  1. If Tyrod continues to play like yesterday he won't be on the team next year.
  2. This kid is closer to Johnny Manziel incarnate.
  3. His teams have a 229 - 138 win/loss record -- an astounding 62% win rate. He's taken over losing teams and turned them into contenders for a championship. In his 23 years, his teams have put up double digit wins in 15 of those seasons. That's a pretty long lucky streak.
  4. No, that was the year before. May Day 10 is correct in laughing at Whaley's attempt to enter a season with EJ, Thad Lewis, and Tuel as our quarterbacks. That was the year of the desperate 11th-hour Orton signing when that plan blew up. You think that's bad? When free agency starts in 2017, there's a very, very good chance the only quarterback on the roster will be our 3rd string project QB. Or are we still pretending that we're going to win a title with just a running game and defense?
  5. "Complete failure" is a bit harsh. "Failure" is looking like a fair assessment however.
  6. He was clearly hampered by an injury, it wasn't even debatable at the time to be honest. It's a moot point now that he's on IR, the "he's only missed 3 games" excuse can't be played anymore.
  7. I think availability is a major issue, and that's my point. I don't count a #1 WR acting as a decoy for a month as "available." Is he technically on the field? Sure, but that's a bit disingenuous.
  8. How many games has he actually been healthy for though? Remember the month of November 2014 when we needed him for a wildcard push? He went invisible, tallying something like 12 catches and 100 yards for the entire month. The rallying cry around here was "He's hurt!! He's injured! He's still a great decoy!!" That's just one example. I'd take a guess and say for ~40% of his games there's been some nagging injury that's slowed him down, and it doesn't look like that percentage is going to get any better this year.
  9. Mike Rodak‏@mikerodak Rex Ryan says there is "major concern" over Sammy Watkins' availability moving forward this season. Sounds like he may be done for the year.
  10. I thought he looked really good last night (aside from the one time he got beat in coverage by Bernard). Certainly showing no signs of that ACL injury - tremendous lateral movement, was around the ball constantly and even had a few stuffs in the backfield.
  11. Garoppolo's been practicing and throwing, albeit in a limited fashion. He's going to start Sunday. You're reading way too much into the Bills' comments.
  12. Probably injured it from carrying the team for the last 4 years.
  13. Wentz looked absolutely fantastic. #Wentzlyvania trending.
  14. He won 11 games with Matt freaking Cassel. That's a pretty good feat in itself, no matter how hard you try to diminish it.
  15. Not bad for 3 days to prepare with a 3rd string QB.
  16. Selling football tickets to this community is about as difficult as selling a bucket of wings to Rob Ryan.
  17. Russ is going to get a great look at one of those unturned stones this Sunday, because that unturned stone will be standing on the opposing sideline.
  18. No, they aren't meddling. If they stayed away from the team we'd be getting articles titled, "Where have the Pegulas been throughout this mess?" and "Do the Pegulas even care about their football team?" Damned if you do, damned if you don't.
  19. List of rookie QBs since 1970 to start & win their team's 1st two games of the season without throwing an INT: Carson Wentz
  20. My contention that a feast (long bomb) or famine (3-and-out) offense produces a dismal TOP isn't specific to the last Jets game -- it applies to any game going forward, and it should be obvious why. Unfortunately, this is a different year and right now we are 31st in the league, and soon to be last after Chicago plays tonight. https://www.teamrankings.com/nfl/stat/average-time-of-possession-net-of-ot?date=2016-09-19
  21. With the SS (Pryor #25) pressing and the FS (Gilchrist #21) that high Clay is the hot. Their rookie LB (Lee #50) blew his coverage assignment and then fell down. After the play was over Gilchrist immediately pointed at the center of the field to indicate that they just dodged a huge bullet. This is not considered a difficult read for the QB to make. I meant exactly what I said -- red zone. There's nothing wrong with two long touchdowns, but if that's the only way you can score and the rest of the time you are going 3-and-out, your defense is going to be on the field for 40 minutes. And that's exactly what's happening.
  22. Next April the team has to make a decision on both his $15.5M option and his $12M salary which both become guaranteed at that time, it's a $28M decision with a future cap impact as well. That contract only favors the team if he improves this year. If he doesn't and they have to cut bait, then maybe John Clayton was right all along, and he winds up in Denver.
