@GunnerBill I think your points on the O-line are spot on! We need to pick a direction and go with it. The “consistency” that we’ve had with coaches and scheme hasn’t translated into a coherent plan for the line. Very puzzling. Thanks for your write ups. They are great reads and I enjoy them very much.

I don’t understand why our defensive coverage assignments are being missed. It can’t be just Hamlin, or is it? -
The Bills won last night because.... (karma reasons only)

Was watching the game at a friends house because I don’t have NFL Network. Abruptly left at the end of the 3rd Quarter and took off all Bills clothing when I got home. -
I think McKenzie is more of a liability than an asset. His overall success from last year led to more playing time this year that just hasn’t panned out. I think Dorsey is trying too hard to get him in the game plan and in doing so sacrifices the rhythm of the offense. An example was in KC, we inexplicably forced the use of McKenzie in the red zone and turned the ball over because he doesn’t know the play or was focused on something else. I’ve seen enough to not trust him in the playoffs. Completely agree with bringing in Beas for the push to the Super Bowl.

Amen! Was thinking the same thing.

I don’t get it either. It has to be coaching. Every one of our D-lineman seem to not be able to tackle the QB except for Von. It’s almost like they are overly concerned with keeping contain or something and this causes them to take weird angles and not go for the tackle. It’s quite odd.

There were some significant line stunts going on the entire game. I haven’t watched the All-22 but I think Ed played a big role in some of those middle pressures using the stunts.

I’m kind of Over the Hines Experiment
AmishRifle replied to EmotionallyUnstable's topic in The Stadium Wall
The Athletic article post game by Joe Buscaglia goes in depth on Hines and Cook. Excerpt below: “3. The Cook and Hines package returns with a vengeance Against the Browns in Week 11, the Bills flashed a personnel package including both Cook and Nyheim Hinesas a means to put pressure on the defense in different ways. They did it on a handful of snaps, but it wasn’t a heavy piece of their game plan. Then against the Lions in Week 12, the Bills mostly went away from that personnel grouping, and Hines himself as the back had only four snaps total. But offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey may have been keeping it in his back pocket for the Patriots game, as they used Cook and Hines on the field together a whopping 12 times throughout the game. While it doesn’t seem like a lot, that’s far more two-running back sets than the Bills had ever run previously. The Bills effectively used Hines in a similar way Brian Daboll used Isaiah McKenzie as a gadget receiver several years ago. And despite some plays that were duds, it was highly productive with some chunk plays. The Bills gained 78 yards on those 12 plays, for an average of 6.5 yards each time. Considering the Bills only averaged 4.6 yards per play on their other 60 plays, that Cook and Hines group gave them a major edge as it was sprinkled in throughout the game.“ As other posters have said, it’s about matchups!! Hines was a great add!! -
I was at the game sitting in the end zone from where the Bills started the drive. I can tell you that my ears were literally ringing and my buddy’s Apple Watch was giving the “sound warning” notice from the decibels. It was extremely loud. Allen’s pass to get us off the goal line dropped the decibels significantly. I wouldn’t call it “the” turning point but it was a very significant play. The Chiefs we’re looking to get the ball back and add on to their lead before half.

My buddy and I are flying out for the KC game. Anyone have any recommendations for tailgating options. We can buy tickets to a tailgate in Parking Lot M for $95 but were wondering if there were any other options??

I have to admit that your argument is quite convincing Sir!

Does anybody think that we’ll purposely eat more clock with the offense this week given the rash of injuries to our secondary? McDermott always talks about complementary football. If you’re really worried about the Dolphins offense or our defenses ability to stop them, then just keep them off the field.
