Honestly, who cares? If you have had season tickets (club seats no less) throughout the drought years you have more than paid your dues. Sell them after 2 years if you want, after the "New Stadium Honeymoon" is over in good conscience. People on the waiting list would be happy to have more PSLs entering the market.

Yeah, it's probably because his stint with the Royals that year didn't count because it wasn't a pro football team, so his name went back in the pool for the NFL Draft. That was ~40 years ago back when the draft was still 12 rounds, so I'm sure the rules were different.

Returning to play college ball was never really an option, as per the CBA the Bengals would then still retain his rights next season. Sitting out the season and not playing in another professional league is the only way he could become eligible for the 2026 Draft. I wonder if it ever gets to the point where college recruits start declining interviews with the Bengals.
