed...the old block
QCity replied to EmotionallyUnstable's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I would agree. He played the role of a sideline CEO very well, with his one big mistake of bringing along his friend as OC. He's not nearly as bad as our jilted fanbase makes him out to be. The guy won 6 games with EJ freaking Manuel at QB, then won another 9 games with a disinterested Kyle Orton taking the snaps. -
That's a pretty astute analysis, and eerily prescient. I always assumed Rex's tenure here would be from a relatively fresh start, and with his DC coming over with the new faces of Roman and Kromer, it was starting to look that way. Boy, did that change fast. Before you could blink, the rest of the entire Jets coaching staff was here, and man is it bloated. I believe we have the largest coaching staff in the league presently, and I don't think a large portion of them should be in the league to be honest. Your comments about him being overly loyal are spot on, and he still can't live without Eric Smith. Does he owe this guy gambling debts or something?

Tyrod Taylor had a quietly spectacular day
QCity replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Amazing. We just witnessed a better QB performance this season than any in the entirety of Jim Kelly's career, save one. -
You got here a week too late. We just beat the juggernaut Dallas Cowboys last Sunday, so everything is looking rosy again. A victory against the Jets and everyone will be talking about how we can build on this next year. After the 2016 draft, the parade routes will start to get planned.

That was a great game. What a stupid penalty by Burfict in OT.
-
Holtby is a beast. I can't see us beating this team Wednesday with him in net. Good measuring stick though, as they are probably playing the best hockey in the league right now.

Bills rushing stats - what an improvement over last year!
QCity replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Hmmm. Going by your YPC metric, I'm getting 6 of the top 10 rushing teams aren't going to the playoffs. -

Two years ago under Marrone we were 2nd in the league (and 6-10). Shows you how far the running game will take you. -

I would agree. I think when the A22 comes out you will see a lot of passing plays left on the table where Taylor went into scrambling mode too early. Some of his runs are amazing, but other QB's in similar situations could accomplish the same thing by throwing a "boring" 10yd slant from the pocket. And if that's what passes for spectacular play, I think the bar has sunk to a new low. Aside from Sean Lee, that Dallas D has pretty much checked-out for the season, and we racked up a whopping total of 9 points for the first 57 minutes. If Gillislee doesn't pop that 50yd TD at the end, who knows what would have happened.
