  1. The situation is less of a medical consensus and more of a "you should have kept your mouth shut." Twenty four hours before the draft the kid drops the M-word to the NY Post. That's terrifying to GMs, especially hearing that at the last minute with no time to process it. He would have been better off admitting he's a serial killer. After Panthers General Manager Dave Gettleman took Louisiana Tech defensive tackle Vernon Butler with the 30th, he made the obligatory remark about Butler being the highest-rated player on their board. He was then asked if Jack was even on his board. “Oh, yeah,” Gettleman replied immediately. When asked if he was surprised Jack was still available — since many thought would have been a top 10 pick if not for a knee injury that’s going to require more attention — Gettleman was frank. “Not after what he said today,” Gettleman said. “Very frankly. The kid came out and said he is going to need a microfracture.”
  2. Thank God the cheating Pats didn't have a 1st round pick, I could picture them selecting him and ruining my weekend.
  3. Absolutely. It does feel wrong to crap on a 10 win season, but It's the truth though, isn't it? Take a look at their season.
  4. Yup. That's exactly what I mean by mirage. Who did they beat last year that impressed you (aside from the Pats win that I mentioned)? Hell, even the teams they lost to were pretenders (i.e. Oakland, Philly, Us)
  5. The Jets are not a good team and aren't going anywhere, even with Fitz. They simply took advantage of a weak schedule last year (something we did not) and that 10-6 record is a complete mirage. Kudos on beating the Pats late in the year, but that was their only victory of any substance. I doubt they hit .500 this season even if Fitz is under center.
  6. We always have a talented roster in April. Not so much by the end of November when it sinks in.
  7. They've already said months ago they are not moving McCarron. He played very well. His losses were to the Broncos and Steelers, and if Hill doesn't fumble in the 4th quarter, he probably just lead them to their first playoff win in over 20+ years. That's not bad for 5 starts.
  8. His contract was up. You want to bench him for a month and then just let him walk and get nothing? We got Chad Johnson and a 3rd round pick this year for him, that's really not a bad deal.
  9. Nah, keeping Neuvirth could have cost us Eichel. Also remember draft lottery is this Saturday at 7PM 2016 NHL Draft Lottery FAQ: All you need to know
  10. Yeah our old buddy Michal Neuvirth stole that game. How do you get outshot 44 to 11 and win?
  11. That's the year Milloy brought over the playbook 5 days before the opener. That 1 extra win...
  12. Aside from the different teams we play, sure.
  13. He's going to build a wall around EJ Manuel?
  14. Yeah, the "all Brady" mantra is nonsense. That roster is packed with talented players that fit their system. When they started getting injuries in the second half of the season, they limped to a 4-4 record -- and there wasn't a thing Brady could do about it. Back on topic, I think that's a generous ranking for Whaley.
  15. 4 picks in the top 76 this year. Should be a fun draft for Tenn fans.
  16. Some other interesting numbers: 20-14-7. That's the Sabres record over the last half of the season. That's 47 points over 41 games which projects to a 94 point season -- enough for the 8th seed in this year's playoffs. So even with injuries to O'Reilly, Kane, and Lehner, they played a pretty impressive 2nd half.
  17. No, but Auston Matthews is the consensus #1 pick and should be a star. There are two big Finnish players that most agree will go next, so getting into the top 3 this year would be an amazing break for us.
  18. The Sabres finished in the 8th slot for the 2016 draft. They have a 6.0% chance of getting the top pick, and a 19.1% chance of getting a top 3 pick. Those are the two percentages you need to know -- should make for an interesting lottery. Edit: The lottery is Saturday, April 30th.
  19. A week ago I would have agreed with you 100%, but since his agent died...
  20. I brought up the soft schedule about 6 weeks ago, so it might be a slight mirage (regarding our finish), but it's probably the best thing for a young team that needs to learn how to win and build confidence. I agree on the Det/Pit games -- close on the scoreboard but we got soundly beaten.
  21. Shouldn't change anything, there's a handful of athletes that had them. One of the more notables was Serena Williams who had a more serious clot in her lungs years ago IIRC. It does screw the Lightning heading in to the playoffs though. The tanking talk is just silly. I've love to hear how you plan to get rid of Reinhart, Eichel, O'Reilly, Ristolainen, etc. for the last month of the season.
  22. Stamkos wants to play center, which doesn't make him an ideal fit. And if you're going to spend that kind of money on a single player, it needs to be a perfect fit.
  23. For best perspective I would say first 2 rows of the 300 level (anywhere in the middle 3 sections). Obviously the middle 200 sections are great if you have cash to burn. Personally I don't like sitting in the 100s for hockey, but maybe that's just me.
